Gun Control
For those of you who don't know, I'm a big supporter of America, especially the Bill Of Rights. I'm not saying that America is perfect, but we generally try to do what's right instead of what's popular. Sometimes that pisses people off, but they know they can count on us when the shit hits the fan. Which brings me to my next topic of fun - Gun Control.
The Second Amendment of the Constitution states: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Now John Ashcroft seemed to think that the Second Amendment was a "privilege". I'm glad that asshole is out of a job with the DOJ now. Apparently, he can't read when it comes to the Bill Of Rights.
The Second Amendment uses the "well regulated militia" as an example, not as a requirement as Ashcroft seemed to think. "Shall not be infringed" means just that. No laws can be made that infringes on your right to carry a firearm. That means that if you want to be technical about it, criminals, the mentally ill, ANYONE can possess a firearm. Please notice that it says nothing about automatic weapons, assault rifles, or even laser or rail guns. I'm not saying that criminals or the mentally ill should have weapons, but if they pushed their case, I imagine that you could have a good argument with them.
Now personally, I own several weapons. For example, I own one of these:

This isn't my particular weapon, but it is very close. It is a Bushmaster AR-15 weapon. Now, do I "need" this weapon? Of course not. A machine gun would do just a nicely. :) I have this weapon for several reasons. First, I use it to protect my home. If you are staring down the barrel of one of these, you will think twice before trying anything stupid while the cops are on their way to come arrest you. If you do think about doing something stupid, I have 30 rounds I can put into you before I need to reload. What that means is, you had better be a good shot, because in a firefight, I'm going to win.
Secondly, I have it because it's cool. There isn't a red blooded American man (or any red blooded man from any nation) that wouldn't want one of these. If you want to feel testosterone rush through your bloodstream, pick one of these up, it will work wonders. :)
Thirdly, my wife said I could have it. Now, I'm not saying that she has full say in the matter, but her approval does mean something. Your spouse must be comfortable around guns, otherwise when things get ugly from say a burglary, you want your spouse to be able to defend her/himself.
Now, for those of you out there that say I shouldn't have this weapon and guns in the house are more likely to cause harm to the occupant rather then the intruder, my guns are locked up. I have several children in my life and I would be devastated if one of them got into my guns and killed themselves or someone else. The guns are locked away, but can be retrieved in a matter of seconds if the need arises.
If you think that guns shouldn't be in the home, fine. Don't have guns in YOUR home. You don't have the right to tell me how to live my life when I'm well within my Constitutional rights. For example, I don't tell you that you can't say something when you have a First Amendment right to do so. That's not to say that I won't be pissed about it, but I don't have the right to trample on your rights to say what you want, when you want, to who you want.
I've been raised around guns. I got my first rifle when I was just 5 years old. I had it kept in my grandfather's gun cabinet. We would go up into the mountains and shoot targets for recreation. There was ALWAYS safety first when it came to guns. Children can understand the power and responsibility that comes with guns. They are much more intelligent then you think. I plan on taking my Goddaughter and other children in my life out shooting when they are old enough as well. I may even buy her a small .22 rifle for her when she is old enough. Although, I think she'd rather have a Barbie or a Tricycle at her age now. :)

This Is Bush's Fault!
Let's see if the Democrats can blame this one on Bush as well? Unemployment has dropped to 4.4% and added 92,000 new jobs for the month of October. Hmm....economy's doing well.....unemployment is at a 5 year low.......Democrats point out that Clinton had a roaring economy in the 90's, so it's safe to say that Bush can be blamed for the current economy as well? We all went through a rough spot earlier in the decade and we're not only pulling ourselves out of it, we're pushing past it. I guess Bush must be doing something right then.....right? :)

I'm actually happy that this is going on. Target seems to be helping out the police when it comes to solving crimes with its expertise in forensics. As long as the law is followed, I don't see a problem with this. Who knew Target had one of the most advanced forensics labs in the country? I thought it was a place where I could get a xbox game and some basic house hold items??

