Lack Of Updates - Coming Soon

I have to go out of town for a funeral on Thursday and Friday, so I won't be updating the site until Monday. I tried to get in as many posts as possible to tide you guys over until I return. I will be checking and answering emails during that time though.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Confesses

Khalid has confessed his role in planning, financing, and supporting the 9/11 attacks as well at the 1993 WTC bombing as well as almost 30 other crimes. It's not likely that Khalid has much of a defense against the allegations. Now, just pick up Al-Zahiri and Bin Laden and I'll be significantly happier.

Iranian Sanctions Coming

Oooh, I can't wait to see what they have in store for Iran. It's going to be a fun ride folks. Iran could have avoided all of this by opening up a bit more and allowing their uranium to be enriched offsite, but they chose to go the defiant way and that makes them look guilty of making weapons. Plus, with extra evidence piling on that they are indeed trying to make weapons, it's not likely that Russia or China can talk their way out of support for Iran.

Hillary Dodges Gay Question

It's pretty telling when she sidesteps such an easy question. "Do you think homosexuality is immoral?"

"Well, I'm going to leave that to others to conclude," she said.

That's not what the question was Hillary. It was do YOU think it's immoral. It's not difficult to say "yes" or "no". That's why I like George Bush significantly better then Hillary. He'll give you a straight answer, even if it's one you disagree with.

Hillary's Double Standard

So when people decided to jam phone lines in 2002, it's "election fraud". What about 4 Democrats who slashed tires to prevent Republicans from voting? "A silly prank". Let's hear Hillary condemn these people like she's done to Republican's for so long.

Travis
travis@rightwinglunatic.com

Democrats Copying Republicans

Now they seem to think that Bush's tax cuts are ok and the we can also raise defense spending. It's always humorous to see Democrats between a rock and a hard place. They squirm a lot. They don't want to cut defense spending for looking weak against terrorism and supporting the troops. On the other hand, they don't want to eliminate Bush's tax cuts because it will put the squeeze on middle class people. If the middle class has less in their hand at the end of the year, they'll remember that Democrats were in charge of Congress during that time and they'll get voted out of office.

They'll do anything to remain in power, and this goes to show you that they'll deviate from their standard core belief of "tax and spend" agenda to remain so.

We're Tracking Moqtada Al-Sadr

Good. His ass is always provocative, but he never wants to get his hands dirty. Typical cowardly thing to do. He's currently in Iran and wants everyone to believe that he's with them and that he's a true leader. Well he's safe and sound in Iran not leading his militia. Pretty good leader eh?

Atlanta Official Goes To Prison Over Bribes

His excuse? He took the $36,000 in bribes "for the people. You get to see what a real chicken shit this guy really is when he's defiant and flipping off people outside the courthouse, but once he gets in he's saying: "I stand before you today extremely remorseful, with a heavy heart."

Here's an interesting twist:

But U.S. District Judge Joseph Rodriguez took into account that while Callaway was out on bail awaiting sentencing he set up a rival councilman to be filmed having sex with a prostitute and tried to blackmail him into resigning.

I'm just glad that he's been barred from seeking public office ever again.

Security Crackdown Working

Killing of US soldiers is down 60% since the crackdown began earlier this year. Of course, I'd like it to be down 100%, but I'll take what I can get. This is proof positive that the increase in troop levels and the crackdown is working.

Russian - Iranian Relationship Unraveling

It's not my birthday, but good God, news like this makes it feel like it is. Iranian legislator Rasoul Sediqi Bonabi had this to say about the recent news that Russia is withholding nuclear fuel for it's power plant due to non payment: "Russians are extortionists, Moscow has never been a reliable partner and will never be so in the future."

Good going idiot, tell one of your few allies that they are extortionists and aren't, and will not be reliable partners. That's sure to win them over. Let's see how the Russian's react.

A Russian analyst, Alexander Konovalov of the Moscow-based Institute for Strategic Assessment, said Monday the shipment had been postponed for political reasons.

"The Kremlin apparently realized that it's more important to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons than to maintain good relations and continue bilateral trade," he said.

Happy Birthday, Christmas, and New Years to me. Now only if we can get the Chinese on board, we'll be in serious business.

