British Public Pissed At Sailors

So the British sailors who were captured, then later released by the Iranian government are now selling their stories to the media. That's not going over very well to the British public.

Personally, I'm on the fence with this one. Yes, I think that if a soldier could make a few bucks and not harm national security interests, I don't see the harm in them selling their stories. They generally make shit for wages, so if they could make enough money to buy themselves a home, I don't have a problem with it.

On the other hand, it does seem a bit tacky, but I'm not in their shoes, so I can't really judge them on this point. But the British government has said that it was ok for them to sell it, so it's really a moot point.

You've Created A Monster

So "peace mom", political activist, and media whore Cindy Sheehan has noticed that her 15 minutes are slowly coming to an end, she decides to turn on her own kind. She criticizes Democrats for not doing enough to end the war in Iraq.

"They got there and they betrayed the grass roots that put them back there," she said. "We can't depend on the Democrats."

Well odds are that sooner or later you'll be correct at least 50% of the time, and she's right: you can't depend on Democrats.

What I find audacious is that she urges President Bush to end the war now. Who cares what happens to the Iraqi people? President Bush should listen to her because she's the "squeaky wheel" right? After all the names she called him, after all the protests and slogans against him, now she wants him to listen to her and not dismiss her as an idiot? Fat chance sweety. You should take a look at your watch, those 15 minutes are running out fast.

They Do It Again

So ANOTHER Democrat has met with a terrorist group. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer met with members of the Muslim Brotherhood. While the group has officially renounced violence, they are a banned group in Egypt. Meeting with these people will piss off those in Egypt who support us.

Jon Alterman, a Mideast specialist at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, said Bush administration officials may have avoided meeting Muslim Brotherhood members because it could strain relations with the secular Egyptian government, one of the closest U.S. allies in the Arab world.

I'm wondering when John Murtha is going to have a "heart to heart" with Osama Bin Laden.

Michigan Democrats Are Idiots

Wow, only a Democrat would think this would be a good idea. The state of Michigan is facing a $1 billion dollar budget deficit and Democrats have proposed a tax increase on various items such as junk food, soda, and satellite tv service for....get this.....an Ipod for each child enrolled in school. I guess the idea is for podcasts and data storage or something like that. We all know kids are responsible when it comes to expensive pieces of electronic equipment. :)

And it's rightfully not going over well with state citizens. So, busting your ass, paying taxes and now, you're tax money is going to go towards some kid having a popular music player that will be lost, stolen, damaged, or sold on Ebay. Even if you don't have kids, you'll still be paying for it.

What happened to responsible spending? I don't go out and buy a laptop every 2 weeks because I CAN'T AFFORD IT. Well, I could, but I wouldn't be able to make my mortgage payment or car payment. The latest text books, high speed internet access, higher salaries for teachers, are all needed resources that schools need. Take a look around the Internet and you'll see what kind of sorry shape kids are in these days. That's why I advocate for year round school schedules. The first few months is spent relearning the things that they were taught the last part of the previous year.

I Can Predict The Future!

Now only if I could predict the winning Powerball numbers, I can retire in style. :) I told you all here, and here, that the British sailors incident would be the Iranians way of trying to get support for their nuclear program. So when the Iranians illegally went into Iraqi waters, illegally arrested 15 British sailors, lined them up against a wall and made them believe that they were about to be executed, and then aired false "confessions", but had the "heart" to release them, the British should "Now it is up to the British government to proceed in a positive way". But of course Iranian officials say that the British press conference was "just a show".

He said "the prime issue for Iran" was recognition from the West of its right to a nuclear power program.

This was all a song and dance to force the hand of the West to allow the Iranians a nuclear program. The problem is that they do indeed have a right to a peaceful nuclear program, but they DON'T have a right to nuclear weapons, especially since they are a state sponsor of terrorist groups. Why else would they refuse to allow uranium enrichment in a 3rd party country? Why else would weapons documents appear on the black market and be found by the IAEA? Why else would they start refusing UN inspectors at certain sites? It all points towards a covert nuclear weapons program. Even the Russians, one of Iran's closest allies, is stalling delivery of nuclear material because they know Iran is after a bomb.

Pop Some Popcorn!

This ought to be very entertaining to watch. "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis has been ordered to jail because of contempt of court. Joe has refused to turn himself in. Wait for the bench warrant and nasty arrest video to show up on the internet soon. Judge's don't like to be told in so many words "go fuck yourself". They have a tendency to throw your ass in jail for much longer periods if you do.

Judge's have a vast amount of power that not a lot of people get to see first hand. Mr. Francis is about to find out and we get to watch with a little smile on our faces. Besides, he deserves to be thrown in jail for those "Girls Gone Wild" videos. They suck.