NY Times Admits Saddam Close To Nuke In 2002
Take a gander at this article. Most importantly, read the last paragraph on the first page. "Among the dozens of documents in English were Iraqi reports written in the 1990s and in 2002 for United Nations inspectors in charge of making sure Iraq had abandoned its unconventional arms programs after the Persian Gulf war. Experts say that at the time, Mr. Hussein’s scientists were on the verge of building an atom bomb, as little as a year away."
So in 2002 UN inspectors and other experts said that Saddam's scientists were ON THE VERGE of building a nuclear weapon. Hmmm....Sounds like a WMD to me and Saddam was known to fund suicide bombers and constantly fired missiles at our jets patrolling the No Fly Zone established after the first Gulf War. Does anyone else need any further proof that Saddam was a threat to the US??
What's odd is that this article is on the front page of the NY Times' website. Wouldn't this theoretically help the Bush Administration with doubters about the existence of WMD's and the threat that Saddam posed?
The problem that we have now with people who say "there were no weapons" is that they expected us to go in, kick open a door of a random warehouse, and find it filled to the rafters with missiles filled with Sarin and VX gas, Nuclear bombs lying around, and other such things.
Do you think Saddam would want this? Do you think he would just let it sit there and let the world see that "The USA was right"? Saddam is very worried about his legacy and to be shown a liar and a brutal dictator makes his legacy worthless. He sees himself as "The Liberator of Iraq" But soon enough, if found guilty and sentenced to death, he won't live to see Christmas. Iraqi law states if you're sentenced to death, it must be carried out within 30 days.

Timeline in Iraq = "Cut And Run"
Man, John Kerry just can't seem to pick a side and stick with it. :) Apparantly, in 2003, he was quoted with saying a timeline for pulling out of Iraq would be "cutting and running". Does he not understand that American's can think for themselves and have the ability to see what was said at what time? I guess not. :)

Terrorists Want You To Vote Democrat
No, Really. I'm not kidding. And even worse, check out this quote "Abu Ayman, an Islamic Jihad leader in Jenin, said he is "emboldened" by those in America who compare the war in Iraq to Vietnam."
Mark my words, if Democrats win either the House or the Senate or both and they force us to leave Iraq, terrorists like these will feel like they can continue to bomb nightclubs, restaurants, and such and get away with it. Innocent men, women, and children will die and it will be no one's fault but the Democrats and the terrorists that they are too cowardly to stand up to.

One of these two are probably going to be up for the presidency in 2008. Now, who do you suppose we should choose on our end? There's a long list of people, but I think we should take a hard look at my list on why John Kerry lost in 2004 and make sure that our candidate doesn't have the same flaws or make the same mistakes that Kerry did.

Russia And China Won't Back Sanctions On Iran
Why does this surprise anyone? Everyone knows that Russia and China need Iranian oil to help further their economies and they don't want to rock the boat. Unfortunately for Russia and China, the Israelis won't stand for a nuclear Iran. If Israel or the US does indeed do a military strike, oil prices will skyrocket, costing Russia and China more money. It's best to nip this situation in the butt while it's still in it's infancy rather then letting it spiral out of control. Only time will tell.

So gas goes down to $2.25 and all of a sudden a huge spike in SUV sales??? Wow, some people really are stupid. What's even worse is that people think "$2.25 isn't too bad, it could be $3.00" when a little more then a year ago it was $1.85. So oil companies are still hitting you with an additional 40 cents per gallon and no one seems to mind. This is why I loved my little Honda Insight I had. I got upwards of 125 mpg on flat open roads and 55 mpg going up and down hills. Now that I think about it, I should see if I can find me another one of those little guys. Shit Storm - Part 3
Ok, so maybe I enjoy being a little vindictive prick from time to time. :) I'll chalk it up to human nature. I think there's about 5 Republicans where I work and the rest are hard core Democrats. Many of them have family members who served in the military. I took great joy in showing them the John Kerry video and many of them gasped and were disillusioned after I showed them. It's so nice to be able to show them how their leader who was going to "bring about a revolution" is a real asshole, because many times I see them with anti-Republican stickers at their workstations and on bumper stickers on their cars. Sorry, I should be a little more adult about it, but it's so rare when I get an opportunity to gloat a little. :)

Shit Storm - Part 2
Well I'm glad to have been proven wrong. I'm glad the mainstream media picked up on John Kerry's comments and ran with it. I'm also glad that John Kerry is trying to blame everyone else but himself and then in the same tone, blame him "misspeaking" on a "botched joke". Perhaps John Kerry does think it's funny to take every bit of bad news out of Iraq and make a joke about it. I don't think it's particularly funny, but he does have a constitutional right to say it. I just have to keep telling myself that. His comments have pissed me off. Sorry about that. :)
There's a very popular left wing blog called Daily Kos and in it, the author had this to say: "Kerry has nothing to apologize for. The people who have turned their backs on the troops do. And even though this ridiculousness will lead the evening news, fact is, we should embrace the opportunity to remind Americans how Republicans rally to the "troops" defense only when it suits their own cynical political ends."
He's correct. John Kerry has nothing to apologize for. John Kerry meant those words he said and if that's how you truly feel, why should you apologize? Perhaps Republicans rally to the troops defense only when it suits are needs? Well if that's true, then why did John Kerry vote against a bill that would fund better body armor for our troops when it was found out that such a need existed, but Republicans voted for it? Then on top of that, John Kerry likes to point out that "we sent our troops in harms way ill equipped"
Karl Rove couldn't have asked for a better quote from any Democrat, but to have it from John Kerry, a prominent Democrat, so close to election time, could end up costing Democrats dearly. Thanks for that Freudian slip letting us all know how you feel about the military and everyone in it John.

