Charity Founder Sentenced.

This is exactly why we investigate Middle Eastern charities. Many seem to think we're "against the Muslims and Arabs.", but stuff like this just proves that extremists are trying to funnel money to terrorist organizations in creative ways.

Tell me how this is a good idea?

Yet another idea from the idiots over at the kos site. There are gay republicans??? Say it isn't so! There are gay folks in EVERY aspect of life. Doctors, Attorneys, Accountants, and yes, even Republicans. The basic idea is to out every gay Republican to show the hypocracy of the Republican party. Well I hate to burst your bubble guys, but I already know that.

Furthermore, outing a gay person is wrong, regardless of political affiliation. I don't bash gay folks because what they do in their bedroom is their business. As long as it's consenting adults and no crime is being committed (child abuse, sexual assault, etc), then I have no qualms about what a person does in the privacy of their own home. I play World Of Warcraft and I have at least one publicly gay man in my guild. He's an excellent player and is very polite and charming. The fact that he is gay means absolutely nothing to me. In fact, we recently had another guild member publicly out this man and, had I been there, I would have kicked him out immediately. I don't know how many people know that this man is gay, but for another player to say "And just so you know, So and So is Gay!" is wrong.

This is just another political attempt to try to wrestle control of congress from the Republicans. Unfortunately, I think every time that they pull stuff like this, they usually have it backfire on them. I'd rather have someone in office who'll do what's right, rather then what's popular.

Muslim Extremists Behead Priest

I don't know about moderate Muslims, but if Extremist Christians beheaded a Muslim Cleric, I get the feeling that there would be an uproar much bigger then what we've seen so far. An Orthodox Priest was beheaded by Muslim extremists in the city of Mosul. I'm being told time and time again that Islam is a religion of peace. If that is the case, why are there such violent protests ALL THE TIME. Why for even minor criticism, is there people protesting with signs like these?

What do you suppose would the reaction would be if Christians, Hindus, or any other religious group gathered up and chanted "Death To Islam". Moderate Muslims need to speak up more often and loudly and say "these people do not represent us." When you don't, you give the impression that you condone the actions that these extremists are doing. You give the impression that when people say critical things about your religion, that they are correct. Some moderate Muslims have spoken up and I thank them. But it's not enough. There has been too much bloodshed and not enough Muslims speaking up and saying "this is wrong." I'll be the first to admit that most, if not all popular Christian evangelists are idiots. Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts, and especially Jimmy Swaggart, are all Christian evangelists who have said and done stupid things at one point or another.

Freedom of religion means ALL religions. That means if you don't infringe upon my rights to exist in peace, you have a right to practice whatever religion you want. When you start spewing out threats to others, sooner or later, you'll lose your right to exist in peace.

Personal Responsibility

Call me a crazy old man, but what the hell ever happened to personal responsibility? When I was a young boy, if I antagonized the neighbors dog, I got bit. The first words out of my parents mouths were "what did you do to the dog?" Once they found out that I was antagonizing the dog, it was immediately my fault and I either got a spanking, or I got yelled at. That's when I found out that pulling on the dogs ear, even though I was only 3 at the time, was a bad idea.

Now a days, it seems like everywhere you turn, something is always someone else's fault. No one seems to jump up and say "this was my fault, I accept responsibility" For example, Dr. Marion Nestle, seems to think that the food industry should be regulated like drug and tobacco industries. Ironic name aside, I think Dr. Nestle needs a good idea of what the real world is like.

I like to eat rich foods. I enjoy a good pasta dinner with a tall glass of Henry Weinhards Root Beer. This is a very rich diet and means that if I don't work out, I'll get fat. Well I am fat now, but I'm working it off as we speak, but that's another story. I know that if I eat rich, fatty, or fried foods, I'll be fat in no time unless I workout. I know that if I spill fresh coffee on my lap, it'll probably burn me. And who's fault would all of the above scenario's be if they happen? Mine. Not Olive Garden's, Not McDonald's, mine.

