More Proof "Surge" Is Working

Interesting how when the gloves come off and our guys get reinforcements, how violence seems to go down significantly. So, will the Democrats be against this as well? There are people alive today because of the actions that our soldiers and our President are taking.

Iraqi PM Says Things Going Well

Hmm..you'd think getting this sort of news would be on the front page of every news organization in the country. The guy who's on the ground and can say first hand how things are going is saying things are working out well. I wonder if Democrats will see this as a "vast conspiracy" against their troop increase opposition?

Pelosi: Bush Can't Act As Commander In Chief

Did this girl actually read the Constitution before she was elected? Does she not understand that the President has authority over the military and can order strikes where and when it's deemed necessary? What's worse is that she's being two faced about it and actually admits it:

Pelosi, D-Calif., noted that Bush consistently said he supports a diplomatic resolution to differences with Iran "and I take him at his word."

Well if you take him at his word, then why do you need to do political grandstanding in the public and undermine him at every turn Congresswoman Pelosi?

Granted Bush has taken a beating in the public view latel
y, and he's been a bit too quiet about it for my tastes, but I'm glad that he's finally waking up to it and saying something about it:

"This may become the first time in the history of the United States Congress that it has voted to send a new commander into battle and then voted to oppose his plan that is necessary to succeed in that battle," the president said.

The Senate unanimously confirmed Lt. Gen David Petraeus last week to take over as the top U.S. commander in Iraq.

Bush said it best: "Defending U.S. intelligence that has pinpointed Iran as a hostile arms supplier in Iraq, Bush said, "Does this mean you're trying to have a pretext for war? No. It means I'm trying to protect our troops."

Added Rep. Geoff Davis, R-Ky., a West Point graduate who was a flight commander with the Army's 82nd Airborne: "This nonbinding resolution serves no purpose other than pacifying the Democrats' political base and lowering morale in our military."

Exactly my point. Congressman Davis nailed it right on the head.

When his turn came to speak, Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas., said, "There is a better way of protecting our troops than sending more of them to be killed."

Really Congressman Doggett? Well if there is a way, we're all ears. Anything? Hello? Is this thing on? The problem is that Democrats time and time again show that they are full of fluff and bring nothing to the table in terms of real solutions.

There's concrete evidence that Iran is supplying insurgents with advanced weapons and explosives, but Democrats don't seem to give a shit about it. They say they support the troops, but where's the evidence of that? Where's the Democrats stating "the sniper rifles found on insurgents is bullshit and I want those who are responsible for it found and punished". The problem is that you won't find any. They are cowards in the face of an enemy and want to do nothing but blame America for the worlds problems.

Our Priorities

So, this Anna Nicole Smith's death thing has really stirred up a bunch of news in the press lately. I'm gonna be a bit cruel here, but it's called tough love for a reason. I don't care that she's dead. I think we should care a lot more about people who truly contributes to society. For example, what did she do for society, act as an example of what not to do?

When you have allegations that she purposefully underfed her newborn baby so it would be "sexy", I actually believe allegations like this simply because of past behavior from her. She's a gold digging, promiscuous train wreck who didn't deserve the attention and adoration of the American public. Who hasn't come out to state that they could be Anna's baby's father? Hell, I could have been. You know, I was walking down the street, I tripped, fell, and accidentally put my prick in her. Happens all the time.

Who does deserve our attention and admiration you ask?

Katherine Schaefer, the researcher who came across a potential cancer cure.

Mr. Piper, my 10th grade English teacher.

Dr. Jonas Salk, cured polio.

Soldiers, past and present.

Firemen who rescue you from car crashes, fires, etc.

Your parents, who raised you through good times and bad and was supportive all the way. The one's who paid for college, fed you, clothed you, loved you.

Cops, Firemen, Veterans, Doctors, Teachers, Day Care Workers, Mechanics, and many, many others.

Sure, Anna Nicole Smith's life was a train wreck and did spike the interests of those in the general public if only because it was a train wreck, but If you want to make America a better place, you need to thank those who actually DO make it a better place.