Pelosi Tells Whopper Of A Lie

So her trip is supposed to HELP the President?? "Our message was President Bush's message," Pelosi said in a phone interview.

Uhh, no it wasn't Nancy. You were specifically discouraged from going and you ignored it. Now the heat is on because everyone knows you're acting like a traitor and you want to look like the good guy.

As a side note take a look at the slight jab at the President: "
Bush earlier in the week assailed Pelosi for making the trip to Damascus, saying it sent mixed messages to the Syrian government, which his administration considers to be a state supporter of terrorism.

Wrong again. Syria has been on the State Departments list of sponsors of terrorism since 1979, LONG before the Bush Administration was elected. With a statement like that, the author misleads people into thinking that only the Bush Administration considered Syria a sponsor of terrorism instead of the United States.

Christians Get Back Your Religion

The author is right on a few fronts here. Christian values seem to lately be about abortion and gay marriage. Fred Phelps seems to be the biggest "Christian" extremist out there right now. All religions, Christianity included, need to root out dangerous extremists because if they don't, they have public opinion turn against their faith like Muslims are feeling right now.

Everyone wants to tell you "What would Jesus do?", I ask "what would YOU do". Sure, you can read the Bible, the Koran, or any other holy book and find guidance for everyday life situations. But it's ultimately your choice about what you want to do about it. Do you want people to assume that Christianity is about the Crusades and the vilification of Jewish people? No, of course not, so when fringe members of your religion spew nonsense, you need to stand up and tell them they are wrong.

If Muslims did this about terrorists more often, they wouldn't have taken such a beating in the public eye. Now Christians are going to start getting that reputation if you have pushed your scope of concern down to abortion and gay marriage, especially if someone commits a terrorist attack against people who support these issues such as abortion doctors or ministers who marries gay people.

British Sailors Confirm What Everyone's Thinking

Their "confessions" were bullshit. They were in Iraqi waters. They were "roughly handled", which I would imagine that Democrats would call "torture", but you don't see them protesting it.

So that brings up a good question. If Iranian sailors are found within Iraqi waters, then we can rightfully capture them and parade them around and get "confessions" from them too right? Those are the rules that Iran is playing by. I just want the rules of the game to be clear on both sides before we start playing.

Israeli Soldier To Be Set Free Soon

Gilad Shalit's ambush and capture almost a year ago sparked a short war that lead to hundreds of deaths. Now, President Abbas has said that he will be freed shortly. What Abbas should really be doing is dismantling Hamas and renouncing terrorist groups and support. Do that, and you will see peace come to the Middle East. Everyone loves to point a finger at Israel, but when was the last time you heard of Israeli's putting bombs on city buses? It'd be one thing to target the Israeli military, but it's quite another when they target civilians and children.

Gay Weddings At Disneyland

Why is this news? Because people still have a problem with gay marriage. I wasn't even aware that Disneyland had weddings at their parks. I think the bigger story is that prices for the "Fairy Tale Wedding" starts at $8,000. Yikes! My wedding was $2,500 including the ring. Granted, I know a LOT of people who owe me a LOT of favors so I just pooled my resources and got the reception hall for free, the minister for free, the cake for free, the food for free, etc.

Regardless, what's the harm in gay people getting married? Whatever people do behind closed doors isn't my business. If you want to get married, it doesn't effect me in the least. Kudos for Disney for changing their policy to include all Americans, not just heterosexuals.

Is Pelosi Trip Illegal?

The Wall Street Journal is suggesting that the recent trip to Syria may be illegal under the Logan Act. The article requires a subscription, but gives a teaser. I have linked to the teaser article and the text of the Act.

Probably nothing more then a pissing match will happen. It's extremely doubtful that anything criminal would happen to Nancy Pelosi. However, if you want to get technical, if it is found that she did do something illegal, it's grounds for her removal from office. However, with Democrats in the majority in both sections of Congress, I doubt much will happen.

US Navy Would Have Fought Back

According to this guy, the United States military would have fought back instead of allowed arrest in the British Navy incident. It may be true, it may not be true, the circumstances depends wildly on a number of factors. But the real question is would we have had secret negotiations with the Iranians or sent in the Navy SEALS? I get a feeling it would have been the latter.

Outdoor Cat Killed By Electrical Substation?

So suing an electric company when there's no evidence the cat even died of electrocution is the answer? The company was nice enough to offer to buy a new cat from the humane society and offer free healthcare for a year as a good will token, even though there's no evidence that the company was at fault for anything.

So what if the cat had been killed by a predator? The owner would have no recourse to sue anyone. The cat was out in the wild, on no leash and allowed to run free. So the owner is at fault just as much as the company even if there is evidence the cat was electrocuted to death.