It just strikes me as odd that people are deathly afraid of responsibility lately. When was the last time you heard someone say "I screwed up, sorry." Go ahead, I'll wait.....you couldn't could you? For example, Mel Gibson in his interview, never said "I don't like Jews, I was just drunk and saying horrible things" He actually blames alcohol. Now, I don't know how many of you have been drunk before, but when you're drunk, you lose inhibitions. You don't just start saying horrible things in a malicious way if it wasn't in your heart. Alcohol just loosens up your tongue, and Mel Gibson should own up to his comments and say "yeah I said it, I mean it, and there's nothing you can do to make me stop thinking it" At least then, we'd know where he stood on things. Now, he's going on this "apology tour" and trying to convince people that he just said things because he's drunk, not because he's an anti-semite.

Air America Bankrupt

Well it's finally happened. Air America, a liberal radio station, is going bankrupt. Now, Just a month ago, they denied rumors that they were going to file for bankruptcy. I thought that Democrats loved nothing more then to find lies that people told and "seek the truth". Well, if you go onto their website, you'll find NOTHING mentioning the filing. I would think that if you run a radio station, you owe it to your listeners to let them know that you're filing for bankruptcy. It's just common courtesy.

But alas, they don't seem to give a shit. They seem to want to sweep it under the rug. Wait, I thought that's what they accuse us of doing all the time. They want to know the truth about everything, there's always a conspiracy involving Republicans. Well if you don't mention your filing of bankruptcy, couldn't that be considered evidence of a "cover up" or a "vast left wing conspiracy"? I'm not laughing at their misfortune.....ok I am....but my main point is that if you want to accuse Republicans all the time of conspiracies and cover ups, you should ALWAYS be on the up and up about anything and everything you do, even if it's negative in any way.

People want to hear common sense talk radio. They don't care about some whack job spewing off nonsense about how the governments out to get you, radical Muslims should be treated with kid gloves, and other such bullshit. Their ratings proves it. For example, in New York, the number 1 market in the country, they (WLIB-AM) pulled in a 1.4 share in the fall of 2005. That puts them in 24th place out of 39 stations. To be blunt, they were getting their asses kicked. Badly. You simply can't run a successful, profitable radio station if your ratings are in the gutter. You can't have a high profile host like Al Franken being paid good money and getting horrendous ratings and continue on forever. What's even worse, is that the station has only been in business since March of 2004. So they made it 2 1/2 years? Seems like a spectacular failure to me.

Alternative Energy

Ok, hold on to your hats, I'm gonna sound like a damned hippie here for a minute. Today, in 1973, OPEC voted to suspend all oil exports to western countries that they considered helpful to Israel. Granted, it's been 30 years since then, but sooner or later, this is going to bite us in the ass again. I suggest we get ourselves off of oil imports as soon as possible for the greater good of our nation.

If we are energy independent, we can tell hostile governments where to stick it. Cheap oil is coming to an end. Do you remember a little more then a year ago, gas was at $1.80 a gallon? Well, prices went up to more then $3.00 a gallon and everyone got pissed. Rightfully so, but then prices are starting to come down. Gas in my area is now down to $2.50 a gallon. Do any of you honestly think that gas is going to go down to $1.80 ever again? People will think "wow, it's gone down" but it will settle around $2.20 tops. OPEC has already stated that they are going to cut production by 1 million barrels per day to keep the price up. India has proclaimed that they will bump up production to fill the 1 million barrels per day gap.

However, Oil is not going to last forever. There's rumors that we're sitting on trillions of gallons of oil, but even if true, that won't last forever either. Honestly, I think Hydrogen is the way to go. Many of you are probably thinking "Hydrogen will run out eventually too". While technically correct, you can extract hydrogen from ordinary tap water. Electrolysis, is the process of extracting hydrogen from water. You can read more about it here. Now, even though hydrogen is a non renewable source, it is cheap and can be created at home. Imagine being able to hook a water line up to a machine, plug it in, and it fills the tank of your car. Water is so unbelievably cheap, you could fill your tank for less then a dollar. You could even go a step further and provide solar power to this machine and get free power, further reducing your costs. You could even go down to your local river and scoop out a tank full for free. Now the downside is that of course, oil companies will have to adapt. But then again, what company hasn't had to adapt to changing markets?

