Now The Real Fun Begins

The North Carolina State Bar Association has denied an attempt by the Duke rape prosecutor to have the charge of DNA suppression dropped. I particularly liked how he was heckled: ""You'll look good in an orange jumpsuit."

It's called "disclosure." These young men were in jail for months and he knew that DNA evidence would exonerate these guys and he sat on it. There's even charges that he lied about it in court. If any of these allegations are proven to be true, you can bet this man's career is over and he'll likely go to jail.

Speaking Of Fiscal Responsibility

It appears that Mitt Romney is burning through cash as fast as possible. That doesn't sit too well with me. Republicans are known to be generally fiscally responsible and with Mr. Romney burning through the cash that quickly all the while he's not even in the lead for the Republican nomination, makes me wonder if he'll be fiscally responsible if elected to be President.

Democrats are in power right now and they'll try to jack up taxes and spend it on pork projects, which they've already proven with the recent budget attempt. I don't need a President who isn't financially responsible. I need a President who'll be tough on crime and terrorism, has a backbone, is fiscally responsible, and won't try to undermine my Constitutional rights. If Mitt doesn't get his act together, he'll burn through all of his money and he'll be stuck far from the finish line.

Guess Who Wants To Bail Out Lenders??

Charles Schumer, a Democrat, no surprise there, wants to help bail out lenders who loaned people money who didn't have the means to repay the loan. Mr. Schumer has said that lenders should pay for part of the bill that would arise from restructuring loans and other such nonsense.

Bullshit.

The government shouldn't do a damned thing for these people. Either side. They knew they were loaning money with questionable means to repay the loan. The borrower knew they couldn't afford the house they were moving into, so let them sleep in the bed they made.

Consumer advocate groups say those loans, with steeply rising payments, were pushed on borrowers who didn't understand the terms. Advocates say a government bailout, even a large one, is appropriate because regulators didn't do enough to stop predatory lending, and because of the high cost of foreclosures.

"The cost of not doing anything would be devastating to many communities around the country," says Lisa Rise, a vice president at the nonprofit National Fair Housing Alliance.

Really? Unless the person who took out the loan was mentally incompetent, there's no need to have a bailout. They should have read the terms of the deal, or if they didn't understand it, take it to an attorney or a HUD representative. Sure, the cost of doing nothing might be devastating, but do you think it's fair that people who got in over their heads get to live in nicer homes who "didn't understand the terms" rather than those who were fiscally responsible and moved into a smaller home or moved further away from the city?

If you move into a nice home and can afford it, great. If you can't afford it, sell it and move. Those are you options.

Now It's Costing Money

The "God Hates Fags" folks have been ordered to pay for the funeral costs of a funeral they protested. A judge ruled that they violated the privacy of the funeral of Lance Corporal
Matthew Snyder, and ordered the church to pay the costs of the funeral as punishment.

Let's see how many more funerals they decide to protest once it starts getting expensive. If the church doesn't pay up, you can bet that the families will start filing liens against property that the church owns and pretty soon, no more church.

Iranians Interested In Speaking With Nancy Pelosi

Well of course they are! They know she's a moron who'll cave into the most basic bullshit stories about how the "big bad US government" is trying to pick on "poor innocent Iran". They are simply poking around to see where weakness is and that's one big target they've got there in Nancy.

What I hope doesn't happen is that I hope she doesn't fall into their line of bullshit. If she does, she deserves to be impeached immediately. She has no right to circumvent and undermine all the diplomacy that has happened in regards to Iran's nuclear ambitions. She also will embolden them to keep up the support of the insurgency because they know Nancy wants to tuck tail and run.

Nancy's office has said that she's not going to Iran, but is it because she really thinks Iran needs to be punished for it's nuclear program, or is it because she saw the uproar over her trip to Syria and knows that a trip to Iran would be disastrous for the Democratic party? A trip to Iran would only reinforce the notion that Democrats only want to appease terrorists.

Chavez Wants To Bring Soldiers To Oil Takeover

That really says something when you feel that you need to bring armed military troops when you take over an oil company. Think that the people who used to run the company might be a WEE bit pissed at you? Make no mistake here people, he's not buying them out, he's stealing these companies investments. He's merely going to give them what he thinks is fair so he can look like a fair person. There is no way that you can expect other companies to start investing in Venezuela now because who's to say that Hugo Chavez wouldn't try to take over those industries as well?

