Pearl Jam Pissed

So, let me get this straight: members of Pearl Jam were pissed that their anti-Bush remarks were censored in a webcast, that AT&T said was due to an editors mistake, but where were they when the soldier at YearlyKos was being censored?

Watch for liberals to get all up in arms over this issue, talking about boycotts, censorship, and Freedom of Speech, yet those same people were dead quiet about the soldier.

While stopping short of calling the omission intentional censorship, the band's Web site said the incident "troubles us as artists, but also as citizens concerned with the issue of censorship and the increasingly consolidated control of the media."

"If a company that is controlling a Webcast is cutting out bits of our performance -- not based on laws, but on their own preferences and interpretations -- fans have little choice but to watch the censored version," the band said. "What happened to us this weekend was a wake-up call, and it's about something much bigger than the censorship of a rock band."

You're absolutely right. Censorship has to be stopped by EVERYONE. So when I hear you defend the rights of someone you don't agree with, then you'll get my support. However, you still do have the right to say what you said, regardless of my point of view.
