Some People Need To Read The Constitution
Ahh how I love it when people get angry and say stupid shit. I've done it, you've done it, we've all done it. :) Well now Jesse Jackson Jr. has done it. He's pretty pissed about the Libby commutation:
”Since the president has intervened in this process, it is now the Congress’ obligation and responsibility to intervene in the executive process and begin an inquiry into these very serious crimes against the constitution of the United States,” said Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Chicago).
Article II Section II:
The President ... shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.
There ya go buddy, since you obviously can't be bothered to read the document that you're invoking, I thought I'd help you out a bit. Look, you're mad that the President commuted the sentence of someone you didn't think deserved it. It's the same as when Marc Rich was pardoned by Clinton.
Maybe you should do the same thing that the Move On.org people did:
MoveOn.org Civic Action was started by Joan Blades and Wes Boyd, two Silicon Valley entrepreneurs. Although neither had experience in politics, they shared deep frustration with the partisan warfare in Washington D.C. and the ridiculous waste of our nation's focus at the time of the impeachment mess. On September 18th 1998, they launched an online petition to "Censure President Clinton and Move On to Pressing Issues Facing the Nation." Within days they had hundreds of thousands of individuals signed up, and began looking for ways these voices could be heard.