Good going idiot, you've doomed your economy.

More Mortgage Examples Of Idiocy

So you mean to tell me that you can't afford a $4,800 a month mortgage when you estimate that you can only afford a $3,000 a month mortgage? Say it isn't so! These people should have had bells going off in their heads when they first heard that the lender was going to help subsidize their mortgage. They wanted to move from a subsidized apartment into a $720,000 home and thought they could do so for only $3,000 a month? Yes, the lender probably should at the very least be investigated for predatory loan practices, but come on, where's the personal responsibility here?

Where's the people saying "well we can't afford this in this neighborhood, so let's look elsewhere"? Common sense people, that's all I'm asking for, but I keep getting example after example of people stretching themselves too thin and then when a disaster hits, they are screwed.

The guy was making $15,000 a year and found out he couldn't afford a $720,000 house. Duh! My wife and I pull in almost 8x as much per year and we can't afford a $720,000 house.

Another Bad Apple Spoils The Bunch

So now people are mad that a guy who was denied a permit for a hand gun got a hold of a shotgun and then killed people. However, the guy did pass a criminal background check. In my state that's enough to issue a permit. My state is a "must issue" state. If there's nothing in the person's background that would legally prevent him from owning a firearm, the state must issue that person a permit.

Now you see all these gun control advocates coming out of the woodwork asking for further laws to prevent law abiding citizens from getting firearms. There's nothing preventing any law abiding citizen from snapping and going crazy with a gun. That's just the way things are and no additional law is going to stop it. It is sad that people had to die because this guy decided to do a criminal act and he will go to jail or the death chamber for his crimes, but tightening the screws on a legally protected Constitutional right isn't the answer.

US Navy's Fighting Dolphins

Sounds like a bad B grade movie doesn't it? But I assure you that they are quite real. We've had them for years. There's even a picture of one floating around the internet. It's not as a crack pot idea as you would think at first. Dolphins and Sea Lions are quite intelligent and can maneuver graciously and quickly through the water. They have great strength and they work for good treatment and food. It's rather cheap to invest in them and their work is invaluable to the defense of this nation.

Now if we can only get the sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads, we'd be in business.

Imus Fired

Well they fired Don Imus for his remarks about the Rutger's basketball team. I would like an answer to Imus' question though: When is Al Sharpton going to apologize to the Duke university lacrosse players?

Travis
travis@rightwinglunatic.com

A Word On Emails

So Senator Leahy is asking the White House to turn over emails over the issue of the recent firings of 8 US attorneys. Senator Leahy made a false statement that I think you should hear: "You can't erase e-mails, not today. They've gone through too many servers," said Leahy, D-Vermont Those e-mails are there, they just don't want to produce them. We'll subpoena them if necessary. I've got a teenage kid in my neighborhood that can go get 'em for them."

While the White House is probably stalling for various reasons, if I want an email gone, it's gone. You may be able to get that email from the person I sent it to or off of their mail server, but if I wanted to, I could create a secure email server within a few hours that would wipe any evidence of that email ever going through the server. It's not difficult. Being that it's a White House mail server, I imagine that their email administrators would have extra security features on it that would make my security policies seem like kindergarten stuff.

Email and communication security can sometimes get very complicated and finding emails does sometimes take time to retrieve. But don't think that if a competent administrator didn't want to, he couldn't make a server that was practically invisible in terms of forensics.

Imus On The Offensive

I'm sure most of you out there have heard of all the hub bub over the comments that Imus made about the Rutger womens basketball team, so I won't bother to go into details about that. However, I am glad to see him call out Al Sharpton over his remarks towards the Duke university lacrosse players and ask when he's going to apologize for his remarks.

While I disagree with his comments about the women, I do think it's getting blown up WAY out of proportion. For example, the women talk about the "tremendous hurt" that they've been feeling. Really? You get your feelings hurt to the point of it being "tremendous" by a washed up 70 year old DJ? That seems a bit hypersensitive if you ask me.