Ricky Martin

So, apparently Ricky Martin's career is taking a nose dive, so naturally, he tries to stir up controversy, and what better way to do that, then to follow the sheep and come out against George Bush. He even performed at Bush's inauguration.

From the article: "My convictions of peace and life go beyond any government and political agenda and as long as I have a voice onstage and offstage, I will always condemn war and those who promulgate it," Martin said about his action in an e-mail statement sent to The Associated Press via a spokesman.

So, gathering from this, he's also against the war in Afghanistan? He was against WWII? He was against the Revolutionary War? I guess him and his buddy John Mellencamp can get together and talk about what they wouldn't do. That's a pretty blanket statement from him and it's nothing more then a way to get his career back on track. Think about it, when was the last time you heard any music from him? It's been a while hasn't it?

Italian Court Indicts 35 Over CIA Flights

I think this is really all for show. They haven't asked for extradition, probably because they know they won't get it. They know that these people will never serve a day in jail for it, so the logical solution is that this is all for show for the Italian public to show them they are "doing something about it".

But the real bottom line is that Italy really isn't going to be "after" those CIA folks simply because we help protect Italy and it's interests as well. It's all smoke and mirrors.

Russia's Whining Again

Good God, it's like their children. First, they decide to make statements about us and the Iraq war on how what we're doing fosters terrorism. Then they create strategic alliances with other countries for the soul purpose of countering us. Then they sell nuclear reactors to known terrorist states. Then they want to hamper our efforts to get Iran to open up about their nuclear program. But then they start to whine because we offer eastern European allies access to our missile defense shield and they threaten to withdraw from a nuclear treaty we have with them??

Well that's what they say in public. In private, they say: "The US official said Russia had privately told the US it wanted medium-range missiles to counter Iranian threats while arguing publicly that the lack of Iranian missiles meant the US did not need a defense system."

So if they see Iran as a threat and need medium-range missiles, why are they continuing to sell them nuclear technology? It doesn't make sense. But if Russia is going to continue to act against our interests, then they need to man up when we work to protect those interests and our allies.

The Other Side Of The First Amendment

Granted, I respect the guy's honesty, even if I totally disagree with him. But alas, like I've said before, there's consequences to things that you say. You have the right to say them, but people have the right to do something about it if they legally can. Democrats And Gun Control

Here's a perfect example of what I mean by Democrats and their uncontrollable lust for Gun Control.

First off, the gunman in Utah killed 5 people, not 10.

Secondly: "In Philadelphia, a gunman opened fire on his colleagues using an AK-47 assault rifle he legally purchased."

If the guy purchased the firearm legally, then there's nothing that you can do about it. There are AK-47's all over the place in America. Most are owned by law abiding citizens. If someone decides to flip out, there's nothing you can really do except take him out.

Thirdly: "These dangerous weapons, which are intended to hit multiple targets in a short period of time, were allowed back on our streets when the federal ban on assault weapons expired in 2004."

Ummm. Sorry sweety, but I've been able to purchase an AK-47 legally even during the Assault Weapons Ban. The Assault Weapons Ban had nothing to do with the fact a man who owned one legally went nuts and killed a bunch of people.

Lastly: "I have again introduced legislation to permanently ban assault weapons. These weapons have no practical use. They are not used by hunters for sport or by individuals for self-defense. They are intended to kill as many individuals as possible in a short amount of time and have no place on our streets. The unfortunate situation in Philadelphia could have been avoided if Congress stood up to the gun lobby in 2004."

Patently false. I don't need a reason to own a particular weapon. Just because a weapon may not fit your definition of hunting or self-defense purposes doesn't mean I can't legally own it. If you don't want those weapons, don't buy them. But don't think you can infringe on my right to own any weapon I'd like.

Philadelphia could not have avoided the shootings they had because the weapon was purchased legally and he could have had access to that weapon even while the ban was in effect.

If you want to get down to brass tacks, the Second Amendment doesn't say anything about criminal records, automatic weapons, or anything else prohibiting gun ownership. We as a society put those into place.

