"This Is Your PATRIOT Act!"

Looks like this little nugget of news is going around the Internet pretty quickly. Basically a college student is asked to leave, then when he won't, he goes limp and acts like a giant douche bag. So the cops taser him. Now, we have a guy who was there's point of view. What's funny, is according to this article, the guy was "encouraging others to join in his resistance". Well that's inciting a riot, and if I were in the cops' shoes, I'd taser him for just that. I don't need 50 other people jumping into an already volatile situation. Let this be a warning kids, if the cops ask you to leave, you leave. If you act like a resisting asshole, you'll get tasered and the only people who will feel sorry for you is a bunch of liberal idiots. The real world will just laugh at your taser marks.

201st Post!

I was going to do a 200th post celebration, but my Mike Tyson entry was the 200th, so happy 201st to me! I've averaged about 4 posts a day. Sometimes the news is slow, and other times it's fast, but either way, I'm sure I'll find something to rant about.

Mike Tyson To Be Prostitute

Sometimes headlines just write themselves. Mike Tyson, CONVICTED RAPIST, is set to be a prostitute in Heidi Fleiss' new men's brothel. Now, Mike loves the ladies I think we can all agree. But what do you want to bet that there'll be a woman who comes in and asks for Mike because she has a rape fantasy? Or better yet, what do you want to bet that a gay man will come in and ask for Mike? I play an online game and I have a gay friend on there and I'd gladly pitch in money if he wanted to get a hold of good old Mike. I don't think he'd go for it though. He's mainly into the Ralph Fiennes and Noah Wyle types. My wife says that both of those guys are cute, so I guess he's got good taste? But what do I know? I like women. ALL women; fat, skinny, cute, ugly, exotic, domestic, etc.

US Concerned About China

I'm a bit concerned myself. China is fastly becoming a superpower in it's own right. I don't mind if another country does so legitimately, but they seem to be trying to steal secrets from us as fast as they can. They don't seem to mind when one of their spies are caught doing it. On the other hand, we seem to be overly concerned about collecting intelligence on them for fear of "offending" them. I'm hoping that this is merely a perception and not a fact. Condoleeza seems to be deferring questions about military buildup of the Chinese.

China has not been secretive about it's plans to get Taiwan back into it's clutches and I think the Chinese are just merely building slowly but surely, and trying to get as much information about our weapons and tactics before deciding on making a move against Taiwan. Hopefully I'm wrong in this, but the evidence is there. Don't believe me? Just google "Titan Rain".

Pahrump, Nevada

I think Pahrump is on the wrong track here. "The town council of Pahrump, which lies in the Mojave Desert west of Las Vegas, voted 3-2 on Tuesday to make flying any foreign flag above the U.S. flag or alone an offense punishable by a $50 fine and 30 hours' community service." I think that if someone wants to fly a foreign flag, that's their business. If it's on personal property, the council just passed a blatantly unconstitutional law. This country is made up of immigrants, and if they want to fly the flag of their home country, that's one of the basic freedoms that the Constitution grants to all citizens.

However, if it's on Government property, then there shouldn't be a reason to fly a flag other then the American one unless they are, for example, having a multicultural center, or museum or something like that. Sometimes when people get stupid ideas in their heads and start to infringe on the rights of others based upon national pride. I'm just as a chest beating, America loving guy as the next, but you cannot infringe on the rights of others to express their freedom of speech, even if it offends you.

WAHH! I Don't Get My Cell Phone For 5 Days!

God how I hate whiners. When a school girl has her cell phone confiscated in class because it was ringing and told she can get it 5 days later, the police have to get involved? The rule was in the student handbook, so therefore she had to have known not to bring a cell phone into the classroom. If you do, there are consequences. This is the problem with "Helicopter Parents". They get so involved in their children's lives that they don't allow the children to deal with consequences of their actions by themselves so they can grow up to be responsible adults. Instead, children now have the mindset of "I'll just call my mom and dad and they'll show you a thing or two".

Just once, I'd love to see a video of a parent dealing with a school official in this situation and see the school official declare "I can plainly see that your parenting skills are the root cause of your child being a spoiled brat. Perhaps if you were a better parent, we wouldn't be having this conversation." I'd have to buy that school official a beer. :) Kids no a days don't seem to understand just how good they have it. When I was growing up, if you were at the principals office, your parents first asked "what did you do". Not "what did the school official do". Plus, teachers had the right to spank your little ass with a wooden paddle if you got out of line, even in front of the class, pants down.