6 Month Moratorium Asked For On Forclosures

So if you can't make your mortgage payment, the mortgage company should refinance the loan for you into a better deal for you because you ran into financial difficulties? Is that what these groups are asking for? How is that fair to the mortgage companies? What if the mortgage company came to the homeowners and said "look, we're not making enough money to stay in business, do you mind if we bump your interest rate up a bit to help make up for it?" They'd be laughed at. They'd have the mortgage contract thrown in their faces and be told "too bad".

These lending companies took a risk in giving these people loans. That's their fault. However, no one held a gun to the borrower's head and made them sign papers, that's the borrowers fault. If you cannot afford the house when emergencies strike, you shouldn't be buying the house. I would have loved to have bought a $1 million dollar home, but that would have stretched me to the point of eating ramen and hitchhiking to work. Therefore, I bought a much less expensive home and have to travel a bit longer to work. It's called financial planning.

Now of course, they want to bring race into the mix.

The coalition argued that under the nation’s fair housing laws, anyone involved in providing risky loans to minority borrowers who could not afford them could be held legally responsible — including real estate brokers, banks, mortgage companies and investment firms.

Race has absolutely nothing to do with this. It has everything to do with lenders who want to make money and people stretching themselves too thin.

John Walkter Lindh Wants Out Of Jail

You mean to tell me that prison isn't fun? That prison isn't all leisure and good times? Well the "American Taliban" John Walker Lindh is wanting out of jail. Of course, his mother is defending her son "John has been in prison for more than five years, and it is time for him to come home," she said.

Well explain to me when victims of the 9/11 attacks get to "come home". When does John Michael Spann get to "come home"? He supported the Taliban, was carrying explosives, and didn't lay down his arms when we came knocking down the front door. So fuck him, let him rot in jail. I say 20 years is a slap on the wrist.

His mother is also complaining about the sentence of David Hicks being "only 9 months". Sweety, you forget that he spent 5+ years in Guantanamo Bay. I agree that his sentence was a bit light, but you can't say "well I killed a guy and got life, but this guy killed a guy and he got 20 years". The circumstances of each case warrants individual case.

Jack Cloonan, former head of the FBI's bin Laden squad in New York said it best. "He can be a sympathetic figure, clearly, but in the end you have to take responsibility for your actions."

Some Idahoans Aren't That Smart

I know I've been guilty of taking pot shots at odd objects when I go shooting from time to time. Glass bottles, odd looking tree branches, etc. No wildlife pot shots because I have a rule "if you shoot it, you eat it". I imagine squirrel doesn't taste all that great.

But some in Idaho are taking pot shots at a whole new level of targets: National Guard Tanks.

First off, shooting at tanks is a VERY bad idea. You are shooting at people. People who have guns. People who have guns who are inside tanks. People who know how to shoot who have guns who are inside tanks. If you need an explanation as to why you shouldn't be doing this then you shouldn't be owning a gun. You are endangering the lives of others as well as yourself. How is a National Guardsman supposed to know that you're just having fun instead of actively attacking them? Will they be justified in returning fire? I would argue they do.

Ted Kennedy Wants You!

Just when you thought Ted Kennedy couldn't possibly try to rape hard working people any more, he proposes crap like this. Basically it amounts to having to provide sick time to part time employees. Providing that sick time will cost businesses, who will then pass that cost onto us.

"The cost of mandated seven days paid-time off is pure overhead cost. It is money taken away from money we could use to improve productivity," responds Michael Fredrich, President of Manitowoc Custom Molding, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer.

According to Fredrich, there is no way U.S. firms can compete with China and other countries on labor costs. The only way to compete is on productivity, he says, which is a function of capital employed. Fredrich says the proposed mandate would make the U.S. even less competitive.

He's exactly right. We're not going to be able to compete with China's use of slave labor and sweatshops in terms of cost, so the only thing we can do is be a lot more productive. There's a reason why part time people are part time. It allows them the flexibility to take care of things in their personal life. If they can't afford to be sick because money is so tight, maybe they should ask for more hours or get a full time job that does provide sick time like the rest of us have.

Ted Kennedy will never feel the pinch that this legislation will do. That's why he doesn't care about the small business owners who will feel the pinch. Every so often Ted will put on an act like he cares about "the little guy", but the bottom line is that those additional costs will be paid for by you and me.

Illegal Immigration Reform Bill

It looks good on paper, but I think it will probably fall flat in execution. In it, it talks of increasing border security, working with governments of Canada and Mexico, and to encourage illegal aliens to voluntarily leave the country. It also talks of penalties if the illegal alien does not leave voluntarily.