I think my main problem is that we as a society are used to independence and here we are completely dependent on the will of foreign governments, many of them openly hostile to us. So if say, Iran, decides that they want to build a nuclear bomb, and we say no, what do they really have as a negotiating tool? Would they threaten to not sell us a product we don't need or want? There would be a completely different landscape in the Middle East if it weren't for oil. I'm not saying that the whole "blood for oil" bullshit is correct. I think we still would have gotten involved in the first and second Gulf Wars without oil. If you threaten us or an ally, you can expect an ass whipping regardless.

Now, as a side note, I'd like to know from liberals, if the whole "No blood for oil" thing is what you think, why didn't we just keep the oil fields when we had them in 1991 during the first Gulf War? We controlled pretty much the entire country. We could have easily set up shop and said "Fuck You, we're keeping this" and there wasn't much Saddam could do about it. We decimated his army, destroyed his air force, and we had Iraqi soldiers surrendering by the thousands. It was ours for the taking, so why didn't we if that was the reason for us going there?

Senator Harry Reid Getting Shady

I thought Republicans were "A Culture of Corruption" according to Democrats? Democrats promised to clean up congress with this coming years elections. They were gonna make it sunshine forever and give puppies and candy to everyone in the world. Well it appears that one of the Democrat's most outspoken members, Harry Reid, might have to find out what shoe leather tastes like. It appears that Harry Reid may have broken some ethics rules in Congress when dealing with some Las Vegas property. I seem to remember a quote that Harry Reid said "So the next thing I assume I'll be hearing from Republicans, they want to change rules some way, as they do on the House when you get a problem with ethics, they just change the rules." Plus, I seem to remember a document that was released "on accident" that attacked Republicans for their "Culture of Corruption".

I don't think politicians understand that with the Internet and the huge amount of data and sharing that goes on, they can't really get away with as much as they used to. Man, it feels so good to see a politician put his foot in his mouth. I think I need a cold shower.

Treason

Now this is a story I can get behind. If you provide support to people who want to see us dead, you're a traitor, period. Traitor's used to be put to death in this country if the crime was severe enough. Personally, I doubt this guy is going to be captured alive. He'll probably be shot dead by one of our special forces guys. Or he could go the route of Muhammad Khalaf Shakar and give the same old "I'll never be taken alive" then be captured like the coward he is.

But one thing is certain, we're getting soft when it comes to our enemies. We need to charge people with treason and espionage and follow through with it. For example, Chi Mak is allegedly working for the Chinese government in trying to get our naval secrets. I think it would set a good example if we tried them for espionage and went for a life sentence or death. Now, on the flip side, it would cause a major international incident and harm relations with a valuable trade partner. Furthermore, it would most certainly put our guys in danger.

The problem is that we don't just go out and execute foreign spies like other countries do. Make it look like an accident, robbery gone wrong, what have you. The Chinese are already making efforts to steal as much technology as they can because they for whatever reason, can't or won't make it for themselves. They are trying to position themselves as a major world superpower and want to get there as quickly as possible. Why research technology when you can steal it and then improve upon already proven theories?

If you find spies and traitors, start putting bullets in them. Pretty soon they'll start thinking twice before they attempt things against America and its interests. We're not taking threats as seriously as we should, or at least it doesn't appear to to the general public. If you want to be friends and reach your hand out, I'll be more then happy to shake your hand and be your friend. There won't be a thing that I wouldn't do for you. Money, support, defense, anything you need is yours because to be my friend means you're a part of my family. If you want to spy, be my enemy, or be a traitor, I will spare no expense, move any mountain, or raise hell itself to make sure you pay so severely for your deed, you'll never do it again, or if you're stupid, you'll at least think twice before doing it.