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

French Authorities Arrest 11 Terrorist Recruiters

Hopefully this will help stem the flow of insurgents coming into Iraq. Every little bit helps. While French President Chirac claims that the Iraq war has caused more terrorism, it is better this way because if it had not been for the war in Iraq, then who's to say where these terrorists would have gone to wreck havoc? They could have bombed a civilian area such as a mall, church, or day care center. I would rather they go against the toughest military in the world rather then unarmed civilians. So if we're going to catch heat for that, just think about what would have happened if they had not gone to Iraq.

Teacher In BIG Trouble

Granted, this woman needs to be fired and charged with a crime, but you can bet your ass that if this child is told to be quiet next time, she'll be quiet. Kids these days know nothing about respect and responsibility. Warning: I'm gonna have one of those "back in my day" paragraphs.

Back in my day, the teachers each had their own paddle to spank you with if you got out of line. You were genuinely afraid of your teachers. Now it seems like kids try to pull any amount of bullshit they can because parents let their kids get away with much more then you and I ever did. If you were caught screwing around in class, you got paddled by the teacher, sent to the office, and then sent home. In my neighborhood, we had little old ladies who were retired and when they saw me walking home from school early, they paddled me too for getting in trouble at school. Then I had to deal with my dad paddling me for the same thing. "Wait until your father gets home" was a common phrase used in my house. There was no scarier sound then a car pulling into the drive way and a belt clearing belt loops.

Now you can't sneeze without hitting a bad parent. Kids screaming about new toys and parents giving in, throwing items, calling parents names, etc, are all normal behavior I see in public now. I've even told a parent: "if you want me to turn around while you slap your child for doing that, I'll gladly do so" and then the parent does nothing. Parents are afraid of CPS, the police, and other people who want to tell them how to raise their kids without discipline.

When my children start school, I plan on having a meeting with the principal and let him/her know, if my kid acts up, you have every right to spank them. I will gladly sign anything they want stating I won't sue. Children need structure and need to know that actions have consequences. If they don't, they'll get a rude awakening when they enter the real world and have to deal with real problems.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't care as much about the Taliban as much as I care about Al-Qaeda. I want the Al-Qaeda's leadership's heads on a pike in front of the White House. Yes, the Taliban needs to be taken care of as well and do need to be eliminated, but I would love nothing more then Bush to give a speech and say "we got Bin Laden". Hillary Needs To Bone Up On Politics

I guess she doesn't understand the term "Commander In Chief". Now, if she meant a strike on Iranian soil, then yes, I think it would be wise for Bush to get permission from Congress. However, if the Iranians are working against our interests in Iraq and supporting the insurgency, then there shouldn't be any reason why Bush should go to Congress for anything. Protecting troops and civilians isn't something you need "permission" for. It's something that's automatically done.

Funny, I don't hear Hillary or any other Democrat question why more than 100 very expensive, very advanced sniper rifles that were purchased by Iran have gotten into the hands of insurgents.

Immigrant Pays Back The USA

So we take in a family from Bosnia that survived the Srebrenica massacre. They live here for 6 years peacefully and make a life for themselves. But how does the son pay back the country that welcomed him and his family with open arms? He goes on a shooting spree in a Utah mall, killing 5 people.

Some news organizations are pointing out that this kid was a Muslim. I don't care about that. I care that we took in his family, gave them every opportunity to make a life for themselves, and the son decides to kill 5 citizens of a country that gave them a new lease on life.

Iraq Plan Called For 5k Troops?

Apparently, there was a thought that by this moment in time, there were only supposed to be about 5,000 troops in Iraq. Clearly this isn't the case, but it gives you a look into the mindset of military planners and how sometimes things can be dead wrong. Fortunately, there's many Iraqi's on our side and it's just a matter of getting the other side to lay down their arms and help rebuild the country.

If ordinary Iraqi citizens want us gone, there's a simple way to do it. Stop fighting, turn in militants, and roll up your sleeves to help rebuild. Those 3 things will get us out of your country quicker then anything.