I think that if you're an illegal alien and you commit a crime above a misdemeanor, it's automatically deportation time. I don't care what the crime is, if it's a felony, you go back to your home country unless you have become an American citizen. I keep hearing of illegal aliens committing crimes and serving time and then getting released. Why are they still in the country? The fact they are in the country is a crime. There's a reason why we have a process to get people into this country legally.

Illegal aliens shouldn't get benefits. Period. I'm not saying that they shouldn't get basic medical care if they have a legitimate emergency such as getting hit by a car or they fell. That's just basic humanity, they need medical treatment. However, once healed up, it's off to your home country.

If you want to come to America, please do it legally. I wouldn't expect to get any different treatment if I decided to move to England illegally. The Mexican government doesn't even give you the same benefits that we give illegals here. If we took the Mexican government's stance on illegal immigrants, you'd see a wave of people leaving and a wave of liberals pissed.

Protesting lesson kids, gather 'round. When you protest something, you may feel free to carry signs, shout slogans, and other such standard things. You have that right. You do NOT have the right to lay down in front of the car that the person you are protesting to prevent them from leaving. That's called "imprisonment" and can get you arrested and possibly even killed if the person feels threatened.

Pelosi Skews Truth To Syria

I told you this would get ugly. Now Nancy Pelosi has told the Syrians that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was ready for peace talks.

An Israeli government official said that was not the message Olmert had asked Pelosi earlier this week to convey to Assad, who seeks the return of the Golan Heights, a strategic plateau Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war.

"The prime minister said Israel is interested in peace with Syria, but Syria would first have to abandon the path of terror and providing support for terrorist groups," the official said, in reference to Palestinian group Hamas and Lebanon's Hezbollah.

Apparently, she "pressed" the Syrian government for it's support of militant groups: She "expressed our concern about Syria's connections to Hezbollah and Hamas" and discussed the issue of militant fighters slipping across the Syrian border into Iraq. "These are important issues not only in the fight against terrorism but important priorities for us for peace in the Middle East," she said.

That's not "pressing" anyone. "Pressing" them is showing them that if they allow this to continue, we'll ask for sanctions at the UN, assassinate militant leaders, undermine their economy, and make live a living hell for them. That's "pressing". Sure, you can ask nicely once, but if you're rebuffed, then it's time to take more drastic measures. You can't pussy foot around with people. If they want to be your friend and work for peace, make them your best friend. Give them aid if needed, open trade avenues, help their economy, etc. Then everyone wins. Give them a taste of what prosperity REALLY means: The best schools for your children, more then enough food/clean water to go around, luxury cars, large homes, and so on. Let them taste what it's like to live the good life, then they see first hand what it means to cross us and what they have to lose.

OJ Has Giant Balls

Holy crap, this takes some REAL audacity. OJ is suing Fred Goldman to prevent him from auctioning off the rights to OJ's defunct book "if I did it". OJ's attorney Yale Galanter was equally ballsy: "The fact that Goldman has shown his true colors and shown the world what a greedy pig he is seems to shock everyone but me,'' Galanter told ABC News. "Am I the only sane person in this mess? This is a complete turnaround."

So where's the problem in getting OJ to pay the $33.5 million dollar judgment against him Yale? He's legally responsible for that. Regardless of what you believe, we all know OJ killed Ron and Nicole. That's simply too big of a conspiracy for everyone involved to have no one open their mouth and say something. Sloppy police work? Absolutely. When they knew it was that high of a profile case, they should have stepped up and triple checked everything. Had they done that, OJ probably would be sitting in a jail cell right now.

I doubt OJ will actually succeed in this little adventure. But I've been wrong before.

Parenting

Sometimes you have good parents like this woman, who smashed the car window after her son had locked her out and the police didn't make much headway. Then you have parents like this woman, who's defending her son who obviously wanted to hurt or kill a lot of people and is pissed because he's rightfully being held accountable for the crimes he's committed.

Where was this woman when her son was stockpiling an arsenal? The Australian woman took matters into her own hands and let her child know who's boss. The other woman just sits there and complains when law enforcement gets involved and he is rightfully being charged as an adult.

A while I ago I remember reading somewhere this nice little statement: "Hillary Clinton said 'it takes a village to raise a child', but it takes a good parent to whack them on the ass and tell them no!"

Children need discipline and structure, otherwise they will push the boundaries of what's acceptable in society until they get into deep trouble. That's when you have kids who plan on taking classes hostage and killing people.

John Edwards Campaign Hijinks

Wow, this is low even for a politician. If you sent a get well card through John Edwards' website to his cancer stricken wife, good for you, that shows you have heart for another human being. What that also does is put your email address on a master list and you then get a solicitation for a campaign contribution.