General Pace Won't Apologize

AT&T Getting Asses Sued

For spying on Americans. They were kind enough to spy for the US government without warrants and now that it's come to light, they have a major liability on their hands. Qwest was the only phone company that balked at the governments request and they now don't have to deal with a potential multi-billion dollar liability lawsuit. Odd how that works itself out.

Russia Warns Iran

Well lookie here. Russia is warning Iran of "irreversible consequences" if they don't pay up for the nuclear reactor that Russia is building them. Perhaps this is the face saving way out of things for the Russians. It makes them look friendly to Iran, but still denies them access to a nuclear plant. Either way, it's important that Russia knows Iran should never have access to possible nuclear weapons capabilities ever. With their support of Hezbollah and Hamas, it's not inconceivable for them to hand off a weapon to detonate in Tel Aviv or New York.

Should that happen, I say bomb Iran until it's nothing more then a parking lot full of green glass. No one wants that to happen, but actions now could save thousands, or even millions of people's lives.

The "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy"

Yes, Hillary is spewing off again about how there's a "vast right wing conspiracy" against her and Democrats. She said the same thing when her husband was caught getting a hummer from the chubby chick who works in the mail room. I'm sure that Republicans were responsible for Bill whipping it out and making a stain on the infamous blue dress. It all makes sense now.

It's called personal responsibility Hillary, you should look it up. Blaming others doesn't make you a good leader, it makes you a whiner.

China To Extend "Firewall"

For those of you who don't know, China has a vast firewall and censors the Internet pretty heavily. Political and social sites are the biggest target of censorship. This site is not accessible through that firewall. So when they say that they are going to "purify" the Internet, it's in everyone's interest to make sure that the Chinese people know of ways to get around that firewall. Information wants to be free. :)

James Cromwell - I Used To Like You

You may not recognize the name, but you'd recognize the face. He's been a father figure in many of the movies and tv shows I enjoy, but alas, he's decided to go off the deep end and blast the country I live in. So, Mr. Cromwell, I won't be enjoying your movies anymore. Sorry it had to end this way, I really enjoyed you in Space Cowboys.

"I can't handle living in the United States of America when I know the last two elections were rigged, and that we were denied our right to vote, where we live in a country where 32 percent of the people vote and even those people's votes don't count, and the people who should really have a stake, kids, don't have any say at all – people of color, very little to say, unions, practically nothing any more … we're losing our jobs. …"

It's so like Hollywood types to run off to a foreign country and bad mouth the country that gave them the opportunities that made them who they are today. It's even worse when you have liberals who do nothing all day but complain and do nothing to fix the problem. The last two elections weren't "rigged". They were close, granted, but they weren't rigged. Had they been, John Kerry would be screaming at the top of his lungs for a recount. He didn't because he knew he was beaten fair and square.

Do you hear Republicans calling for recounts because they lost the congressional elections in November? No you don't, because when Democrats lose, it's rigged. When Republicans lose, it's because they lost fair and square.

Sor Mr. Cromwell, I bid you farewell. I hope you never return to America.

Muslim Worker Refuse To Touch Pork

If you won't do your job, you won't have a job. Target has a couple of "super center's" around the country that sells groceries. We don't have one of those Target's in my neighborhood, we have just the regular ones. Regardless, if I were in Target's shoes, I'd fire the person or reassign them immediately. It's ridiculous, and even other Muslims have comments like wise, for people to accommodate a small group of people when that group won't accommodate in response.

Nancy Pelosi Getting Booed

Ahh, poor Nancy, she's so used to people kissing her ass and hating George Bush, that she didn't seem to grasp that there are people out in America who see the real world for what it is and are willing to support efforts to fight those who are threats to us.

"Pelosi said the U.S. military campaign in Iraq had to be judged on three accounts: whether it makes the U.S. safer, the U.S. military stronger and the region more stable."

Let's examine those shall we?