And Al Sharpton? When is he going to apologize to the Duke university players for his role in demonizing them in the public eye over their now known false rape charge? A better question is what is Al going to apologize for Tawana Brawley's false rape accusations? When is Al going to apologize specifically to Steven Pagones?

The bottom line is that Imus has apologized so let's all move on here. We all have more important issues to deal with than a DJ who gets no ratings and is clearly a moron. I don't believe for a second that Imus is going to change or that some world changing event is going to happen, but when Al Sharpton starts opening his mouth, the only words I want to hear is: I'm sorry I called Steven Pagones a racist and a rapist.

Imus is a washed up DJ with no relevance to the real world. His racist views are his views alone.

Al Sharpton is a professional "poor me" leader. His whole job is to sit around and wait to get offended.

UN Would Like To Take Some NYPD Officers

Oh sure. I'm certain that when NYPD officers were growing up dreaming of being cops, they wanted to be a part of an ineffectual force that just writes nasty letters to bad guys and asks nicely for them to behave. Otherwise, they may be forced to send another nasty letter. Face it UN, unless you back up your threats, no one's going to take you seriously and you'll be as toothless as a 85 year old Grandmother.

What A REAL American Soldier Is Like

So Democrats love to piss and moan about atrocities that are committed by our soldiers in Iraq. However, this footage shows you how honorable our men and women over there really are. Insurgents all piled into a bus and were going to attack our soldiers, but they were fired upon and the bus caught fire. The insurgents then came out of the bus, one of them ran towards a guard check point and they were fired upon.

Now, according to Democrats, the soldiers normally would have killed everyone in the lot and made up stories about what happened. Instead, do you know what happens? Our guys go towards the flaming bus, move the insurgents away from the flames and give them MEDICAL TREATMENT.

They then go towards the guy who ran at the guard shack to check on his medical needs. That person died. After the treatment is given, they go towards the bus and they find a gun. I have posted this because I want you to see raw footage of what goes on there instead of the fluff and bullshit that comes with going through the mainstream media.

Please note: THIS FOOTAGE IS GRAPHIC. IT DEPICTS SHOOTINGS, DEATH, AND LOTS OF BLOOD.

You have been warned.

Duke Rapist Accused Outed

Now that the charges have been dropped against these young men, it's time to publicly out their false accuser. Her name is Crystal Gail Mangum and you can find out all about her here, including a photo of her.

However, North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper said that prosecuting her for her false accusations would "not in the best interest of justice."

WHY NOT?!?! Prosecutors decided that it was "in the best interest of justice" to prosecute these men and let this drag on ever after it was found out that the charges were bullshit. So what gives? When are these young men going to get justice for their ruined reputations?

Pelosi To Go To Iran Next?

A lot of speculation and a "well I won't disagree with that statement" in this article, but let me be the first to say it: If Nancy Pelosi pulls the same shit she did in Syria in Iran, I will personally write to every Congress member and ask for impeachment hearings.

This is the international stage and to undermine the government in such a way would reek of treason. The Iranian's are already helping the insurgency in Iraq, so would that make Nancy Pelosi the next "Hanoi Jane"? It would in my book. But let's give her the benefit of the doubt and see what comes of this.

Duke Charges Dropped

This one is all over the news, but the charges against the Duke lacrosse players have been dropped. A bit late I would think myself after the "victim" changed her story a bunch of times and was uncooperative after a while. So, when do the charges of filing a false police report and the lawsuits for ruining these young men's lives begin? They have an extremely strong case, I would imagine that people would be aching to settle pretty quickly. So what is a false rape charge worth? These young men will no doubt have people who believe that they are guilty for the rest of their lives, so what's a fair amount that will make things right? $1 million? $5 million? It could get very expensive very quickly.

Plagiarism in the news business is a pretty serious crime. Unfortunately, from time to time, people get caught doing it. I'm in the middle of investigating whether someone is plagiarizing my articles for their site elsewhere on the internet. So we relax a bit and let the North Koreans have their $25 million that was frozen in their account. A "good faith" gesture if you will. What do we get in response? North Korea wants to keep going on their nuclear plant for another month. What do you suppose will happen in that month? Think they'll dismantle their plants and send it all over to their Iranian buddies?