Maybe the military and the intelligence communities are taking these threats seriously and are dealing with them quietly, but when I read that a guy who has admittedly stolen naval secrets and had the audacity to use the "what I stole wasn't classified" defense, and he's only facing 10 years in jail, I begin to think we're getting soft.

Crazy Eyes Is At It Again

Well it looks like the Runaway Bride (AKA Crazy Eyes) is suing her former boyfriend for her 1/2 of a $500,000 publishing deal. Now, if what she claims is true, her ex owes her $250,000, which I would have to reluctantly agree belongs to her. Personally, I don't think she deserves a dime from it and should have fully reimbursed the sheriffs office for the $40,000 that was spent in man hours searching for her. Also, while technically her boyfriend is in the wrong if the allegations are true, who can really blame him? If my fiance ran off from our lavish wedding and made up a story and caused a major news story, I'd be a little more then pissed about it. Being humiliated, I just might do the same thing that her boyfriend did with the money, allegedly. Well I guess we'll have to see how this will run out. No pun intended.

Airplane Crashes Into New York Apartment Building

It appears as if it were an accident, but still stirs up memories of September 11th. An small fixed wing aircraft has crashed into a New York apartment building. Judging from the burn marks on the side of the building, it looks like the airplane fell out of the sky instead of crashing in a straight path, indicating the accident rather then a deliberate attack. But time will tell. Hopefully there isn't a lot of loss of life. Currently there's 4 confirmed dead. Hopefully there won't be any more.

Todd Beamers Father

Well it looks like Todd Beamers father, David, is in a political ad that Democrats don't particularly like. While I have watched the video, I can say that David Beamer does not say anything that is not true and that the points he makes in the ad are dead on. It appears that their main issue is that David is using his sons death to promote the Republican agenda. While I can understand if someone would criticize David for this, I don't think the Democrats have thought this through, as usual. Because if you're going to throw stones, make sure you are not living in a glass house. Democrats constantly complain about double standards with Republicans. But I bet they really hate it when someone points it out that they have double standards as well.

Doesn't Cindy Sheehan do the EXACT SAME THING. Democrats don't seem to have a problem with this woman protesting everywhere, writing books, and appearing on TV almost nightly. What's different about David Beamer and Cindy Sheehan is that Cindy's not keeping with her sons wishes. Her husband divorced her, her entire family disagrees with her, and even her son reenlisted and volunteered for the mission that eventually took his life. Her own sons actions speak of a dedicated soldier and if he was against the war in Iraq, why did he reenlist? Why did he volunteer for such dangerous missions? The simple fact is that Cindy Sheehan is promoting her own agenda, not carrying on with the actions and ideals that her son died for. David is.

A little note to Democrats, if you're going to raise a stink about something, make sure you don't reek yourself.

Criminals Being Treated Like.....Criminals

Holy crap, you mean to tell me that criminals don't like wearing pink jumpsuits? Why that's cruel and unusual punishment! There will be lawsuits! The ACLU will hear of this! There will be riots in the streets! Oh wait....no one gives a shit because you're all CRIMINALS. You've committed a crime against another person who didn't deserve to have his stereo stolen, his daughter punched in the face during a drunken rage, or worse.

I applaud Sheriff Clint Low of Mason County, Texas. He in turn, got the idea from the original ass kicker, Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona.

The basic idea is that you make jail miserable so that inmates don't want to come back or don't mind coming back. Is this really such a problem? Why has jail gotten so good, that people don't mind going back to jail? I think it's a sad state of affairs that these two sheriff's are the exception, not the norm. Jails should be cold, damp, miserable places. Food should be based upon nutrition and cost cutting. There should be no workout rooms, no television, only a newspaper or two, no coffee, cigarettes, or anything else that one can enjoy while outside of jail.

