Between A Rock And A Hard Place
So left wing idiots who are a big part of the Democrats core constituency want us out of Iraq right this second. The problem for Democrats in power is that they cannot bring our guys home immediately as the Iraqi's would disintegrate without our support for the foreseeable future. So what to do? Well many on the left have suggested that the Democrats cut off funding for the Iraq war. Thus, our guys can't fight without equipment and supplies. This will supposedly force George Bush's hand into ending the Iraq war.
The problem with this is that it's political suicide. If you are a Democrat, do you listen to your constituents and cut off funding? That would get you into a shitstorm like you wouldn't believe. You can bet your ass that in the next election that vote would come up and you'd be asked "why do you bitch and complain about the lack of proper equipment in the beginning of the war, but then later on vote to cut funding for it?" If you don't vote to cut funding, you risk losing a big part of your core voters and risk losing your job in the next election.
It boils down to doing what's right vs. what's popular. Let's see which way the wind blows for Democrats. I'm sure they'll do what's popular instead of what's right. Personally, I'd rather disagree with a politician and have them say to me "I voted this way because I thought it was right and here's why" rather then have a politician who has zero backbone and will do anything to remain popular, even if it is to the detriment of something or someone.

Spain Doesn't Get It
You don't negotiate with terrorists. It never works. It only emboldens them to make further demands or kill more innocent people. They learned that with the train bombings that killed 200 people, and now they are learning it again with another bombing by the ETA. Spain bailed out of Iraq shortly after the bombings and that further emboldened terrorists to think that they could get Spain to bend over and take it whenever terrorists had a demand. You'd better gain a backbone Spain, you have a lovely country and wonderful people. I don't want any more bad things to happen to you. You are at war with people who want to kill you. Kill them first. It worked for the Israeli's.

"Intelligence" Chairman Claims Iraq Intelligence Manipulated
He states :"We now know that the intelligence was cherry-picked and manipulated." But he doesn't want to do anything about it. Well we seem to have a problem here. Either A) He's lying about intelligence being manipulated, or B) He's too chicken shit to stand up and do something about it if intelligence was manipulated. If he had hard evidence that intelligence about the Iraq war was manipulated, he could cause a shitstorm like this country has ever seen. But he doesn't want to pursue it. Why? Plus, this guy is the incoming intelligence chairman, you'd like to think that he has a firm grip on who we're dealing with. He doesn't.
A Congressional Quarterly reporter recently gave Reyes a pop quiz about al-Qaida and Hezbollah. Reyes answered that al-Qaida, a Sunni extremist group, was "predominantly, probably Shiite." Asked about Hezbollah's religious roots, he replied, "Why do you ask me these questions at five o'clock?"
I'm not too comfortable having an Intelligence Committee Chairman not know basic things about our enemies. Especially enemies who've killed 3,000 Americans. I expect this guy to know more about Al-Qaeda and the Middle East then I do. I expect him to have satellite photos and HUMINT on each and every person known in Al-Qaeda. I expect him to have surveillance on each one of those people and each person that they have contact with. For him to have such a limited knowledge about such things makes me VERY nervous.
Well I hope he can recover from this major misstep. The Democrats are now in control of Congress and they have one of their own as the top guy on the Intelligence Committee. If something goes catastrophically wrong, then they will just prove my point that Democrats are weak on terrorism and intelligence gathering in general.

Good. If moderates stand up and tell him and their children that terrorism isn't right, recruitment into Al-Qaeda will dry up and they will eventually disappear, either through capture or being killed. So keep it up moderate Muslims, it's good to hear your voices.

Sorry For The Lack Of Posts
Sorry the posts have trickled down to just 2-4 a day. The holidays are a busy time for me and I've been trying to keep up on keeping my usual 5-10 posts a day pace. With Christmas, Birthdays, and other festive events, it's difficult to keep up with posting. So I at least wanted to post about the major events going on. I'll be posting much more here within the next few days.

15 Years Too Late - Saddam Executed
Good God, it's about time! This in my opinion was the biggest mistake of the first Gulf War. I think we should have gone after Saddam then and possibly avoided the second Gulf War. We had much more support then and could have easily taken over. But there were many problems with that line of thinking. First off, street to street fighting is very dangerous and we had "only" 250 or so deaths up to the point of driving Saddam out of Kuwait. Casualties certainly would have gone up. Secondly, George Bush Sr. didn't want to look like a bully on the international stage. We had completed our objective of driving Saddam out of Kuwait with casualties lower then anyone had ever dreamed of. Regardless of whether or not this quells any violence in Iraq, Iraqi's can now look forward to never having to deal with Saddam's brutality again.
By the way, I'm still waiting to hear from Democrats about protesting his execution since this was supposedly an "illegal and immoral war". I suppose we could have just asked Saddam nicely to get out. Oh wait, we already did that. Face it Democrats, you wanted Saddam out as much as us Republicans did. The only difference is, we actually meant it and were prepared to do something about it. You just like to second guess things and pretend to have a plan of action.

You Want To See Why We Support Israel So Much?
A friend of mine was kind enough to point me to this nice little document just declassified earlier this year.
How about Yassir Arafat knew and approved a plan to kidnap and murder US diplomats in 1973 by Black September. For those of you who don't know, Black September was also the group who carried out the kidnap and murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympic games.
So if any of the Palestinians want to know where our deep rooted support for Israel comes from, look no further then that document. And look who Yassir's sitting next to, his good buddy Bill Clinton with whom he visited many times in the White House.

