Troops Mounting An Offensive In Afghanistan

Come on guys, win one for the ol' Gipper ! Hundreds of U.S. and Afghan soldiers have embarked on a major operation against militants in the eastern Afghan region of Tora Bora, near the border with Pakistan, officials have told CNN.

Air and ground strikes underway in the remote mountain region are aimed at large numbers of militant fighters.

The troops are targeting "hundreds of hardened al Qaeda and Taliban in dug-in positions," said officials familiar with the intelligence.

Sounds like they may be protecting something or someone valuable? One can only hope, as it would mean likely capture or kill of that person or thing. Our military guys don't mess around. :) What I'd really like to see is an offensive without borders, meaning if they try to sneak over into Pakistan, we follow and capture or kill them.