If they want to pull this bullshit after they get what they want, I say it's high time to shut them down permanently. So the Russians are now all pissy that we've offered our European allies access to our missile defense shield. They are threatening to alter their nuclear weapons to make them harder to shoot down. They are also pissed that "the were deceived."

Really guys? How about you first stop the massive amounts of spying on our military and making wild claims that we are planning to attack Iran so you can drive up oil prices. How about you be a bit more open about your plans with the nuclear plant you're building within Iran? How about you stop poisoning dissidents? Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

Today In History

Today is a sad anniversary. Today marks the 15th anniversary of the death of my favorite comic, Sam Kinison. Sam was killed in by a teenage drunk driver, which is ironic since at the beginning of one of his albums, he does a bit about supporting drunk driving. Sam's comedy antics and topics that he discussed irritated a lot of people, but for me, at that time in my life, it was as if Sam has said "Here's everything that's going on in your life....and here's why it's funny as hell." Women problems, drugs, hypocracy of evangelists, homosexual necrophilia, nothing was too taboo for Sam to talk about and make fun of. Sam used to be a traveling preacher and would make religion a big part of his act.

Sam's concerts in the 80's and 90's sold out across America. He had friends all over the entertainment world and he would be featured in many music videos and he featured them in his. For those of you not old enough, imagine someone more popular than Dane Cook and Mitch Hedberg combined.

For those of you who don't know about Sam's comedy, you can find out more about him at www.kinison.com

We'll miss you Sam.

Here's two videos which will tell you what kind of comic Sam was.

His first appearance on Letterman

His appearance in the 1986 comedy "Back To School"

Or just do a search on Youtube for "Sam Kinison" and you'll see what I mean.

Even More Democrat Hypocracy

Good fucking God! The level of bullshit has reached an all time high! Take a read on what Harry Reid has to say about the funding of troops in Iraq now:

"any discussion of an issue as critical as Iraq must be accomplished by conducting serious negotiations without any preconditions. Our goal should be to produce an Iraq supplemental bill that both fully funds our troops and gives them a strategy for success."

The Reid and Pelosi statement accused Bush of "trying to score political points at the expense of our troops.

The article goes on to make this damning statement:

In another sign by Democrats that they weren't yielding, Reid introduced separate legislation Tuesday aimed at denying most funding for the war after March.

So how is it that denying most funding ISN'T "trying to score political points at the expense of our troops" Harry?

Well Harry, if you had given the President the bill WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS, you wouldn't be in this mess would you? You support withdrawing funds from troops, you explored the idea and found that you were virtually alone with Nancy Pelosi, John Murtha, and other prominent power hungry wolves. You could have easily just said "here's the funds you need", but you chose to add time lines that would restrict military commanders ability to fight the war, undermined morale with your talk of losing the war, and added more than $20 BILLION worth of pork barrel spending that YOU tried to score political points with and you knew that Bush would veto the bill, thus putting your own political points at the expense of our troops. This is the same spending that you yourself had rallied against in the 2006 election.

Stop the bullshit Democrats.

You complain of "losing the war", but you don't want to give troops the tools they need to win, even though we've won the military conflict YEARS ago.

You complain about the Federal debt, but you add billions in spending.

You complain about the "working poor", yet you submit a budget that would be the highest tax increase in history.

You complain about terrorists, but your leader goes off to Syria.

You complain of corruption, but you let William Jefferson continue to have positions of power and classified materials.

YOU are what's wrong with America. You have no backbone when it comes to standing up for what's right. You whine about problems, yet you want to don't want to roll up your sleeves and work to solve the problem. You scream "Freedom Of Speech", yet want to silence those who disagree with you. The minute you decide that what's right is better then what's popular is the minute you become a TRUE American.

Islamic PBS Movie Canceled For Political Reasons?

Maybe it's me, but if my tax dollars were put out there to make a movie, I have the right to see it. It seems the PBS folks, according to the producer of the movie, are getting a bit nervous about the content of the film. Sounds like they are just worried about all the extra security they'll have to hire when the Islamic whack jobs come out of the woodwork and declare "jihad" and issue "fatwa's" because the extremists are called out on the carpet.