Russian Hijacking Foiled
You bet your ass it was. Do hijackers really think that they can get away with it after 9/11? Everyone is now afraid they'll try to slam the plane into a building. So when someone stands up to take over the plane, the entire plane stands up and whips the ass of the hijacker. It's going to be that way for a VERY long time. Everyone on the plane now thinks, "We may go down, but you're going to die first".

John Edwards Running For President
Good luck buddy. Perhaps he hasn't read my article on why him and John Kerry lost in 2004. John Edwards simply has no charisma. He's also very wrong for president for many reasons. Here's a perfect quote "I've learned since the last campaign that it's great to identify a problem ... but the way you change things is by taking action."
Really John? You mean problems just won't go away by themselves? You mean to tell me that you're just NOW learning that you have to face up to your problems? You should have learned that by Kindergarten. You mean to tell me that you're confirming my thoughts that you and John Kerry really didn't have a plan of action but you told the American public that if elected, you would make things better?
This is the problem with the Democratic way of thinking. They love to Monday morning quarterback things and second guess tough decisions made by others, but they don't want to make tough decisions themselves.
A better quote from John Edwards "It would be a huge mistake to put a surge of troops into Iraq," Edwards said on ABC's "Good Morning America. "It sends exactly the wrong signal. We can maximize our chances for success by making clear we are going to leave Iraq and not stay there forever."
Our guys on the ground are asking for more troops. Experts are calling for more troops. Yet, John Edwards seems to know what's best militarily for Iraq? Even his running mate John Kerry foreign policy advisor Rand Beers is quoted that John Kerry "would not rule out the possibility” of sending additional U.S. troops to Iraq.
Then there's the well intentioned but laughable without a plan "Guaranteeing health care for every single American". How are you planning on paying for that John? Doctors aren't cheap. There's a reason for that. They go to school for a VERY long time and spend upwards of $250,000+ on education. Do you think that they are all of a sudden going to work for $10 an hour? Do you think that the hundreds of millions of dollars that goes into researching new drugs and treatments don't need to be paid back into the R&D budget for pharmaceutical companies? I don't know about you, but I want a doctor who makes a lot of money treating me. I want him to be the best in his field. My health is very important to me and I don't want some med school dropout working on me.
Then there's the usual "Strengthening our middle class and ending the shame of poverty," "Leading the fight against global warming," and "Getting America and the world to break our addiction to oil." promises that most politicians promise. Tell me John, where's your plan of action on these items? I want to hear some concrete ideas coming from the Democrats, not some pointless finger pointing and empty promises.
When George W. Bush pushed for tax cuts, I got more money in my pocket. What did I do with that extra cash? I paid off debt and bought items. Those items were taxed. That's how the Republican party makes tax cuts and additional income work.
As a side note, let's not end the shame of poverty. It sounds cruel, but hear me out. When I was poor growing up, there was a stigma attached to being poor. I hated it. I busted my ass to make my life better by getting an education, working hard, and making a life for myself. If you say "aww, you poor thing, let's just give you a handout", where's the incentive for that person to make their lives better? If I didn't have to work and could live comfortably with all the latest and greatest goodies, I certainly wouldn't. Sure we can offer job training and low cost services to the poor, and I'm all for that if the person has drive enough to make their lives better. But let's not say that if a person just doesn't want to work because they are lazy and don't want to get a job that they deserve more then a single mother who rides the bus to work and then on to school to make her life better for her and her children.
John Edwards simply isn't the man for the job.

Here's an update on the Iranian arrests reported earlier. It appears that it's lead to further arrests for...surprise!...weapons smuggling. And of course, Iran is stating that the arrests of the diplomats that were arrested and released because of diplomatic immunity "will have unpleasant consequences". Big shocker there. So we're to believe that we cannot go after people who are arming militia's who are attacking our soldiers over there? I tend to agree with that statement. I'm wondering though how is it that he was buried there in the first place? I know that there was a loophole in the law, but isn't there some kind of waiting list or something? I know I'd be pissed if a convicted killer got into Arlington and my loved one did not. It brings dishonor to those who are there now to share the same sacred land with someone who murdered elderly people. Fuel Requirement Changes Unfair - GM
You're telling me that the engineers at GM are so stupid they cannot think of a way to get better fuel mileage then their Japanese counterparts? That's bullshit and GM knows it. When things change or times get rough, you either adapt or die. It's just that simple. I'm willing to bet that if the CAFE requirements are put in place, all of a sudden GM will be able to meet those requirements. Honda and Toyota seem to do just fine with their fleet of cars, trucks, and SUV's and still make them fuel efficient. So why can't GM? Easy, they can, but they don't want to. They are complacent. And being complacent will get you eaten alive in the business world.

Iran Possibly Caught Doing An Act Of War
Oh man, what a Christmas present for me. Iranian military officials possibly caught inside Iraq planning attacks against the Iraqi security forces. If you ask me, if this turns out to be true, this is an act of war. This is what everyone was talking about when they said Iran was interfering with the security of Iraq. This is what our men over there were talking about when they said the explosives from IED's were coming in from Iran. Now we have possible proof of it and Iran will have some HEAVY explaining to do.
If you ask me, I say we squeeze some information out of them, and bomb whatever facilities that are responsible for causing grief to our troops and the Iraqi security forces. Here's to hoping that this is true. Come on, big money! No whammies!