Is the US safer? I'd argue it is. Yes, we are hated around the world, but that was true on 9/10, regardless of what people tell you. When was the last major terrorist attack in America? Can't think of one can you? The fact is that terrorists are going to Iraq to "fight the infidels and drive them out of Iraq". I'd rather that then them going into mainland America and fight an unarmed civilian group. Saddam is dead, his Baath party is beaten, and the Iraqi's are glad to be rid of him regardless of what you hear in the media. Let's not forget that Saddam had planned terrorist attacks against the US and the intelligence that pointed that out was from Russia. The same Russian people who opposed the Iraq war in the first place.

The military is stronger? What conflict in history made the US military stronger? There isn't one. Soldiers die, equipment is destroyed and it's rough on everyone, even those who make it home in one piece. That's a bullshit argument from Pelosi.

The region more stable? Yes, that would be a nice thing to have, but the goal isn't regional stability, it's to remove a threat to the US and it's citizens. Did we care if Iraq was stable after the first Gulf War? What about Japan, Italy and Germany after WWII?

Nancy Pelosi is simply after power, not what's right for everyone involved. You won't hear her say that the war in Iraq was illegal and that we should have never have removed Saddam from power. Why? Because she knows that it was the right thing to do, regardless of what her liberal constituents would have you believe.

Australian Islamic Clerics Preaching Tax Cheating?

According to Islamic leader Fadi Rahman, extremist clerics are telling their followers to cheat the Australian tax system because it chides with their version of Sharia law. Mr. Rahman brings up an excellent point: "I mean, just like how you've got clerics (with) extreme views who are telling the Muslims in the western world to declare war against the very country that they live in and the very country that is paying for their day to day life, you'll find that these are the clerics that are telling them to dodge the tax system."

I say good, let them cheat the Australian tax system. It gives them an excuse to throw them in jail for long periods of time. Give the government that you're at war with a reason to send you to jail, good plan genius.

Of course, the clerics deny this, but why would they admit to tax evasion? Watch the Australian IRS get involved into this little nasty discussion. I'm sure their American counterparts would love to help the Australian government find and prosecute tax cheats.

"Mistakes Were Made"

Mistakes were made? What kind of lame ass excuse is that? Please Mr. Gonzales, stand up and be an adult and say "I fired these people for X reason". Don't pussy out on us and tell us that "mistakes were made". What really burns my ass is that there's already Democrats who's blowing this WAY out of proportion. For example: Senator Schumer states: "The latest revelations proved beyond any reasonable doubt that there has been an unprecedented breach of trust, abuse of power and misuse of the Justice Department. And that is very serious and very important."

What Senator Schumer DOESN'T tell you is that when Bill Clinton came into office, he fired ALL 93 attorney's, not just 8. Hillary Clinton is calling for Gonzales' head as well (way to come to the party late Hillary), but it's not because of Gonzales' questioning habus corpus, but because of the recent firings.

But check this out:

When Clinton's husband took office in 1993, one of the first actions his attorney general took was to remove every U.S. attorney. Clinton was asked how this was different from the termination of eight U.S. attorneys last December.

"There is a great difference," Clinton said. "When a new president comes in, a new president gets to clean house. It's not done on a case-by-case basis where you didn't do what some senator or member of Congress told you to do in terms of investigations into your opponents. It is 'Let's start afresh' and every president has done that."

Sorry sweety, but you're wrong. Every President hasn't fired every US attorney. While it may be common to "clean house", firing of the entire US attorney's across the nation is a bit more than "cleaning house", it's getting rid of political enemies.

Marine General In Trouble Over Gay Comments

While I personally think that gay and lesbian people have the same rights as everyone else, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even if it's not a popular one. General Peter Pace was answering a question about the effectiveness of the militar's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

"I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts," Pace said in the interview. "I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way."

That's just his opinion. He's not a policy maker, so his opinions don't mean squat in that area. People seem to get upset when someone gives an answer they don't want to a question they asked. If you don't want to know the answer or think it may be unpopular, don't ask. We all don't share the same beliefs and live in sunshine rainbow land. Personally, I don't care if gay people want to be in the military. Good for them to help support our nation. If certain people have a problem with it, that's their problem.