Subtitled Voices From the Muslim Center, Burke says his film "attempts to answer the question: 'Where are the moderate Muslims?' The answer is, 'Wherever they are, they are reviled and sometimes attacked' " by extremists

Jeff Bieber, WETA's executive producer for Crossroads, gave a substantially different explanation. He said Burke's film had "serious structural problems (and) . . . was irresponsible because the writing was alarmist, and it wasn't fair."

Excuse me, but extremists don't get to declare what's "fair" and what's not. Bombing innocent people, beheadings, and crashing aircraft into buildings mean you've lost your right to anything other than the business end of a US military strike.

If it's "alarmist" then it doesn't really matter does it? American taxpayers paid for this film and they have every right to see it. American's are smarter then you think. If the film is full of shit, they'll see right through it.

Lou Pearlman Wanted For Ponzi Scheme

Many of you out there don't know what a "Ponzi" scheme is, so I'll give you the very basics. A con man/woman will tell you that with some investing magic, they can make your investment double, triple, or even go further. Your investment is paid for by investments of others who get in on the deal after you do. The whole thing spirals out of control and usually collapses upon itself shortly.

Well Lou Pearlman is accused of doing just that. The name might not be familiar to you, but his work is. He's the guy who brought you N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys. That right there is a crime in which America suffered greatly and which he should be drug out into the street and shot like a rabid dog for.

My wife bought on of the N'Sync and Backstreet Boys CD's and played them constantly. It drove me nuts hearing this line of crap about how it's "music" and other such nonsense. Anti-Addiction Software?

Chinese internet game operators have been ordered to install "anti-addiction" software that would limit the amount of online play time to 3 hours per night for those who are 18 and under. I'm sure that this will work perfectly and no one will have any kind of crack, patch, or find another route to get to keep playing.

I seem to remember someone saying something along the lines of "the more you squeeze, the more that slips through your fingers" Chinese kids will find a way to play and sooner or later you'll have an information explosion that will cause a mini crisis for those in charge. Just wait until they find out about Tienanmen Square.

Some Australian Parents Are Idiots

There are parent groups in Australia that want to ban homework for the early years of a kids school career. If you want to teach your child to be irresponsible, not challenge their mind, or give them deadlines, then go for it. Just remember that your child will end up being a moron who will most likely have a dead end job and be begging Democratic types to raise the minimum wage laws so they can afford the basic necessities in life.

Homework is important from first grade on towards the end of an academic career. It teaches a child that they have responsibilities. It teaches them how to think, how to have their parents help, how to research problems that they don't know the answer to. If you ban that, then a child will only learn in the short amount of time that teachers have to teach.

So what happens if a child is being disruptive in the class? I know that's a bit of a stretch, but hear me out. If one child is being disruptive, then that child is literally robbing the other children of the education that they would get that day. Homework is an extension of the classroom materials. With teachers already stretched to the limits, banning homework will force the teacher to cram more material into a shorter timeframe. If you do that, you risk them learning nothing.

Doubts On Iranian Nuclear Capabilities

Iran on one hand is saying that they are ramping up enrichment. On the other hand, Russia and other folks are saying that Iran might be covering for technical problems that they are running into.

It's difficult to tell who's telling the truth. Russia is a major ally of Iran and may be trying to help keep back the push for more sanctions against Iran. But other people besides Russia are voicing similar opinions. The IAEA can't confirm that Iran's program is for nuclear power only. They have been banned from "snap checks" on nuclear facilities, so it makes the situation all the more muddy.

The REAL problems is what are the consequences of doing nothing? Are we dealing with the next Hitler? That seems to be the common consensus right now. Are we dealing with the worlds greatest bullshit artist? Possibly, but I wouldn't want to make that guess and have thousands or millions incinerated because I was wrong.

US Files Trade Complaint Against China

We allege the China is not doing enough to crack down on piracy. No kidding! Really???!! China is one of the leading sources of piracy in the world and yet, since piracy doesn't effect China's entertainment industry like it does for America, they don't do much about it. A friend of mine went to China several years ago and he took pictures of places that were selling DVD's, software, and other items that were obvious fakes.