Iraqi And American Forces Surround City

It appears that the Iraqi's are now starting to "get it" when it comes to the security of their country. They are conducting further raids, finding weapons caches, and making the city safer against the death squads that are randomly killing innocent civilians.

But the real odd thing is that Muqtada al-Sadr is now supposedly in Iran. I guess his whole "we'll fight the American's" line of bullshit only applies to his men instead of him. He knows that if he's in Iraq, we'll find and capture him for the amount of damage he's caused. This goes to show you that Islamic militants really are cowards and only like to spew their bullshit when they know they can't be touched. The minute that a real fight starts, they tend to run away, blend in with civilians, and hide behind women and children.

World Powers Meet To Counter US Influence

Sounds like a good idea to them on paper, but there's a ton of reasons why it won't work.

First: China is known for it's underhanded tactics. Just take a look at Titan Rain to know what I'm talking about. They'll pull that same kind of crap with Russia and India and there will be mistrust amongst the group.

India has a solid relationship with us. I doubt they'll bit the hand that feeds them as we are a major trading partner with them. Also, we provide nuclear technology to them, so I think it would be in their best interests to stay on our side.

Russia is in no position of power on the world stage. They STILL haven't fully recovered from their collapse in the early 90's. Sure, they are a world power, but they don't know how to regain that past glory because they don't know how to run a country properly. Long lines for basic necessities, major internet related fraud and spam comes from their country, and corruption beyond what you can image are some of the major problems that Russia still has to deal with.

Sure, they'd all like to be major world powers, and who wouldn't want to be? The problem is that they all have mistrust amongst each other and a three way relationship like this simply won't work.

I'm not saying to not keep an eye on them, I'm just stating that the relationship doesn't have a good chance of succeeding.

John Mellencamp

Wow, I knew this guy was a big pussy, but holy crap:

Singer John Mellencamp on the ‘Charlie Rose Show’ said the removal of the Taliban after 9/11 was wrong, but further Mellencamp stated if the United States knew exactly where Osama bin Laden was it would be wrong to drop a bomb on OBL’s head.

Mellencamp: I think what would have been appropriate is exactly what we’re going to have to do right now.

Rose: What’s that?

Mellencamp: Talk to people.

Rose: Who do we go talk to? Do we call him up and say, “Osama, can we talk about this? We’re not real happy about this. Can we talk about it?”

Mellencamp then said we should talk to “the Muslims” and ask “where are we so far apart here?”

Later in the interview Mellencamp says he doesn’t know how he’d respond to the attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II because he doesn’t really know what happened. He says he’s read books, but he doesn’t know if history is always right.

This is exactly why we don't ask musicians their opinions on world events. They are usually sheltered from the real world by "yes" men and have their every wish catered to. John doesn't seem to give a shit that we were attacked first. He doesn't seem to give a shit that 3,000 of his fellow countrymen were slaughtered for no reason other then they some delusional asshole decided he didn't like us one day.

Democrats And Iraq

So it appears that they are trying a "slow bleed" method of trying to stop the war in Iraq. Unfortunately for them, it appears that even rank and file soldiers are finding their behavior appalling: "Soldiers Angry At Democrats? ABC World News last night asked a couple of US Army sergeants stationed in Ramadi, Iraq, "what they thought of the resolution." First Sgt. Louis Barnum, US Army: "Makes me sick. I was born and raised a Democrat. When I see that, it makes me sad." Sgt. Brian Orechowski, US Army: "I don't want to bad mouth the President at all. To me, it is treason."

It certainly does reek of Democrats wanting to cut funding for troops and it also gives our enemy a date with, if they just hold out long enough, that they'll use for propaganda against us.

Democrats are the "sheep" of this "sheep, sheepdogs, and wolves" article I ran into earlier today. Don't believe me? Read it and take notice. Denial, hiding behind sheepdogs when the wolves come, not liking sheepdogs, it's all in there. An excellent read.