Democrats Yank Iran Item From Iraq Bill

Now it makes you wonder why they would do such a thing?? Why would they take out a provision that states that Bush can't attack Iran? They surely aren't for a war with Iran. I'll bet it's because they are slowly but surely starting to see that Iran is actively involved with the insurgency in Iraq. However, I do love the opening line. It's so poetic: "Top House Democrats retreated Monday from an attempt...." It's almost like the person who wrote the article had a bias or something, or he could just be calling it like it is. :)

Khalid Getting Detention Hearings

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the September 11th attacks, is pretty lucky if you ask me. If he perpetrated this vast crime against any other nation on earth, he'd be dead long ago. And if it was a particularly brutal nation that he did this against? He's probably be tortured to death. Personally, I'd have him burned at the stake, but that's just my anger boiling over.

But alas, he's getting the "kid gloves" treatment because of sissy international organizations wanting a "fair and unbiased trial" and other such nonsense. Well if anyone is going to be tried in military tribunals, it's definitely this guy.

US, Libya Negotiating Nuclear Relationship

See, it is possible for a terrorist nation to renounce it's ways and work towards a constructive relationship with the US. Iran and Iraq have found out the hard way that sponsoring terrorist activities can have drastic consequences. However, our nuclear relationship with Libya is for medicinal purposes only, not electrical or weaponized programs. If, and that's a BIG if, Libya and the US ever get that cozy, you may see something like that in the future. But for right now, it's baby steps.

Iranian Official Blasts "300"

It's always funny to see people get worked up over movies, games, and music. It just goes to show you how close minded these people are. Javad Shamqadri, who's an art adviser to Iranian President Ahmadinejad, is saying that the new movie "300" is "part of a comprehensive U.S. psychological war aimed at Iranian culture." What's funny is that he's a filmmaker and "said that production of more domestic and artistic films which portray Iranian achievements is a proper response to movies like "300".

So with a movie that comes out as sheer entertainment rather than a documentary, it's needed to have an Iranian counterpart to offset it? If that's the case, where's the Iranian counterpart to "True Lies", "The Siege", and other movies that had Middle Eastern villains as part of the story? Easy, there weren't. It's because people saw the movies for what they are: simple entertainment. How many of you who saw these movies and thought bad things about Middle Eastern people afterwards? I'm willing to bet that it was none of you. The reason is that we can separate movie fantasy with reality, even if that movie is based upon reality, even though there are others who can't.

Nearly 1/2 Live Payday to Payday

How the hell is this possible? Are people that stupid that they don't think that one day they may find themselves out of a job?? I guess so. What's more troubling is that 19% of people making more than $100,000 a year are living payday to payday. What kind of out of your limits living are you doing if $100k a year isn't cutting it? I can understand in a high standard of living area like New York or San Fransisco, but anywhere else, you shouldn't have this problem.

I used to work at an electronics firm YEARS ago and a senior engineer gave me this advice that I'll share with you: "Never live above what unemployment pays". If you have a standard of living that exceeds what a typical unemployment check is, you are in for a rude awakening if you're ever called into an office and laid off.

Typically, unemployment pays approximately 2/3rds of your typical weekly paycheck up to a limit of around $500 a week. Of course, it varies from state to state, but that's pretty typical. If you can't live on $500 a week, you need to get rid of that expensive car, move to a smaller place, or cut back on your daily $4 latte.

My wife and I personally do pretty well for ourselves. We don't live above what unemployment pays and since she now makes more then I do thanks to her Master's degree, it's very unlikely that we'd both find ourselves without a job. If that were to happen, we'd be fine. Sure we might have to cut back on eating out a few times a week, but nothing drastic. We won't lose our house, our cars, or anything of that nature. Take a good, hard look at yourself and your finances and create a "plan B" and you'll sleep a lot better at night.

Iraqi VP Meets Iranian Nutjob

I must give credit to the guy. He went into Iran and said: "The message I gave them yesterday [Saturday] is not to turn Iraq into a battlefield for settling scores with the United States or any other countries at our cost."

That's important because it let's Iran know that they aren't going to put up with Iranian interference anymore. It's not even worth mentioning that Iran, of course, is denying involvement in Iraq. Everyone likes to point out that there were explosives factories found within Iraq as proof of Iran's non involvement. But no one can seem to explain away over 100 $10,000 sniper rifles that were found on insurgents that were originally shipped to Iran from the factory. When they explain that one away, I'll be a bit more convinced.