Jails should be run as a ruthlessly cost efficient business. Inmates should be forced to pay for their own stay. Why should I have to get up at 6 am every morning so that my taxes can pay for a criminal to have a place to stay, free medical care, and a host of other privileges and benefits? My medical insurance is more then $500 a month. Although my employer pays for it, it's still an expense that I would have to cover if they didn't. The only real cost that a jail should have is the staff. Every other cost should be passed down to the inmate. The staff have dangerous jobs and should be paid well, which I have no problem my taxes paying for. The staff member gets up each morning and is a productive member of society that helps keep me safe. The inmate committed a crime and not only should have his freedom taken from him for whatever sentence the judge imposes, but should also be forced to pay for the privilege of staying in jail. If he cannot pay for whatever reason, and it is reasonable for him to be out in society, he can work on the road crew, picking up litter and prettying up the state parks and highways that my taxes pay for.

Alaskans Would Rather Freeze Then Get Oil From Chavez

Well you got to hand it to Alaskans. They really know how to stick to their principles. Dealing with sub zero temperatures and telling Hugo Chavez to stick it takes some real conviction. Apparently Hugo Chavez thought it would be a major coup to give away or sell at a very cheap price, heating oil to needy Americans. Normally that would be, but he decided to open his mouth at the UN and badmouth his hosts and their leader. Good plan idiot. Tell us that we are on our way down, our leader is the devil himself, and then try to get some good will by sending out oil to needy people.

You may not notice, hell the entire world may not notice, but Americans have a little something special about them. We've been kicked in the teeth many times before and we get up, dust ourselves off, and move forward. That's why we're number 1 in many areas. We strive to make things better for us, our families and our friends. Now, our friends might be foreign countries, but that still means you're friends. That's why when the world needs help, they come to America. When they want to make their lives better, they immigrate to America. You can badmouth us all you want, but we have a tendency to remember it and won't be there when you need help later on down the road.

God I love it when I'm right. :)

Looks like China is pretty pissed at North Korea at the moment. Apparently, the site of the "nuclear" test is just about 50 or so miles from the Chinese border. They have every right to be pissed about something so close to them that could have catastrophic consequences for the region both radiologically and politically. Just thought I'd pat myself on the back for my earlier blog about letting the Chinese and Japanese governments deal with this one.

As a side note, it looks like the North Koreans are trying to get us back to the table by saying they'll test fire a nuclear tipped missile. Man, when you are desperate, you really begin to think stupid things are a good idea.

Karma's Gonna Get You.

Well it appears that Karma does indeed exist.

Scott Peterson, husband, father, murderer, was beaten in jail today while handcuffed and being led back to his cell. The icing on the cake was when he broke down and cried. Now he'll be known as a sniveling, baby killing little bitch in prison. This can only get better.

I can understand feeling trapped and scared if you have a baby on the way. Every father has gone through those same types of feelings. But when it turns to murder, then you're a coward and deserve nothing but pain and misery until you have your life snuffed out by the state of California.

Unfortunately, California is not known to have a speedy death row, so it could be another 20 years or so before his sentence is ultimately carried out. Even then, Scott might get lucky on appeal and have his sentence reduced to life without parole.

For those of you who don't know, crimes against children, pregnant women and unborn children make the criminals the lowest form of scum within the prison system. Therefore, beatings and murders against such criminals is commonplace. Good luck in the next 20 years Scott, you're going to need it.

Mexico Up In Arms Over Fence Between Nations

Well I am wondering why Mexico is so up in arms about a planned 700 mile fence between us and them. They even plan on taking it up with the UN. Which begs the question; if there's no territorial disputes, why the fuss? It helps keep illegal aliens and criminals out of each others country. I have personally seen a high speed chase on TV where the criminal got away because he crossed the Mexican border and the police could not follow legally. I am not quite sure on the details as it has been a while since I have seen it, I think it was a Cops episode.