Democrats And Symbolism

What the hell is going on with Democrats lately that they want to draft legislation that is symbolic in nature and only wastes valuable time and energy of the government? Isn't there more pressing matters that need to be taken care of? I guess not if Westchester, NY County Legislator Clinton Young has the time and energy to symbolically ban the word "nigger"

Personally, I find the malicious use of the word to be offensive and I don't use it in my personal life. If rappers and comedians want to use it in their respective fields, it's not my business to tell them they can't. It's called Freedom of Speech for a reason. I never hear of legislators wanting to ban the words: Cracker, Spic, Honky, White Devil, Wetback, Chink, or any other offensive racial slurs, so why did Mr. Young only want to ban this particular word?

Race and racism is a touchy subject for a lot of people, but I can't and won't shy away from sensitive issues simply because they are sensitive. If racism is in someone's heart, the only person that can change that is the person who's heart needs to change and there's no amount of legislation that will change that.

Iran Supplying .50 Cal Rifles To Insurgents

So tell me, how is it that more then 100 .50 caliber rifles are being found in insurgent hands? These weapons are more than $10,000 each and within 45 days, one was used to kill an American soldier. All of these weapons were part of a shipment to Iran.

There's simply no way in hell that an insurgent can get their hands on a $10k rifle and within 45 days be using it against us unless the Iranian government is involved. If they were stolen, the Iranian government would have said so. There would be news reports about it. But the Iranian government didn't do that. The plain fact is that these rifles were purchased from Steyr-Mannlicher and that company said it was a part of a shipment to the Iranian government and now more then 100 of them have mysteriously shown up in the hands of insurgents. This is an act of war and should be retaliated against immediately. We don't have to invade Iran, a simple bombing run will get the message across.

An American will stand up and defend what's right, even if it's not what's popular. An American will give you the shirt off his back so that you can be warm at night. Murtha VERY disconnected from reality

You have to see this to believe it. John Murtha is stating that once we're out of Iraq, then the Iraqi's will take care of Al-Qaeda in Iraq and poof, no more Al-Qaeda there. I don't know what kind of bullshit they are feeding this guy, but he really needs to come down back to reality. If Iraq could root out Al-Qaeda by themselves, then them with us could root it out faster then right?

Obama Apologizes For Troop Remarks

Just when you thought Democrats couldn't screw up any further, one of their up and coming stars blurts this out : "We now have spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted."

So that begs the question, what did he mean by "wasted"? Does he mean that all 3,000 that died did so in vain? The Democratic side certainly thinks so and has shown it time and time again. It certainly does appear that way since he apologized for the comment immediately. It shows that even he thought what he said was wrong. Now, does that change my attitude towards him? No, I still disagree with him on many levels about many issues and don't think he's right for the job. Luckily for him, this comment was made WAY before the Presidential elections and will probably be forgotten by most of America by the time the elections come up. Unfortunately for him though, I won't forget.

Iraq Closes Borders With Syria, Iran

While I agree with this move, I think that the border should be closed for a much longer period with Iran. 72 hours isn't nearly long enough. Sure, international trade still needs to happen, but transport vehicles can be searched at the border. Hopefully this helps keep insurgents from crossing the border with new supplies and such.

Train Hits Woman

Well don't talk on the phone and be eating at the same time near a train station. We've become too involved with interconnectivity to notice the world around us. And, unfortunately, it cost this woman her life. Now maybe we can work on idiots who use cell phones and not pay attention in traffic, we'd be a bit better off. :)

You're A Doody Head!

Now Al-Qaeda's #2 guy, Ayman al Zawahiri is calling George Bush an "Alcoholic liar". While that can be dismissed as a mere personal attack, what should be pointed out to Democrats and the American public is:

On the tape, Zawahiri also condemns American Democrats "as one side of the same coin of tyranny, criminality and failure" for failing to challenge Bush policies as they said they would in the election.

The tape, apparently aimed at an American audience, contains English subtitles and a warning that American civilians are responsible for Bush policies because they "chose Bush twice."

I've told you many times before that this is a war of Al-Qaeda Vs. America, not Vs. Republicans, or white people or any other group. Don't think you can appease people like this. Don't think because you're a peaceful, hippie type that they won't come after you or you won't be killed because of one of their plots.