Cheney Goes On The Offensive

Say what you will about the guy, but I do like the fact that there are times when he'll tell it like it is. Democrats, as a whole, are very short sighted and don't think as long term as they need to. They are willing to give into their constituents without doing what's right. It's best that terrorists fight our well equipped military then unarmed civilians in an office building.

Sure it sounds like "the boy who cried wolf" a little bit, but Democrats were ripping into Bush for not doing enough about September 11th, and now they are complaining about doing too much about another threat. You can't have it both ways. Pick which side you're on Democrats and try not to let the yellow streak down your back show too much.

Guatemala Tense After Bush's Immigration Stand

What I don't get is why are they irritated by that? Wouldn't they want their citizens to stay in their country? Why don't they want their citizens to follow our laws when it comes to citizenship? Russia Warns Iran Over Nuclear Plant

Oh goodie! It appears that Iran is having problems paying for the nuclear plant that Russia is building for them. Thus, no money, no plant, or at least a delay in that plant.

Russian engineers are close to finishing Bushehr, jewel in the crown of Iran's nuclear programme, but have repeatedly postponed delivery of atomic fuel and the start-up of the reactor.

Under the latest timetable, fuel had been expected this month, with the reactor launch in September. Russian negotiators arrived in Tehran Monday to discuss resolving the financial squabble at the heart of the postponements.

A fresh delay would be a blow for Iran, coming on top of pressure from Western capitals that accuse Tehran of secret plans for an atomic weapon, as well as the possiblity of new UN sanctions.

There were even signs Monday that Russia, which has lucrative energy and weapons trade in Iran, is losing patience with its partner.

The three main Russian news agencies quoted an unnamed source close to the authorities accusing Iran of "abusing our constructive relations."

"We absolutely do not need Iran getting a nuclear bomb or the potential to make one," the "informed source" was quoted as saying. "We will not play any kind of anti-American games with them."

Well it's about time that Russia has stepped up to the plate and started being responsible. Let's all get some popcorn and see how this pans out.

Ranger Robs Bank To “Bring Light War Crimes”

Oh absolutely, sticking a gun in a bank teller’s face is the perfect way to bring to light war crimes perpetrated by special forces. Everyone knows that. His claims of war crimes were investigated by Army officials and were found to be unsubstantiated. Sure, you could argue that the Army is covering it up, but if that’s the case, why are there prosecutions for other war crimes?

If the Army wanted to, they could cover up a lot of things, but one thing they always do is, as a whole, serve with honor and there are rules that must be followed.

So this kid decides to purchase hand grenades, AK-47’s, and body armor and rob a bank. Well if it was for ideological reasons, why purchase the hand grenades? This guy’s story is full of holes and it doesn’t add up. Here’s a perfect comment from the criminal “genius” himself:

“I’m smart. If I wanted to make money, I’d sell pot. If I wanted to make money, I’d sell heroin. If I wanted to make money, I’d be a professional assassin. You know, like there are so many different things,” he said. “What do I need to rob a bank for?”

A real winner there. These young men don’t seem to understand that when you commit a crime against a civilian, it hurts the image of the military as a whole. They don’t understand that there’s a chain of command where they can confidentially tell someone about “war crimes”. Bursting into a bank with automatic weapons, masks, and body armor isn’t going to do anything but terrify the occupants of the bank and earn you a trip to military prison for a very long time.

Newt Admits Affair While Pursuing Clinton Over Lewinsky

Yes, I admit this makes him look like an extreme hypocrite. I even admit that I think he’s a bit of a hypocrite for it. However, he does make a perfectly reasonable assertion: “The president of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge”

That’s what people seem to want to forget. The whole Monica issue wasn’t the fact that Clinton was banging away on an office intern. That’s not our business and I couldn’t personally care less. What the President does with his prick is no ones business except him, his wife, and who he’s trying to put it into.