Social Security

I know deep down in my heart unless something dramatic happens, Social Security will be broke by the time I get to retirement age. Basically, I'm just sponsoring a retiree. So, if that's the case, why don't we cut out the middle man and I send Grandpa and Grandma "Lunatic" a check every month? Well the Democrats have already set out to destroy any new ideas that Bush has come up with. Well if you don't like the ideas that the President has to offer, then come up with one of your own. I think that's the sound of silence from the Democrats I hear....:)

Ezekiel 25:17

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

A little off topic, but funny nonetheless.

Briton Heading Home After 18 Years On Death Row In Pakistan

All I want to know is, did he kill this cab driver on purpose? What evidence to they have that he did it on purpose. After all, he did drive himself and the cab driver to the police station. Not exactly the actions of a murderer, but I've seen crazier things. If he killed the man in cold blood, he deserves to die. If he was defending himself, then he deserves to be let free a long time ago.

Democrats Threaten To Cut Funding For Troops In Iraq

Don't believe me? It's on his fucking front page! This asshole wants to cut funding for troops in Iraq in hopes that it will end the war there. Perhaps he'd like to cut ammunition and body armor equipment as well? This is the dumbest idea I've heard in a VERY long time. This guy needs to be demonized and ridiculed for the idiot that he is.

This Is Why Police Officer's Jobs Are Difficult

If I was the cop, I might have shot him. If you point a realistic gun at people, you have to expect the cops to show up and you are very lucky that they don't shoot your sorry ass. Plus, a cop might have thought "If I kill Bin Laden, I'll get the $50 million reward money!". Ok, that last part was bullshit, but still funny. This idiot doesn't understand the dangers he put himself and other in. People have been shot and killed by police for misunderstandings like this.

General John Abizaid

Oh how I love this man. He's not coming out and saying it, but his words convey the message "If you cut the amount of soldier in Iraq, you're cutting the legs out from underneath us and it will end in disaster" This sets the Democrats plan of "progressive redeployment" into a tail spin. This testimony that General Abizaid offered will be pointed at if the Democrats get their way and reduce troop numbers and things go from bad to worse.

Soldier Admits Rape And Murder

I don't think anyone questions that I support our troops. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if a decision is made in the heat of battle and it ultimately turns out to be the wrong decision. A split second is all you have that may determine whether you live or die. In the same situations, I would probably make the same decisions that these honorable men make. However, the rape and murder of a 14 year old girl and her family isn't one of those mistakes that I'm willing to overlook.

These men, if the charges are proven true, will have brought dishonor to his fellow soldier. It is actions like these that make other soldier's lives much more difficult and feeds the propaganda machine for the insurgents. Of course, I know that these actions, if true, are an extremely small fraction of the amount of honorable soldiers serving. I am hoping that the charges are not true, but things don't look very good right now. I'm not willing to "throw them under a bus" quite yet, but from what I have read, there is strong evidence that a horrible crime has been committed here.

I'm glad this guy isn't head of the military

Jesus Herbert Christ this guy is such a defeatist pussy. Rather than just say "we've got to fight harder, faster and smarter then the bad guys and maybe our technique needs to be tweaked", he's willing to just throw in the towel and run home to mommy. Sometimes a good old fashioned ass whipping is what people need, and the insurgents need to be not only defeated, but humiliated in a very public way. Take the fight out of them so they no longer want to blow themselves up for Allah. Build hospitals, roads, schools. Give everyone who comes in a job and the ability to support their family. Have air conditioning in every building you know of. I know when I get hot, I get a bit cranky, so if you couple that with no food, water, or a way to support your family, blowing yourself up doesn't seem like that bad of an idea.

But of course, Michael Hirsh, author of the above linked article didn't think of that. He just wanted the comfort of thinking he went the moral high road and can sleep a little better at night under the umbrella of freedom that is provided by the very men and women he'd like to yank out of the battlefield before the mission is complete. Real men don't turn tail and run. Real men don't let people in need suffer and die. And real men don't knife people in the back when others are trying to do an honorable thing.

Waterboarding - See It Yourself

I ran into this little nugget on the internet. While I think the interrogators went a little light on him, I do believe that this accurately represents what Waterboarding is all about. Khalid Shaikh Mohammed went through this particular interrogation technique and is rumored to have lasted 2 minutes and then gave up the names and locations to many terrorists around the world still planning attacks against us.

While I disagree with Alan Dershowtiz's stance on torture and think that any method that can extract valuable, accurate intelligence that can save American lives is worth it, I do agree with his idea for a compromise. His idea is a "torture warrant". Basically if the President or any high ranking official signs a warrant saying that "X" techniques may be used to extract information from a suspect. Personally, I'd rather torture a man to death then know that my pussy footing around made any information the suspect had useless because it was too late and innocent men, women and children died because of it. But that's just me being a big old softie when it comes to my fellow Americans. And yes, that includes EVERY American, black, white, Jew, Arab, Christian or Muslim.