Edwards' Deputy Campaign Manager confirms it: "Nobody gets an e-mail from us without explicitly agreeing to receive e-mails." I've seen some low stuff before, but this ranks up towards the top. Had John Edwards' campaign wanted to do solicitations, there is no problem putting at the end of the card, "if you would like to contribute towards the campaign, click here and you may do so." That way a person is given a CHOICE on if they want to contribute or not, rather than having to deal with spam in their inbox.

Iranian Double Standards

So Iran is pissed that we arrested 5 people from their consulate in January and they've complained to the UN about it. They said it was a "clear violation of international conventions."

Let me explain a few things. First off, if you're providing support for insurgencies anywhere, even if it's not in your host country, your consulate is automatically no longer protected by UN regulations.

Secondly, Iran doesn't mind going to the UN to complain about that, but they won't listen to the UN when it comes to uranium enrichment.

Thirdly, they went into Iraqi waters to arrest those British sailors, in a "clear violation of international conventions."

So spare us your line of bullshit Iran, we all know you're up to no good and the world sees it.

Pelosi Gets Warm Welcome In Rogue Nation

And why not? They both share the same views: "down with America", "everything wrong is America's fault", "George Bush is Hitler reincarnated", etc.

Syria even admits they help militant organizations.

Syria, which since 1979 has been on the U.S. State Department's list of nations that sponsor terror, acknowledges that it provides funding for the Palestinian and Lebanese militant organizations, but it denies providing either group with arms.

So if I provide someone who's a known murderer with money, but if I don't provide them with weapons, that's ok? What the fuck do they think they'll do with the money? THEY'LL BUY WEAPONS! God, am I the only one who sees the idiocy of Nancy Pelosi and this ill advised trip?? There's a reason why Syria has been on the State Department's list of terrorist nations since 1979. Can't Do The Time, Don't Do The Crime

A British hacker by the name of Gary McKinnon has lost his appeal for extradition to the US for hacking into sensitive military computer systems. What really burns my ass is this:

Mr McKinnon has never denied that he accessed the computer networks of a wide number of US military institutions between February 2001 and March 2002.

Mr McKinnon, arrested in November 2002, has always maintained that he was motivated by curiosity and that he only managed to get into the networks because of lax security.

So, going by that logic, he wouldn't mind if I stole his car since I can easily smash his windows? He wouldn't mind if I robbed him since he probably isn't armed? Lax security is definitely a problem for information techs, but it's not an excuse to commit a crime. It's not like he did this to one computer. He did this to 97 computers. He knew what he was doing was wrong and now he's going to have to face the music for it.

We extradite people to other countries for crimes they've committed there all the time. People around the Internet have used this case as an example of how Britain has become a servant of the US government, which isn't true. If Gary didn't hack into these systems, he'd be sitting at home right now.

If you don't want to go to jail, don't commit a crime. If you don't want to go to jail in a foreign country, don't commit a crime there either.

Gas Prices Rise As Democrats Are Powerless To Stop It

Of course Democrats have promised that they'd "do something" about the rising gas prices during their campaign speeches, but what have they accomplished? Let's take a look.

They passed legislation that would take back some of the tax incentives that oil companies enjoy. While that looks good on paper, do they really think that if the legislation becomes law that the oil companies won't simply pass that additional cost onto consumers? Think $3.25 and up for a price of regular unleaded gas. Even the Manager of public and goverment affairs at the AAA tends to agree. "You have feel-good legislation, but at the end of the day it doesn't really alleviate the burden or change anything right away."

"By investing in American ingenuity, Democrats will accelerate the implementation of existing clean, energy-efficient technologies," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California said Jan. 18, when her chamber passed the bill.

Really Nancy? How about we take a peek at what a small French company has built? They built a car that runs on compressed air. That would eliminate our oil dependence completely. We produce enough oil to allow industries to continue to flourish, and the additional electrical requirements for this car wouldn't be a much bigger burden on our public utility providers. Hell, you could purchase a couple of solar cells and hook them up to your existing home's electrical system to offset the amount of electricity that an air powered car would need.

It's not really difficult Nancy, just take a look around, find ideas that work, and implement them. As soon as this air powered car comes into the US, I plan on looking at one and if it fits my needs (which it looks like it does on paper), I plan on picking one up.

David Hicks Feared Being Shot

Good! You're SUPPOSED to be afraid that if you don't cooperate that bad things might happen.

"I realised that if I did not cooperate with US interrogators, I might be shot."

Notice how he used the word "cooperate" rather then "tell them what they wanted to hear". That means he knew he was supporting terrorist operations against the US. He knew he was wrong and he knew he had become and enemy of the US.

However, there's a flip side to this coin.

Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to former US Secretary of State Colin Powell, said his claims were credible.