War is a nasty, ugly thing, and when one side decides that civilians are fair game, then the rules of the game changes.

North Korean Deal Inked

I don't know if I like this. On one hand, it's nice that they've agreed to stop their nuclear program. On the other, they actually had a net gain on the original deal they had with us in 1994. What does that tell them? That we can be bullied into a greater deal if they decide to develop nuclear weapons. How do you suppose that looks to the Iranians? On top of that, what's to become of the weapons they have already made?

Another One Enters The Ring

Mitt Romney is now officially running for President. Too bad this guy is all over the map on the issues and supported the Assault Weapons Ban. I like Rudy Guiliani on a lot of the issues, but that Second Amendment is near and dear to my heart and I won't give up my guns to anyone and there's certainly no one who can tell me what kind and how many guns I purchase.

House Debates Blowing Wind

The House is currently debating if they want to, kind of, possibly, maybe, disagree with the President's sending further troops to Iraq. Of course, they will back this up with absolutely nothing and just use it as political fodder for their constituents.

"See, I voted against sending additional troops". What about actually doing something about it? Congress can't be bothered with something like that. There's really not much they actually can do seeing as how the President is the Commander of the armed forces. But they'll shake their fists and tell the kids to get off their damn lawn. It's pathetic to see Congress waste their valuable time on something that will get literally nothing done.

Iran - A Double Edged Sword

So with Iran's nuclear program and the suspected support of insurgent groups, it's easy to point a finger at them and ratchet up support for airstrikes against them. On the other hand, when they arrest Al-Qaeda suspects in their own homeland, it does paint them in a ever so slightly more favorable light. I think there needs to be some VERY high level diplomacy going on right now between the two countries and see if we can't work out our differences. However, the support of terrorist groups needs to stop now because if they are found to be working with the insurgency, which I believe they are, it would be considered an act of war and then all bets are off.

European's Giving Up On Iran Already

An internal EU document states that Iran will get a nuclear weapon and that there's nothing they can do about it. Way to stand up for your beliefs and for what's right guys. There is something you can do about it. Roll up your sleeves and get to cracking on diplomacy and possible airstrikes. Force is the last thing anyone should think of, but it's your JOB to make sure that things such as the Iranian nuclear situation doesn't happen. If you can't do it, then let someone who can do it.

Russian Government Turning Into Pussies

So President Putin can rip us a new one, but if our Secretary of Defense states “We don’t know what’s going to develop in places like Russia and China, in North Korea, in Iran and elsewhere.” they want "clarification".

Man up boys, if you're going to throw around vague threats and make us out to be the bad guys on the international stage, you can expect a little jab yourselves from us in return.

Tenative Agreement On North Korea's Nuclear Program

Well it is encouraging that they are willing to talk, but I think that they should pay a penalty for their reneging on a 1994 deal we had with them. Had they said "look, our old deal was great and all, but our growth is explosive and we'd like to renew the agreement if you're willing to help us out with our energy needs", I bet they would have gotten a much nicer response then what they've gotten now.

America is willing to help countries around the world, but you have to play nice. Acting like a spoiled child just gets you isolated and makes your country suffer more then it needs to.

No More Satellite Tests For China

Well they can say that, but who's to say that we can trust them on it? China's gearing up for a fight over Taiwan and they are poking here and there against our defenses to test the waters and see if it's worth it to go to the mat over the island. I'm beginning to think that they don't want a fight with their biggest and best economical partner. I wouldn't bet money on it, but it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on them.

Armitage Taped Talking About Plame Identity

I don't care who's leaked her name, I want an example set for anyone involved in this. I don't care if she told the entire world her true employment, it's still against the law to reveal the name of a CIA operative. What I'd really like to see is prosecutions asking for the death penalty or a life sentence for such things, including treason, espionage, and revealing classified information.

The security of the US is of utmost importance and when people get 5-10 years for committing acts that endanger the lives of our intelligence community members or the American public, there needs to be swift and severe consequences.