If You Rob A Man With An NRA Hat - You Deserve This

Ok, so you're a criminal. Fair enough, we all have to make a living. Your profession just makes you scum, that's all. So if you go to rob someone, first off, bring out a real gun, not some piss ant .25. My wife has a bigger gun then that. Secondly, when you are planning on robbing a guy, make sure his nickname isn't "lumpy" and that he's not wearing an NRA hat. That means he's probably armed. I don't wear an NRA hat, but I am armed. I don't like to advertise. It's much more fun to see a criminal shit their pants when you pull a gun of your own.

This particular criminal got off light. "Lumpy" decided to have a standoff for a short while. If I pull my gun on you, I'm pulling the trigger until the gun goes from "boom" to "click".

Veteran's Day

I purposely made this post the last in my list of posts because I wanted it to be at the top of the list. I did not get a chance to say a proper thank you to all veterans, past, present, and future, so I will do so now.

Thank you. I don't mean a simple thank you that you would say to someone who brought you an extra thing of ranch and the local Red Robin, I'm talking about a heartfelt, "I cannot thank you enough" type of thank you.

Soldiers come from all walks of life, but have one simple goal, serving their country. They do things that you and I can only imagine. They face threats that lesser people would coward from. I've said "thank you" to perfect strangers in uniform. At first, they generally wonder what they did, then they get a little smirk on their face and give me a nod in return. I've stopped when soldiers have been stuck on the side of the road with a broken down car. I have a rule about stopping for stranded motorists. If you are a woman, I'll stop for you. If you are a senior citizen, I will stop for you. If you are a father with more then one child, I will stop for you. If you are a man and not in uniform for me to identify you as a soldier, you are on your own. You are a man, you should be able to stand up, dust yourself off, and walk to the nearest pay phone.

The only exception to my rules is if I am driving out in the middle of nowhere and you are stuck. You will receive my help, even if you only need to use my cell phone.

I'd like to take this post to thank the two veterans in my life. First up, Tim.

My friend Tim was in the Navy a long time ago. He'll go into stories about this or that, and chat with me about his computer problems, which I gladly fix. He'll tell me he's thinking about re-enlisting because the benefits are better for his new wife and 4 daughters (sheesh, 4 girls and a wife. He's the only guy.....) Anyways, when I chat with him about such things, the underlying tone of his conversation is "I want to do what's best for my girls". It's never about "I'd like to go kill someone" or "I'd like to go play with missiles again." He's constantly thinking about ways to make life better for himself and his family. His way of thinking is what makes him a good Sailor.

Next up: Grandpa.

Grandpa "lunatic" is more near and dear to my heart for many reasons. Duty, honor, loyalty, family, are all words that he takes seriously and has done so for the past 70+ years. Grandpa was also in the Navy, but in the 1940's. When my father and I went to go live with him when I was very young, he made sure to save his Hostess cupcakes for me from his lunches when he got home because he knew I liked them. He'd take me fishing and let me reel in the fish from his fishing pole because I wouldn't fish properly. I'd play "worm water skiing" with my fishing pole. He'd get a bite and then he'd hand me the reel and say "you got one Travis, reel him in" and then give credit to me to everyone back home. I think I was around 3-5 years old at the time.

When we'd go hunting around age 5-7, he'd let me hold his rifle. We'd never get a deer because I made too much noise. I'd talk normally and you could hear the echo in the mountains very clearly. Deer were much smarter then I was back then. :) On our drive home, I'd mention we didn't get any deer, and he'd always say "Well it must be because you're such a great hunter. They were too scared to come out of their hiding places."

Grandpa would always lead by example. When my father became a flake and abandoned me at a young age, Grandpa made sure that I had a father figure in him. He'd never give you advice that he didn't already use or believe in. Some of his kids (my aunts and uncles on my fathers side) didn't turn out to be responsible, outstanding members of the community. My aunt, his only daughter, is constantly whining about how life is unfair and how difficult it is to get a job. She's moved back in with him more times then I can remember. She's 10 years older then me and I don't understand why she can't seem to get what life, responsibility and being an adult is all about. I've seen her borrow $50 from Grandpa when he knows she's not going to pay him back. His honor and commitment to family overshadows his reservations about giving her money he needs himself. I've had many conversations with her and have scolded her about Grandpa's finances. I told her he should be taking cruises to exotic locations and having his way with Grandma whenever he likes. He should be taking Grandchildren fishing or working out in his shop making something fun for himself. But it's Grandpa. You can tell him your concerns all you want, but he'll just tell you "She's family." and you know he's right.

So after all the times Grandpa's taken me under his wing and led by example on how to be a man, I finally found a way to give a small token of appreciation to Grandpa. Warning: I'm gonna gloat here a bit.