"I know this kind of abuse happened," he told ABC. "I've talked to people who participated in it -- CIA, military and contractor."

Wilkerson said military officers had told him the interrogations at Guantanamo Bay had revealed "virtually nothing" of useful intelligence.

"And that is just damning," he said.

Unfortunately for Colonel Wilkerson, there are reports of Khalid Muhammed giving up vast numbers of Al-Qaeda operatives that weren't previously known.

So, the question of the hour is, how far do you take an interrogation? Studies have shown that generally speaking, torture doesn't work. However, in some cases it does, so a fine line must be drawn. Sometimes that line is crossed and innocent people are tortured. Sometimes that line is crossed and thousands of lives are saved because of a plot being uncovered.

Counter terrorism isn't an exact science. Sometimes you just get a gut feeling that the guy knows something. You are then at a crossroads. Do you slap him around a bit to get him to talk and reveal something that might save innocent peoples lives? Or do you ask politely and risk seeing American citizens dying on the front page of CNN while the public asks why you didn't do more to get the information?

You can't walk 5 feet on the Internet without running into a website that claims the government knew of the 9/11 plot, yet didn't do enough to prevent it from happening. Well now they are going into overdrive and people are complaining that the government is doing too much. You can't win either way you go.

You Can Always Count On Cheney

Cheney, regardless of how you feel about him, you have to admit that he never takes criticism lightly. In this episode, Cheney responds to Congressional members who call for a timeline to get our troops out of Iraq:

"This action by the House of Representatives is irresponsible and sends exactly the wrong message to our enemy," Cheney said. "When members of the Congress speak not of victory but of time limits, deadlines or other arbitrary measures, they're telling the enemy to simply watch the clock and wait us out. It's time the self-appointed strategists on Capitol Hill understood a very simple concept: You cannot win a war if you tell the enemy when you're going to quit," Cheney said as the audience jumped to its feet applauding.

"The fact is that the United States military answers to one commander in chief in the White House, not 535 commanders in chief on Capitol Hill. "We expect the House and Senate to meet the needs of our military on time, in full and with no strings attached."

And the thing is, he's right. Democrats and a few Republicans are playing a very dangerous game with the safety and security of our troops and the Iraqi civilians. The bottom line is that Democrats are according to Barack Obama "playing a game of chicken."

Question For Bombers

I sincerely doubt there are any terrorists that frequent this site (if there are, I'd turn you in quicker then you can blink), but I have a question for them: You use Islamic teachings and "the will of Allah" to justify your bombings and other terrorist attacks. If that's the case, how can you justify murdering a newborn baby girl?

Certainly the Koran (Quran, and various other spellings) forbids this: "whoever killed a human being, except as punishment for murder or other villainy in the land, shall be regarded as having killed all mankind." Koran, 5:32.

So what was this little girl being "punished" for?

The verse goes on to say: "whereas, if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all mankind."

I have saved many people's lives because of actions I have taken (CPR on heart attack victims, pulling people out of car accidents, talking people out of suicide, etc) So according to your own holy book, I am the righteous man, and you are the murderer of all mankind.

So let's hear you try to justify murdering people looking for work, trying to feed and clothe their families and those who by an unfortunate coincidence they decided to take their newborn baby with them that day they went into town.

You are worthy of the worst that hell can offer. I have been burned in accidents and it's the worst pain that you can possibly imagine (on my right hand, which healed up back to normal in case you want to know), and I'm sure that is the kind of pain you're in for when you are judged for the immense crime you've committed.

Harry Reid - Traitor To The Troops

Democrats have had this ugly rumor of cutting funding for the troops over their heads for quite some time now. They've denied it and denied it more times then I can count. Now Harry Reid is saying that if President Bush vetoes the current budget with the timeline in it, he will move to cut funds from the troops in Iraq.

This is the most treasonous act that I've heard in a long time. If you want the war in Iraq to end, that's one thing, but to cut the legs out from underneath the troops, even after the recent surge in troop numbers is showing improvement, shows a lack of long term thinking and your contempt for the troops serving in Iraq. They have a tough enough job without having to worry about whether or not they will have proper equipment, armor, and replacement parts for their vehicles.

Sure, it's completely within his power to call for it, but don't give me a bullshit line that you're "supporting the troops" or cry when military men and women turn on you, because they will.

Especially with double speak like this: “If it’s for a surge, that is for two or three months, and it’s part of a program to get us out of there as indicated by this time next year, then sure I’ll go along with it."

News flash Harry, the sooner we quell the violence and get the Iraqi government back on it's feet, the sooner we can go home. Moron.

