Veteran's Day

Sorry for the late post, traffic was horrible on the way home. Please make sure that if you have a veteran in your life, call them up and give them a thank you. If you don't know one, find one and give them a thank you. Remember, according to the almighty bumper sticker; if you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a veteran. Thanks for your service guys and girls!

9/11 Conspiracies

Ok so I ran into this little website and he debunks the 9/11 conspiracy theories along the same lines I do. Funny as hell as well. :)

Hugo Chavez Is An Asshole

Sometimes you need to call it like it is. In his little rant, he goes on about how Bush is genocidal, but then claims 9/11 was "self inflicted" If our government did in fact, murder 3,000 of it's own people, why doesn't Chavez fear for his life? Certainly we would assassinate him as well if he "got out of line" What an asshole.

I Told You

I told you the Israeli's aren't going to let Iran slide. Unfortunately for Iran, Israel doesn't fuck around with political pussy footing around like other countries might. Negotiations are only going to go so far, but if Iran wants to push the envelope and see how far it can get away with things, they may find themselves on the receiving end of an ass kicking. It's not like Israel hasn't done this before.

Jihad Not Over

Well no shit. Al Qaeda in Iraq claims that Jihad isn't over. This is the kind of threat that we face every day. He isn't simply threatening our soldiers, he's threatening attacks on mainland USA. What's funny is that he makes the statement "Come down to the battlefield, you coward", yet, when most insurgents, himself included, go to fight, they wear head scarves that cover their faces. You won't even show your face. Our soldiers not only show their faces, they wear uniforms so they don't blend in with civilians and hide behind women and children.

Iraqi Veteran Receives Medal Of Honor

This is why you cannot argue about the integrity and intelligence of our soldiers. I'm looking at you John Kerry. Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham saw a threat to his fellow soldiers and acted selflessly to protect them using his helmet and his body. Unfortunately, Mr. Dunham died due to his injuries 8 days later. This is what a hero's all about.

Beatdown

I always love stories like these. The scene is almost always the same: Elderly gentleman on his way home, a group of young thugs tries to mug him, the elderly gentleman turns out to be an ex boxer/soldier/bouncer/all around tough guy, and the thugs get their asses beaten.

Iraqi's Nervous About Democrats

Well why shouldn't they be? In 1991 Iraqi opposition rose up against Saddam and when we didn't back them, they were slaughtered. We encouraged them to rise up, but we pulled a Bay of Pigs on them and they were defenseless against Saddam's forces. Now, with Democrats in power of the House and Senate they are nervous because Democrats are calling for complete withdrawal of troops from Iraq before they are ready to take control for themselves. Sure the Democrats assure the Iraqi's about their intentions to stay, but with Democrats already holding meetings about the possibility of removing all troops by June, Iraqi's are rightfully concerned.

Student's Right To Free Speech

When a professor says that the victims of September 11th were "little Eichmann's", it's free speech. When a student self publishes a newsletter with information on how to prevent women from having pleasure during sex, everyone gets their panties in a knot. I just want to know where Universities get off thinking that they can allow a professor to say whatever they'd like but not extend that same courtesy to the students.

18 Years In Prison Wrongfully - $450,000

To be convicted of anything you didn't do is hard enough, but 18 years? Damn! The worst part is the amount of money this poor man got. $450,000 equals about $25,000 a year. I make twice that. I think about a million or two is more appropriate. This man had to endure 18 years of living with sharks and other predators all the while his friends and family probably abandoned him. The worst part is that they may tax him on the money that he receives!

Saddam Could Be Hanged By Years End

So if Saddam is facing the hangman's noose, where are all the Democrats trying to stop it? After all, according to them, the invasion of Iraq was/is illegal. If that is so, then they should be championing his cause. There should be protests in the streets and slogans be chanted.

But wait, there isn't, and there won't be. You know why? They WANT Saddam dead. They know all of the atrocities that he's caused. They know that he was a threat to the region as well as to us. They don't want to admit that Bush was right to invade and to hold Saddam accountable for the people he had put to death. So, Democrats, if you REALLY believe what you state on the Internet forums about peace, justice, and the illegal invasion of Iraq, you'd better dust off your protest signs if you want to maintain any credibility.

I won't be holding my breath on that one.

Reconstructing Friendly Fire

I believe it's important to find out exactly what happened in every death of an American solider, the details so far into the friendly fire death of Pat Tillman paints a grim saddening view of what can happen in the fog of war.