What the whole impeachment issue was about was Clinton being sued for sexual harassment and when he got on the stand, he lied. That’s a crime and should be prosecuted. Now, I’m willing to allow Clinton to serve out his term and be prosecuted for that crime after he leaves office. That’s where the “it depends on what your definition of “is” is, comes from. I watched him make that statement and my bullshit meter went off the scales. Yes, I can understand that admitting to an affair is personally embarrassing and I wouldn’t want to admit it either, but when you’re testifying under oath, you open yourself up to perjury charges later on if found out. That’s what happened to Clinton and because he was President at the time, why he was being impeached.

So, Newt certainly does look like a hypocrite, and I’ll be the first to call him that, but the fact is that Newt wasn’t under oath at the time when he was having his affair. That’s where the difference is. Had Newt testified that he wasn’t having an affair and this came to light, he would have been prosecuted and possibly impeached as well.

73% Of America’s Youth Unfit For Army

That’s pretty telling. Especially when you have a quote like this: “are morally, intellectually or physically” unfit for service.”

The physically part is easily rectifiable. Simply get the kids into a gym and show them all the girls that they can get while in the military and you’ll have them in shape in no time. I’m currently in Oak Harbor, Washington, which is a Navy town and there’s literally military groupie girls EVERYWHERE. You can’t step 5 feet without running into a young, very attractive woman with a “I love Navy guys” shirt on.

I should know, men, especially young men, will do almost anything to get girls. If they see that military guys are getting all the girls, they’ll think twice about all the other benefits that the military offers.

The morally one is troubling. Today’s youth don’t know much about honor, duty, country as much as they should. Or perhaps they do know, but just don’t care. The Internet has made the world a very small place and many youth see the military as a threat to their international friends, regardless of the truth.

Today’s youth, as a general, want things now. They have even been branded the “entitlement” generation in the media. They see their favorite artist driving around in a Bentley with tons of girls and a big house. What they don’t see is that artist going from town to town touring, scraping by, making almost nothing for years, even decades. Expensive items need to be earned. Respect, honor, power, all come with years of paying your dues and getting your teeth kicked in over and over until you overcome your obstacles.

I didn’t have my big house, multiple cars and hot ass wife (she reads this site from time to time, so I have to say something nice. J ) when I got out of high school, even college. I’ve been fired from jobs where I’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve been on the verge of bankruptcy many times and could have easily thrown in the towel at each instance. But I didn’t, I didn’t want to “start over” financially. If you want to get anywhere in life, you simply have to earn it.

The intellectually one is just the way it is. Some kids are just stupid. Other kids should be working on their master’s degree at age 8. It’s just the way that life works. Stupid kids who don’t want to better themselves simply will have low paying jobs and be scraping by for the rest of their lives. Stupid kids who hire tutors, work hard, and show ambition can grow up to be a 2004 Presidential loser. Smart kids go to college, join the military, and become pillars of their community. Police officers, firefighters, doctors, attorney’s, right wing political bloggers are examples of smart kids.

If you’re just a stupid kid and want to remain that way, you go for it. But you’ll find no other country on Earth that gives you more opportunity to better yourself and pull yourself above the poverty line.

RIAA Suing More Students

While I agree that copyright infringement needs to be taken seriously, the RIAA is becoming more and more heavy handed in it’s tactics against infringing folks. Sure, there are kids who don’t want to be sued into oblivion but want music for free, but I’ve seen more and more the RIAA wrongfully suing people and then not apologizing for their mistake once it’s found out. What I think the RIAA is finding out is that going after your core demographic audience with such tactics will fail miserably and will only alienate those who’s support you need the most.

Personally, I have a LOT of mp3’s in my collection. But they’ve all been legally purchased or ripped from cd’s I own. I don’t share that music across the internet and I don’t download music from the internet that’s not legal. The reason is that I don’t want to get sued by the RIAA and I want to support the artist I buy from. That said, my music purchases have gone down significantly in the last several years.

Music has become too bland and there are nothing but “me too” bands all over the place.

Take any rap star, 90% of their music is “I have big cars, lots of girls, and a row of teeth filled with a precious metal or gems.”

The same can be said for country music “my wife’s cheating on me, I have a pickup truck, and I like to line dance”

Good God, don’t get me started on boy bands and the Britney Spears clones.