Regardless, I think the Mexican government has a legitimate problem on their hands. With a gigantic fence between us and them, they will have to deal more with the problems that come up with dealing with international borders. Illegal immigration, Drug trafficking, Human Slavery, and more are now problems of both countries, and I can only speculate that Mexico either doesn't have the will or the backbone to deal with these problems. I cannot think of any other reason why they would be upset that a fence is going along an agreed upon border. If Mexico is struggling already to deal with these problems, I don't see any reason why they cannot say to us "I'd love to help in keeping border security, however, I am struggling to keep up as it is. Do you mind giving me a hand?" I'm quite certain that we'd be more then willing to give them the technology and the man power it takes to secure a border that's thousands of miles long. My neighbor has a fence between his and my house. That doesn't make us any less friendly, it just means that he likes his privacy and territory.

Now please, don't take my above comments as a jab against Mexico or the Mexican government. They've been close allies for a very long time, and have been very helpful in the war on terror and are a great trade partner. They have a rich culture and some of the most beautiful women in the world. However, a simple fence is not a reason to be upset with a neighbor.

Oh this is sad.

Oh my god. If this story turns out to be true, North Korea will the the laughing stock of the international community. Turns out that it might not have been a full scale nuclear detonation. Regardless of if it were nuclear or not, it does need the attention of the international community.

North Korea Tests A Nuke

Well it looks like those wacky North Koreans are at it again. The concluded a successful nuclear test earlier this morning. What I find odd is the complete lack of compassion from Kim Jong II for his countrymen. The place is practically starving to death and yet, he seems to think that a nuclear weapon is the way to go. I would think that a decent leader would make sure that everyone has food and clean water first before he thinks about other things. Perhaps ole' Kim hasn't seen Maslow's hierarchy of needs. That's ok. I'll leave that link up in case Kim decides to pay my site a visit. You're welcome buddy. :)

Many people immediately looked at us to resolve the issue. What I find odd is, many people seem to be up in arms when we play "world cop", but then run to us when the shit hits the fan. Anyone remember Liberia? Everyone wanted us to stay of Iraq, but then when Liberia was having problems with rebels, they looked at us for help. Of course we helped because it's in the nature of Americans to help when help is needed.

Back to North Korea. I think the difference between North Korea and Iran is that we seem to have better allies with us for North Korea than Iran. Why? Iran is sitting on an ocean of oil. There's many financial reasons for China and other countries in the area to take a "let's wait and see" approach to Iran. China is emerging to become a world superpower and needs all the help they can get to get there. But North Korea? There's nothing there. They are struggling to meet even basic needs of their citizens. People are crossing over into China and South Korea en mass. Now, when you have an unstable region like that with nuclear weapons, it will make you rightfully concerned. Radiated material could be picked up by the winds and carried deep into China and Japan. This brings about the needless suffering of people who come into contact with it. Japan is rightfully pissed as well. North Korea has already fired missiles over Japanese land. I don't know about you, but if a missile flew over my country, there'd be hell to pay.

I say let the Chinese and Japanese folks deal with the problem in the mean time. North Korea wants to "talk" desperately because we have halted shipments of aid to them and they know they aren't doing so well. There was an original deal for us to supply aid and they would in turn not have a nuclear program. Period. Now, they've reneged on the deal and want to come back? No way. Appeasement didn't work for the Clinton administration. There's no way it'll work now. Fool me once, shame on you.... Why should be believe that they are sincere now? They've given no reason for us to believe that they want to be friendly, so if that's the case, why should we send aid? We already have our hands full and aren't getting help we need from China and Russia for their own economic reasons. I think this may come to bite them in the ass when Iran and North Korea are no longer allies of theirs.

North Korea has made their bed, now they must lie in it. What Kim Jong II doesn't realize, is that when you have people who are desperate, such as starving to death, they do desperate things. Such a situation could be very dangerous for Kim Jong II and his regime.