Greed Goes Down

Hey I got a brilliant business plan. Let's offer mortgages to people who can't afford them and then stretch them out as thinly as possible and make a ton of cash! Surely with interest rates going up and the housing market bubble finally popping won't effect the business in any way right??

I guess not. One of the biggest mortgage lenders has declared bankruptcy today. Interest only loans, exotic payment plans, and 40, even 50 year loans are becoming more and more common. Listen up people, I'm going to give you a basic economics class. If you can't afford something in a simple, standard 30 year fixed rate, then DON'T BUY THE HOUSE! Look for something smaller, something outside of the city, a fixer upper, or just rent an apartment. There's nothing worse then buying your dream home and then a few years later having to move out because you can't afford it and financially ruining your family.

So, who's to blame? Well certainly there's personal responsibility involved. Customers of home loans shouldn't purchase a home if they are scraping by by the skin of their teeth. But you can bet that the managers of this company are going to be losing their jobs and things will get very ugly because they lowered their standards and loaned money to people who shouldn't have gotten the amount of loan that they did or in some cases, they shouldn't have gotten the loan at all.

Buying a home is a scary thing, especially if it's your first home. Mortgage payment, taxes, maintenance and a host of other things will keep you up at night. The first 6 months to a year you think to yourself "what did I get myself into?" That's why you should never buy a home if you are in a situation where if you or your spouse were to lose his/her job you wouldn't be able to afford the house.

Iran Has No Need To Try Sailors

It appears that the Iranian government has taken a softer stance when it comes to the fate of the 15 British sailors it kidnapped. Now the Iranian chief negotiator is saying there's no need to try the sailors in court. One can only speculate what's going on behind closed doors that would make the Iranians take a softer stance such as this.

Hillary Finally Admits What We All Know

Universal healthcare, which I've touched on many times, is a hot topic these days. Democrats are using it to get the poor to come out to vote for them. But all Democrats, except one, aren't willing to tell you what we already know: That taxes will increase dramatically.

Clinton doesn't have a plan yet either. But she says her proposal, when it comes, will contain the most controversial element of her failed earlier effort--an employer mandate requiring all businesses to provide health insurance for their workers. "No more free riders," she declared. "No more companies that don't insure everybody and shift their costs onto other companies that do and onto the taxpayer." Clinton warned that her plan will spark a "big political battle" because it will mean "taking money away from people who make out really well right now." And who might those people be? "Well," she answered, "let's start with the insurance companies." Let the battle begin--again.

So, the taxpayer, will end up footing the bill. She wants to "take money" out of your pocket and insure those who don't have insurance. She doesn't even have the nerve to lie to you and tell you she's only going after insurance companies. "Let's START with insurance companies." Who knows where she'll finish? Probably right around the bottom of your pockets.

Iran Accused US Warplanes Of Violating Airspace

They sure are picking for a fight aren't they? Funny thing is, they didn't fire upon those jets did they? The reason why they didn't is because they want to be seen as the victim and if they fire first, they aren't the victim. They also didn't make a move against the planes because they know they weren't in Iranian airspace and they'd have their asses handed to them if they did. I can't believe that there are still people out there who believe the Iranian governments bullshit.

Pelosi Doesn't Mind Dealing With Terrorist Nation

So she just shrugged it off and said "It's interesting because three of our colleagues, who are all Republicans, were in Syria yesterday and I didn't hear the White House speaking out about that," Pelosi said, referring to the Sunday meeting of Reps. Frank Wolf, Joe Pitts and Robert Aderholt with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus.

Here's a little tip Nancy, just because they did it, doesn't mean it's right for you to do it. It was wrong for these 3 people to do it as well. We all learned that in Kindergarten. You can't appease terrorist nations and you certainly shouldn't be giving them any opportunity for them to become emboldened. God, for being the Speaker Of The House, you sure aren't all that bright.

Stop Attacking Militants!

These poor people are only firing rockets all the time and trying to kill you. It's bad enough when you have people making outrageous demands, but take a look at this:

The sources add that Olmert answered he would consider only this if the militant organizations refrained from firing rockets or carrying out attacks for a period of two weeks. Abbas retorted that a complete armistice was impossible as long as the IDF was targeting militants in the West Bank.

So Israel is asking for a 2 week period of non attacks and they couldn't even get that??? Then they push Israel away from peace talks with comments like this:

"If they go on meeting without the release of prisoners or other gestures, we ourselves will supply Hamas with the weapons it wants," they said.

So, if they don't stop retaliating against people who want to kill them and are carrying out attacks, then the Palestinian government is saying they will supply known terrorist groups with weapons. And they wonder why the US and other governments around the world have stopped supplying them with financial aid. Morons.