This also has to do with the trade deficit. We're trying to even things out a bit more. However, we're not going to be able to compete against child/slave labor that China uses so much. If China doesn't cooperate in the piracy bit, they may find themselves on the receiving end of new tariffs on Chinese goods.

Verifiable Paper Ballot

While I can understand why officials would want to go towards electronic voting, having a paper trail is crucial. It allows the results to be verified. I can't understand how hard it is to come up with an easy system for electronic voting.

I'm in the tech field by trade and after discussing ideas with my colleagues we came up with a verifiable system for electronic voting that cuts out any possibility of vote tampering and allows the results to be verified over a lunch break a few weeks back. Why can't large corporations such as Diebold do the same? Our voting rights are at the core of the freedoms that we enjoy. We can't afford to screw that up.

The Majority Of Europe Supports Iranian Strikes

Well they support it now, but who's to say if we (the US) lead something like that, that they wouldn't stab us in the back and say that intelligence was "manipulated" and other such nonsense?

A lot of European countries think force is a reasonable action in various circumstances, but unfortunately, a good percentage of those don't want to make any sacrifices to make that happen. If they support it, let them offer planes, personnel, and equipment for such a strike.

Elizabeth Edwards "afraid of Republican neighbor"

This is too funny. A neighbor of Elizabeth Edwards, wife of John Edwards, Presidential candidate, is afraid of her "rabid, rabid Republican" neighbor because he brandished a gun during an incident that the police didn't prosecute him for? She admits she's never met him and she wouldn't be nice to him if she did.

"I wouldn't be nice to him, anyway," Edwards said in an interview. "I don't want my kids anywhere near some guy who, when he doesn't like somebody, the first thing he does is pull a gun out. It scares the business out of me."

But Johnson defended the occasion he brandished a gun, saying those on his land didn't have the proper approval.

So the guy had intruders on his land and he defended it with a gun. I don't see a problem here other than her trying to make him and other Republicans sound like gun toting weirdos. Why else would she even MENTION that he's a Republican?

Later on down the article she complains of the condition of his property.

Edwards views Johnson as a "rabid, rabid Republican" who refuses to clean up his "slummy" property just to spite her family, whose lavish 28,000-square-foot estate is nearby on 102 wooded acres.

Tell me that doesn't reek of elitism. This man was there before they were too. His family bought their property before the Great Depression, while the Edwards' bought theirs in 2003. My favorite comment is this one:

"I have to budget. I have to live within my means," Johnson said. "I don't have millions of dollars to fix the place." "I thought he was supposed to be for the poor people," Johnson said. "But does he ever socialize with any poor people? He doesn't speak to me."

Why yes Mr. Johnson, Democrats are SUPPOSED to be for the poor, but when it comes down to it, they don't appear that way do they? Who put money in your pocket with tax cuts and refunds? Who cut business taxes for your car garage you run on your property? That's right, Republicans did. And that's why Mr. Johnson has a "Go Rudy Guilani 2008" sign on his front lawn right in next to the Edwards' driveway. :)

Target Has PR Nightmare On It's Hands

I doubt that these Marines were recruiting, and I'm willing to bet that the manager is an anti-war type, but I'm just guessing. But regardless, two Marines are claiming that they were thrown out of a Target recently by a manager who claimed they were recruiting. I'd be more interested in hearing what the former Navy SEAL who happened to be nearby has to say.

"I didn't want to make a scene," Rodriguez said. "We were representing Marines anyway just by wearing the uniform, so I kept my mouth shut."

Then, Rodriguez said, "this retired Navy SEAL came up behind us and he said, 'You forget what... country this is,' and he goes off on (the assistant manager) saying, 'You have no right to throw them out of Target just because they are talking to one of your employees.' "

"He got everything out in the open that I was thinking, so I kind of left with a grin," Rodriguez said.

It sounds like this Marine has his head screwed on straight if he didn't say anything because in his own words: "We were representing Marines anyway just by wearing the uniform." So, let's see how Target explains this incident out.

$7.6 Million For Response Time??

