Troops Mounting An Offensive In Afghanistan
File photo of the remote mountain Tora Bora region on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Air and ground strikes underway in the remote mountain region are aimed at large numbers of militant fighters.
The troops are targeting "hundreds of hardened al Qaeda and Taliban in dug-in positions," said officials familiar with the intelligence.
Sounds like they may be protecting something or someone valuable? One can only hope, as it would mean likely capture or kill of that person or thing. Our military guys don't mess around. :) What I'd really like to see is an offensive without borders, meaning if they try to sneak over into Pakistan, we follow and capture or kill them.