Friendly fire deaths do much more then kill an American soldier. It brings about psychological trauma to everyone involved, especially the one who did the firing. That person will carry that memory in his head and heart for the rest of his life. He'll have nightmares about what happened over and over again. He'll hesitate and second guess himself on and off the battlefield. Granted many times there are just times when a split second reaction causes a death and it's simply an unfortunate accident, but accident or not, everyone involved feel a deep scar about what happened in their hearts.

Worse yet, some soldiers involved with friendly fire incidents never fully recover and that may lead them to suicide.

American Medical Science

I thought we weren't doing so hot in the Science and Medicine arenas? Well it looks like we'll be the first to do a womb transplant. While not life saving, it is important that all people benefit from medical science and if a woman cannot have children wanted to go through with this, why not? She may give birth to the next Einstein, Mozart, or Mother Theresa. Of course, I'll get some hate mail by someone saying "Yeah? Well she could give birth to the next Hitler, Stalin, or Genghis Khan!" Of course, there's still a possibility of complications, even fatal ones according to the article. But to some women, the reward outweighs the risk.

New Secretary Of Defense?

While the Senate may or may not like this guy, at least on paper he appears to be a solid choice for Secretary of Defense. I think I'd rather have someone who's worked his way up the ranks as well as having leadership roles in various places. Experience is important, and it appears that this guy just may well have himself a new job.

Anyone else think this is an incredibly bad idea? Democratic Hopeful For Presidency

When I gave my little rant about John Kerry's failed 2004 presidential bid, I don't think many people took it serious enough. Just look at this guy. The guy at least has all the standard phrases memorized, but does he have charisma? Does he have a popular following? Does he honestly believe that he can beat out other, higher profile Democrats such as Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama? He certainly has the right to run, anyone does who fits the criteria. But does he have all of the qualities that would make him the next president? If I were a betting man, I'd give his shot at getting at least the nomination about a billion to one.

Open To Ideas

This is what an effective leader does. He listens to any ideas that may lead to improvements. This could be anything from finances to personnel, or even a war. I'm glad Bush has publicly stated that he is open to Democrats thoughts and ideas and even I have posted before about willingness to listen to new ideas. The better question is, Do the Democrats actually HAVE any ideas? Or is it all just rhetoric? Round 2 coming up!

Personal Responsibility In Politics

President Bush today accepted personal responsibility for the loss of the House to the Democrats. He is quoted as saying: "I'm obviously disappointed with the outcome of the election and, as the head of the Republican Party, I share a large part of the responsibility." How fitting, Republican's take responsibility for their loss, but what do you want to bet if the Democrats had lost, they would be screaming "The election was rigged/stolen!" and then they'd offer all sorts of idiot theories on why their argument was right.

Sure, you can accuse me of sour grapes, which wouldn't be true, but am I right?

Rumsfeld Resigns

Well if this turns out to be true, it might be a step in the right direction. There were many high ranking current and former military officials that had major problems with Donald Rumsfeld in the way that he's been handling the war in Iraq. He's no stranger to controversy and conflict with others. However, if Rumsfeld is resigning, I am glad that Bush has nominated a former CIA chief Robert Gates. I like knowing that the Secretary of Defense understands both sides (CIA and Military). There should be a confirmation later on today.

Do You Want To Live Forever?

An interesting article on nanotechnology. While the idea of living forever might appeal to some, there are significant downsides. For example, everyone would have to do it. Would you want to live forever while your wife, children, or grandchildren grow old and die around you? What happens if you have an accident or disease that left you in a vegetative or crippling state? Would you want to live forever then? There comes a point in time where the quality of life is simply not there. I know I wouldn't want to live if I wasn't enjoying life. Of course, if I could go back to when I was 21 and have all the energy and lust for life, sure I'd love to live forever. If I'm 90 and I don't know who I am, who my loved ones are and I'm just waiting for death, someone come up behind me and shoot me in the back of the head. But please, make sure that I'm really in that state. I don't want to be 90 and about to have sex or something fun like that and instead get a bullet in my head. :)

Funny Comments From Around The Office

I work with a bunch of Liberals. After yesterday's election, I posted on here congratulating Democrats on their win. It's called sportsmanship, some of the people I work with should look it up. I overheard a woman today who stated this: "I can't believe we won. I was watching the news last night and I thought "Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, your 15 minutes are OVER.""

I had to laugh when I heard this. It's this same sort of shortsightedness that will doom the Democratic party if this is the way they behave themselves in their reclamation of the House. No one likes a sore loser, but they sure as hell don't like a sore winner. I am wondering what my co-worker meant by such comments. Did she "misspeak" as so many Democrats claim? Does she believe that the employment contracts of her 3 examples will be suddenly canceled and they will be out of a job? Or is she just an idiot who doesn't understand how things work and is just excited that the person she voted for won? I've spoken with her about various subjects and my judgment is for the last option.