Supreme Court Denies Guantanamo Bay Detainees

The Supreme Court today denied an appeal to allow Guantanamo Bay prisoners to challenge their confinement in court. This is the proper thing because if you don't follow the rules of war, you don't get to have the same rights as those that do. You don't have Constitutional rights when you're not an American citizen, just like I don't get to share in the oil wealth in Alaska because I'm not an Alaskan citizen. It's a harsh thing that many liberals don't want to hear, but it's the truth.

Iran Becoming Emboldened

I told you this would happen. This is one of those times that special forces were created for. The Iranian kidnapping of British sailors is an act of war, therefore, having special forces go in and extract them is a perfectly viable means of ending the situation. Iran is starting to think that they can get away with kidnapping soldiers and they will get their way every time unless the British or American forces do something about it. Personally, If I were President and this happened to American soldiers, they wouldn't be hostages for long. You get one chance to release them. Then, the gloves come off. We all go home, or no one goes home.

Obama Stirred Up A Hornets Nest

So Barack Obama stated that if President Bush vetoed the spending bill Congress would quickly do another budget without the timeline because "no lawmaker wants to play chicken with our troops."

Well apparently, there are major Democratic bloggers out there who do "want to play chicken with our troops." They call it "surrendering to Bush". I guess they have no problem surrendering to Al-Qaeda, but surrendering to Bush is going to make you a pariah.

Obama - Good/Bad

So Senator Obama has said that Congress will approve funding without the timetable because nobody "wants to play chicken with our troops."

While I applaud Senator Obama for that statement, later down the article he runs into a problem.

Was vague about whether universal health coverage would require higher taxes. "I'm committed to making sure we find those resources," Obama said. "It is possible that we are going to need additional resources at least on the front end. I think you can save that money on the back end." He is meeting with expects this week as he develops a health care proposal.

Without giving specifics, Obama said he would offer a system that provides universal care and cuts costs for employers by allowing small businesses to pool together.

So, just like I've warned before, universal health care isn't going to work because Democrats don't know how they are going to pay for it without significantly raise your taxes. I don't know about you, but why should I get up every morning at 6 AM to head to work and bust my ass so I can pay for someone who's able to work but chooses not to who's on welfare so they can get medical treatment? If a person's not able to work, fine, I don't mind helping someone who's willing to help themselves. But let's first clean up the welfare system so my taxes aren't being wasted. What about those who don't want to better themselves and have resigned to jobs making minimum wage? If you want better health care, get a job that provides it. Can't get that job? Go to college. There's tons of grants, loans, and other ways of paying for college.

I don't know about other states, but in my state we have basic health coverage to anyone who wants it. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it is basic health coverage. Why can't other states follow suit? What's wrong with the insurance we offer now? There are plenty of programs out there for those who want to take 20 minutes to look it up.

Was There A US-Iranian Fight?

Whispers and rumors always spread wildly, but if this one is true, you can bet that the Iranians need an ass whipping. According to this article, the Iranian military attempted to ambush a join US-Iraqi border patrol. When the patrol followed an Iranian soldier who was in Iraqi territory, they were surrounded by a massive number of Iranian soldiers. A firefight broke out and one Iranian soldier was killed.

Details are of course, very sketchy considering that this in of itself would be considered an act of war. Iran needs to buy a map because they can't seem to distinguish what is their territory and what's the Iraqi's. This is why we take a hard line against Iran. It's not a simple "we're being a bully to poor Iran." They are actively trying to undermine the US-Iraqi security forces. They have given or allowed to be stolen, at least 100 extremely expensive, long range sniper rifles. They are actively developing a nuclear weapon I have no doubt. They support terrorist groups such as Hezbollah and they need to be stopped.

Every Middle Eastern country agrees that they are trying to develop a nuclear weapon and no one thinks they should get one, regardless of what you read in the news. They'll say that they are "with their Iranian brothers", but when the chips are down, they all know that a nuclear Iran would be disastrous for the region and the world.

Democrats Have Some Nerve

When a budget was planned for additional funding of the Iraq war, Democrats put in a provision of a timeline. They then filled the bill with pork barrel spending all over the map as a way to force the President to veto the bill and look bad. Now, they have the nerve to say that if the President vetoes the bill: "If the president vetoes this bill because he doesn't want to formally demonstrate progress in Iraq, never in the history of war would there be a more blatant example of a commander in chief undermining the troops."

Democrats lately have been found out to show their true colors. Tax increase plans, undermining troop flexibility, allowing corruption to get rewarded, terrorist nation appeasement, the list goes on and on.

This is what happens when you vote Democrat. They love to talk about "pie in the sky utopian" views, but when it comes down to it, they are spineless against crime and terrorism, have socialist views, want to give away your hard earned tax dollars, and only think of short term goals that will increase their popularity and consolidate power.
