DailyKos Founder Fined For Unethical Stock Bump
Oh the irony certainly is thick here. DailyKos, a well known liberal blog, has found one of it's co-founders in trouble with the SEC.
Jerome Armstrong has agreed to pay nearly $30,000 in fines in a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission over allegations that Armstrong touted the stock of a software company, without disclosing that he was being paid to do so, the NY TIMES reports.
Under the agreement, Armstrong neither denies nor admits to the allegations.
Hmm....I don't get the feeling that either you or I would pay $30,000 in fines to the SEC unless you were truly guilty of something. Especially an unethical stock incident. Isn't this the same kind of behavior that Republicans are constantly being accused of by liberals? Isn't this the same kind of "back alley deal" that liberals love to point to and accuse conservatives of corruption?
Isn't this the same kind of thing that would be on the front page of CNN right now if it were a conservative? Liberals love to point out hypocrisy in Republicans such as Mark Foley, so I think they readily deserve to have it shoved back into their faces.