Growing up, Grandpa and I would watch boxing together. We'd bet a quarter on who would win and he would almost always win, but he'd never make me pay for it (I'd usually do chores or something to pay off the quarter). Anyways, Grandpa's never had a TV bigger then 20". I don't know how he can stand it personally. I know Grandpa's never had a TV bigger then that because he's always making sure that his kids are taken care of, even if his kids are Grandparents themselves and still haven't figured out if you mouth off to your boss, you'll find yourself out of a job. So, I had a house built a little while ago, and was living with a friend of mine up at his place while it was under construction. I was planning a theater room with a new projector and the whole nine yards. Well once construction was complete, I had my old 65" HDTV that I had no room for. So, I had the idea to give it to Grandpa. With some help from some very large men, I brought Grandpa his new TV.

The first thing we did after hooking everything up was turn on a boxing match. It took me back 30 years to when I was sitting on Grandpas lap screaming at the guy in the green trunks to get up off the floor. You could see the pride in his eyes because everyone generally uses Grandpa as a bank and someone was recognizing all the hard work that he put in to making sure that kids were fed and toes had shoes and heads had roofs over them.

Grandpa, Thank you very much for your service to your country. Thank you for showing me by example what it is to be a man. Grandpa lives and breathes what it means to be a soldier.

Tim and Grandpa, and every other Veteran out there, Thank You.

Iranian Spy Drone?

Iran is showing footage claiming to be from an unmanned spy drone of a USS aircraft carrier. So this is the military might of Iran? Pretty pathetic if you ask me. We have satellite images that can show car license plates and headlines off of newspapers from hundreds of miles up in space. We have missiles that can be fired from thousands of miles away and be put through any window of any building we choose. So go ahead and show your "military might" Iran if you must, we all know it's just a big dick contest to you and you won't win that one either. :)

China - Friend Or Foe

China has lately been poking it's nose around our military a lot lately. I'm very concerned that they may be preparing for a showdown with us over Taiwan. Just google "Titan Rain" and you'll see all the shenanigans that they have been doing over the past few years. War games where we show them our stuff but they won't show theirs, actively stalking our aircraft carriers, spy rings being broken up, none of those things points towards an open and friendly relationship with a massive trade partner.

I think what bothers me most is our lack of response. We're afraid to call them out on the things that we're doing and we're not spying back on them hard enough. Read the article, it clearly states that Admiral William J. Fallon has restricted intelligence gathering against China for fear of being found out and the consequences of damaging relations with China. We should be actively spying against China to find out what they are trying to find out about us. If they find out about it, they should be told "well you do it to us, we only thought it was fair". Let them taste what it's like to be spied on and have their military secrets exposed.

Although I am wondering why we aren't doing something more aggressive about it, maybe there's no reason to? Is China's military that unsophisticated? They are trying to steal secrets from us so they don't have to research and develop their own. Perhaps they are so far behind that they feel the need to do this? My gut feeling on it is that they need to be told "if we do military exercise with you in the future, you will show use your command and control center like we've shown you. Otherwise, you won't get another exercise with us."

Democrats Are Cowards

Man, I really hate being right on this one. But the Democrats are already asking for troop withdrawals withing 4-6 months. When Generals are asking for more troops, these idiots want to reduce. It will give the insurgents a thought of "if I can wait it out, I can claim victory". Which they will. It's one thing to ask for a different point of view, it's another to cut the legs out from underneath the troops. Democrats will ask for, and probably get, troop reductions to appease their constituents. Then they will see a rise in attacks against our troops and point to Bush and say "See, I told you he couldn't be trusted running this war". Cowards, Idiots, Assholes, whatever you want to call them, bookmark my words and see what happens if they get their way.

Rumsfeld Out Sooner = GOP Win?

This is an interesting theory, but I don't give it much credit. I think that in some races that were very tight, it might have made a difference, but there are too many races that weren't close. Had Rumsfeld been out sooner, say around the time he was under fire at the beginning of the war, it might have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, we'll never know.

Kennedy Murderer Has Sentence Upheld

I'm glad this piece of shit has to serve out his 20 years to live sentence. Serves him right. He's not arguing that he didn't do it, he's arguing about the statute of limitations. The problem is that a law was passed one year after the murder that removed a 5 year statute of limitations on crimes that didn't involve the death penalty. Had the statute of limitations run out by the time the law was passed, I would unfortunately have to agree that Michael Skakel would have to be set free. But there was 4 years left on the statute when the law was passed that removed the limitations. It's arguable either way, but to be beaten to death by a golf club is a brutal way to die. It's also very troubling to know that the Kennedy family covered it up. Which by the way, is a Democratic family. Draw your own conclusions.