Holy. Fucking. Shit. - John Kerry On Uneducated Military Folks
Update: John Kerry releases a statement about his comments and, continuing his tradition of blaming others, is blaming Republicans??
"If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did."
I was stumbling around the internet and I found John Kerry actually said this "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq."
I found a site that has the audio AND video too. Here. Update: I found the video on Youtube.com as well. Here you go. The site may be slow as John Kerry's words are bound to cause a shit storm.
I hate to tell you all "I told you so", but I TOLD YOU SO! This is the EXACT reason why the Democrats cannot be trusted with national security interests. It shows that John Kerry and his type think very little of the military and it's personnel. It shows that they only pay lip service to the military and everyone who sacrifices to make our country safe. Unfortunately, I doubt that the mainstream media will cover this at all except maybe Fox News.
I am wondering how he'll unscrew himself out of this one. I imagine we'll hear a "taken out of context" here or a "misquoted" there. Man up John, admit it was what you meant you cowardly piece of shit. John Kerry certainly has a right to say it, it doesn't mean I don't have a right to be pissed about it.

Iran's Getting Lippy Again
Is lippy even a word? Well my spell check says so, so I'm going with it. Iranian nut job Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is stating that there will be a "firm response" to UN sanctions. What I don't think he understands is that if oil prices rise, his country won't get in on the extra money coming in because of the sanctions. Furthermore 80% of Iran's economy is based upon oil. I don't care who you are, an 80% drop in revenue is significant and can easily bankrupt a nation. The problem is that the IAEA cannot confirm that Iran's nuclear program is merely peaceful. If they could, Iran would easily be able to say "I told you so", but they are being secretive and elusive, so there's plenty of reason to doubt their word. I guess we'll see how this plays out.

Big Money! No Whammies!
Man, wouldn't it be sweet if we nailed Al Qaeda #2 Ayman al Zawahiri? It looks like the noose is getting tighter. For those of you who do not know, al Zawahiri is as important as Osama Bin Laden because Zawahiri is more of the brains behind the operations. Osama is more of a spiritual leader type. Getting both is critical in my opinion, but nailing the #2 guy would severely cripple Al Qaeda's ability to do operations. Let's all cross our fingers while they sift through the dead.

Remember our little child killer friend, Anthony Ray Stockelman? He's the one who murdered a young child named Katie and got attacked and tattooed with the words "Katie's Revenge" on his forehead. Well it turns out that her cousin was the one who did it. Her cousin held this piece of shit down and told him to either get tattooed or die. Now, call me an insensitive asshole, but I'd acquit the cousin on general purposes. The cousin did do a crime and will probably get punished for it, but I would bet the farm that he thinks it's worth it. In his shoes, I would think it would be worth it for me as well.

Bill Cosby Blasts Black Parents
Bill Cosby, America's father figure, has recently blasted black parents and teachers for not doing enough for their children. He goes on to state that black people should stop blaming white people for their problems. I would agree with all of his points except I would change one. I would replace the word "black" with "all".
Lately, I can't seem to talk with anyone under the age of 23 and have them use proper language skills or spelling. It all seems to be about flash and no substance with them. They all want things in life that come with hard work and saving money, but they don't want to work for it. Of course, I thought the same things when I was younger, but the difference is that I knew I would have to work for what I wanted. Big houses, nice cars, etc, were all something to be earned rather then given.
What happened to smacking your kids on their little butts when they got out of line and telling them no? Parents now a days don't seem to care as long as their children aren't in jail, on drugs, or pregnant. When I was a young boy, if I got in trouble at school and sent home, I couldn't walk through my neighborhood without a man or woman asking me why I was home early from school. Once they knew, they'd spank my butt and send me home, where I'd get a further spanking. Children have been raised on corporal punishment for thousands of years and as adults, they've accomplished great things. Now that it's been fashionable to be a lazy parent, what have we accomplished in say the last 10 years? Anything really? Things have gotten bigger, better, faster, and cheaper, but nothing new has come up. When we get back to raising children properly and being involved in their lives, you'll start seeing things get better with time.