I’ve purchased 3-5 albums in the past 10 years. Weird Al’s “Straight Outta Lynnwood”, which I’m glad the kids are getting into Weird Al. I bought my first album of his WAY back in the early 80’s. “Christmas At Ground Zero”, “The Night Santa Went Crazy”, “Yoda”, and “It’s still Billy Joel to me” are some of his better songs. You really can’t go wrong with any Weird Al album.

Metallica’s “St. Anger” I was curious how they would sound after Jason left the band. Sorry to say it, but there were two songs I liked, not loved. Metallica used to put out great albums. 1991’s self titled album and older are the best ones. They used to sing about deep topics along with furiously fast, complex music. Any one of those albums are an easy pickup if that’s your style of music. Hopefully their next album will be better, as they’ve hired Rick Rubin to produce and gotten rid of that God awful Bob Rock.

Hayseed Dixie. These guys are great if you’re into the “Weird Al” type of music. They don’t do parodies, but they take normal, hard rock songs and perform them as country songs. Normally I’m not into country music, but these guys are the extreme exception. I HIGHLY recommend you check them out.

Some Murderers In Jail “Too Long”

Holy crap, this guy is a judge! He argues that many people in jail for murder may actually die in jail and that they are no longer a danger to society. Therefore, they should be released from jail.

Let’s break this down. Say, God forbid, that your loved one is murdered. Shot, stabbed, or any other way you can end someone’s life. You will no longer be able to have a conversation with them. You will never see them grow old, have children, grandchildren. Your memory of them will fade when you grow older until they are erased from existence. Now, should the person who ended that persons life be allowed to rebuild their own? Why should a person who killed another, be allowed to grow old and feel the grass underneath their feet? Why should they be allowed to re-establish relationships with their loved ones outside of jail? They hunted down and killed a person and that makes them a threat to society, regardless of age.

In the US, we rarely parole murderers and when we do, they are usually very old by then and we place extreme restrictions on them. It sounds like revenge to want to keep a person in jail for the rest of their lives, but when a person is sentenced to life, they need to serve out that life sentence.

FBI Admits They Broke The Law

Today, Justice Department head Alberto Gonzales admitted that the FBI had abused the Patriot Act after an audit found many problems. They found that statistics were underreported, agents asked for information without authorization, and agents even lied in order to get the information that they were after.

This is a clear case of official misconduct and those agents involved should be disciplined or fired. In cases where they lied, they should be prosecuted for perjury or other appropriate crimes.

This is from the same Alberto Gonzales who questioned the very rights that are guaranteed under the Constitution less then a few months ago. While I support all law enforcements efforts to capture and prosecute criminals and spies, there are rules that need to be followed and if they are not, innocent Americans are sometimes victimized. That is completely unacceptable and needs to end now. With two major screw ups under his belt, it’s time for Alberto Gonzales to resign.

We simply cannot trust a man who questions the very freedoms we enjoy under the Constitution with his weakly veiled attempt at semantics. Yes, it’s most likely just a few agents who acted out of line, and we certainly shouldn’t judge the entire law enforcement community based upon the actions of a few, but with Gonzales, if you can’t trust those who’s job it is to run things, then they need to be replaced with someone who can.

As a side note, notice how Ted Kennedy tries to push this upon the Bush administration even though he clearly has nothing to do with it. Ted Kennedy is trying to politicize an event and gain points among his constituents. Perhaps we should blame the administration that was in power when Ted Kennedy decided to let that poor woman drown to death in the accident he caused while he came up with an alibi?

Ballistics “Expert” Lied About Qualifications

This is particularly distressing. A ballistics expert killed himself after evidence came up that he lied about degrees that he never earned. This could put thousands of criminal cases up in the air. While there will be cases that this guy was involved in where it won’t matter much, there’s bound to be cases where ballistics evidence played a crucial role in convicting someone of serious crimes.

There theoretically could be innocent people in jail or with criminal records that don’t deservedly have it. You can expect defense attorneys to have a field day with this one.

Accused Child Molester Cuts Monitoring Belt To Attend Springer Show

"Outrageous nuptials! Returning guest Mario is a proud father and is ready to marry his baby's mother - who's also his half-sister". And an accused child molester.

You just can’t make that kind of crap up folks. Sometimes the headlines, even the articles, write themselves.