I do congratulate the Democratic party on their big win. I am unsure if it was a single thing that pushed voters one way or another, or if it was a culmination of things. But I do think that we need to get back to our Republican roots if we ever want to return to the power we've enjoyed over the last 12 years. Corruption, scandal, and the publics perception on how things are ran are extremely important to reign in if you want to win elections. Stop having sex with interns. Stop being in a situation where bribery investigations could be launched. Stop ignoring the people you count on for advice in world matters. These things matter to people. They want to know that they can trust their representatives to do what's best for the people. When they doubt it, they'll run to the other side.

Hamas Wants To Be Destroyed

I think it's time we stopped fucking around when it comes to terrorist groups like Hamas. Especially when they start threatening us. Targeted assassinations, CIA infiltration, and other behind closed doors techniques should be used. I think it's time to stop with negotiations, appeasement and vague threats. Why do you suppose a nation as small as Israel has been able to survive against overwhelming odds against the larger, more powerful military combined of other Arab nations that seek to destroy them?

Full scale invasion is out of the question as terrorist groups don't recognize territories. Smaller teams such as Navy SEALS, and others should be able to go in, target various known members, and be done with them within a few hours. Election's Almost Done

Well it looks like we're tied in the Senate and we lost the House. To tell you the truth, we deserved this ass kicking. We got away from our core beliefs of lesser government, less taxes, and other conservative views. But one thing you won't hear from us is, "The election was stolen". You won't hear that whining bullshit coming from us like you do with Democrats. So, I extend my congratulations to those that won and ask those that lost to take a good hard look at why you lost. Now the better question is, what do Democrats plan on doing now that they have control over 1/2 of Congress. Do they actually plan on "working with Republican's" or do they plan on ripping out all the hard work that Republicans did to make this country safe and prosperous? Only time will tell.

Slight Update: There are currently 3 seats still too close to call, but it is theoretically possible for the Democrats to win all 3 and take control of the Senate as well.

Condemned Inmates Given Sedatives

Unfortunately, I have to agree that giving sedatives to condemned inmates is a good idea. Here's why: When someone knows they are about to die, instincts kick in and they do anything they can to live. It's simple human nature. It's not unheard of for someone to want to fight to the death to prevent their own death. So for the safety of the correctional staff members, I think it's best to give the inmate a sedative to allow for a smoother execution.

That's not to say that they don't deserve to die a horrible painful way because of what they did, but would you feel better knowing they felt a little bit more pain without the sedative, or would you rather see the family members of the officer that was killed while moving the inmate to the execution chamber?

China Has 1 Trillion Of Our Dollars

I think it's time we got this trade deficit under control. China has 1 TRILLION of our dollars in it's foreign exchange reserves. Granted they have many people working for slave wages, but I think we can do more to get ourselves out of debt from various countries. For example, when we go to a country that needs our help militarily, we say "sure thing, knock a couple bucks off of our debt" We forgive loans and debt to other countries, why can't other countries do the same for us?

Murder 191 People - Do only 40 years?

So the Spain train bombers are on trial and this is what they can expect? The article claims that they are asking for sentences of 38,000 years for each defendant, but under Spanish law, they can only serve 40?? How is this fair to the families of the deceased? If anyone deserved the death penalty for a crime, it should be these guys. Maybe Spain will reconsider it's stance on the death penalty. Unfortunately, I don't think that they will and they will continue to have to deal with this kind of shit.

Election Fear - 2006

How I love Google. It helps me find out just the things I need. :) Granted, it's not John Kerry saying it, but Brent Budowsky, but there are "secret plans" for a forced call up of National Guard and Reserves. Funny how this is just the day before the election. I seem to remember in the 2004 election how John Kerry warned that if he wasn't elected, he implied that Bush would be implementing a draft. He also warned of privatization of Social Security was going to happen as well. But if John Kerry was elected, it was going to be all rainbows and sunshine. Well guess what? He wasn't elected, and there was no draft and no Social Security death spiral.

Mid Term Elections Tomorrow

Well technically the day after tomorrow, but since most of you will read this on Monday, I'll stick with my headline. It's very important that you all get registered and actually vote. I have voted and will turn in my ballot tomorrow morning. I will try to give you an up to date election coverage, but this guy has seemed to do very well in setting up something along those lines. What do you want to bet that these kids don't even know the reasoning behind their "celebrations". I'm willing to bet that they've been indoctrinated to think that America and everyone from there is the devil.