Even President Bush Thinks I'm Right.
Wow, I'm flattered that the President shares the exact same views I do. :) Give me a pat on the back!
"If you listen carefully for a Democrat plan for success, they don't have one. Iraq is the central front in the war on terror, yet they don't have a plan for victory"
Sounds awfully like several posts that I made earlier. Hmm...maybe I could get a job at the White House as an adviser? I imagine that the pay would be better. :)

This Is What We're Up Against
Just so any of you who think if we'll leave Iraq, that it'll all be rainbows and sunshine, here's a good sober look at what we're dealing with. Insurgents are now murdering children. Regardless of this boy's religion, the fact that they are murdering 14 year old boys shows a sobering look at the type of people we're dealing with. Does waterboarding sound so horrible now?

Stem Cell Research
I'm going to go a little out of my party's "official" stance and state that I'm for stem cell research. I'm really for any research that has the potential to cure any and all diseases. I'm sure that embryonic stem cell research is a sore subject for many people, but let's look at it from a different angle.
A woman goes in for an abortion, this alone means she did not want the child. I'm talking in the strict form of abortion here, not something like she needed an abortion because the baby died or her health was in jeopardy. When something like that happens I imagine she would take the baby's body and have it buried in her own ceremonious ways. So in my fictional "abortion", the woman no longer wants the child. What do you think happens to the child's body? It's discarded just like any other medical waste.
Now, if I tell you that I could use the child's cells in research that might help cure a horrible disease, what's the harm? The woman did not want the child to begin with. It's going to be thrown away. So, if we can cure say, spinal cord injuries, wouldn't that be worth it? America has been at the front of the medical technology business for many years, and I think we should take bold steps to make sure that we stay there.
Of course, there's going to be people who claim that they don't want this type of research because they believe that children are being butchered. Fair enough, but has any of them actually seen how stem cells are harvested? And if you object due to religious grounds, fair enough. But doesn't most religions state that when you die, your soul goes to heaven or hell? If so, doesn't that make your body a mere shell? What makes your body sacred if your soul, which is the most important part, is already in heaven or hell?

The Stress Is Getting To Me!
So a Muslim cleric makes some comments about women who don't cover up are basically asking to be raped, now has gone to the hospital because "the pressure has taken its toll". Does this idiot even think that he'll get a shred of sympathy? Also, he doesn't cover up as much as the women have to, so that begs the question; Does he deserve to be raped by a gay rapist? Under his thought process, he would deserve it and we should all blame him for it correct? What I'd really like to see from the Muslim community is him being kicked out of the mosque. It looks like that may very well happen.
I'm very happy that the Muslim community has stepped up and stated that his statements were wrong. Now if we can only get them to step up when it comes to terrorism, we'll have some real progress. Now, if he has said these things in the privacy of his own home or not while being a spokesman for the mosque, that's freedom of speech and he has the right to say it. However, when he states this as a cleric, it comes with certain responsibilities, and I think that he'll probably pay dearly for it.

John Kerry - Part 2
Well it appears that another Democrat is saying "vote for us, we'll make things better", but without a tangible plan. I'll be happy to work with Democrats, if they actually bring something to the table. For example, let's take a look at one of Democratic hopeful Jim Webb's quotes.
"A Democratic Congress will demand from day one that the president find a real way forward in Iraq. We'll work with the administration and other Republicans to develop a concrete plan, but none of us are ready to settle for empty rhetoric, or the same old unacceptable results."
So first, he wants the Democrats to control Congress. Fair enough, but in the next sentence, he states that the Democrats will work with President Bush and other Republicans on a "concrete plan" and that "none of us are ready to settle for empty rhetoric" But yet, over the past few years, all we've heard from the Democrats is "empty rhetoric".
James Webb is not without his own controversies. But, I'd be happy to listen to anyone, Democrat or Republican, with ideas on how to make things in Iraq better, I just don't think that when you have American soldiers dying, that you hold your ideas until election day. If you were truly going to "work with the administration and other Republicans", you'd do it right away, instead of holding onto it, if "it" even exists.
This just reeks of John Kerry's 2004 presidential bid when he tried to state that, if elected, he would make the world all sunshine and rainbows without actually offering anything of worth to the table.