So a child had a seizure that stopped his heart on a playground. The adults who responded didn't respond in time to help prevent brain damage to this child. So, therefore, the parents get $7.6 million? What would have happened if the child was at home when this happened? Ambulances take AT LEAST 5 minutes to get to you. This is a sad state of affairs when the school really wasn't at fault here and the parents are lawsuit happy. They had a child who now needs 24 hour care and they didn't want to go through the struggles that any other parent would have to, so they sue the school.

This is why schools don't have enough money for things. Who do you think is going to pay for this? California state taxpayers will. Property taxes will go up. New tax measures will show up at election time. This is why you always see schools getting more and more money but the schools never seem to improve. Tax payers are pissed as it is for their high tax rates, only to see it pissed away by someone who decided to be greedy and sue a school simply because their child was at that place when his seizure took place. Had he been home, they'd be screwed.

Thousands March Against The US

It's ironic. The very people who were persecuted and slaughtered by Saddam Hussein are now protesting against the people who fought to give them the right they have to protest to begin with. The protests were peaceful, so I have no problems with their protests. When it becomes threatening or violent, then I have a problem with it. But Moqtada al-Sadr needs to be brought up on murder charges that stem from the killing of a rival cleric. Everyone seems to forget that.

Funding For Troops

Just when I started to think this morning on my way into work: "I haven't heard from Congress about the funding for the troops lately.", I run across this little article telling Nancy Pelosi to get back to work.

General Peter Schoomaker, United States Army Chief of Staff, has written that, "without approval of the supplemental funds in April, we will be forced to take increasingly draconian measures which will impact Army readiness and impose hardships on our Soldiers and their families." Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has also emphasized the dangers of delay: "This kind of disruption to key programs will have a genuinely adverse effect on the readiness of the Army and the quality of life for soldiers and their families."

Let's see how the Democrats want to spin this one. My bet is that they will say "well we GAVE you a spending bill that you could have signed". The probable response will be "you gave me extra garbage at a time when you're complaining about the federal deficit and the national debt, but you added on unacceptable additional spending" Time will tell.

North Korea Wants It's Money First

They want the US to unfreeze $25 million in a bank account and THEN they will let the UN inspectors in and they will get on with their nuclear program freeze. The North Koreans have proven themselves to be trustworthy right? I say we allow them to have their $25 million (make sure that we replace whatever is in that account with genuine currency to stop/slow the flow of counterfeiting), but warn them: If you screw us on this, we will cause more than $25 million worth of damage in an attack on your various nuclear facilities.

The North Korean government had a deal with us in the past and we've offered nothing but carrots to them, now it is time for the stick. We already have stealth bombers in the area, it wouldn't be difficult to drop a few bunker busters onto a nuclear facility.

Iranian Nuclear Announcement

The Iranian government has announced that not only have they NOT stopped enriching uranium (big shocker I know), but they've increased it exponentially. They now have according to various sources, approximately 3,000 centrifuges. President Ahmadinejad said that the enrichment was "irreversible" and they will defend that right "to the end."

Ahmadinejad also warned that Iran would "reconsider its behaviour" if it was provoked by world powers. He did not go into further detail. "We recommend to them that they had better respect nations' rights."

What the hell do you all think that means?? We've already acknowledged their right to nuclear power. However, they don't have a right to nuclear weapons and they certainly don't have the right to support terrorist organizations. Why do you think we offered to enrich the uranium elsewhere and let them have that nuclear fuel? Why do you suppose they refused that offer? They want nuclear weapons. There is no other explanation. The time for further sanctions is now. Complete sanctions however, are all that will truly get Iran's attention. Cut off their oil revenue, travel for certain people, freeze bank accounts, do everything under your power to keep these people from getting a weapon.

If China and Russia allow Iran to get a weapon, there will be no choice but to allow the Israelis to attack Iran's nuclear facilities and let China and Russia's economy take the hit from the increased price of oil. Let China and Russia feel the pain of irresponsibility on the world stage if they choose to go that route.

Iran Became Emboldened By British Sailor Incident

This is why you roll up a newspaper and smack a dog on the nose and tell it "no" when it gets out of line. Now some within the Iranian government think they can get away with kidnapping military personnel at will. Unfortunately for them, one day if they decide to pull this again, there's going to be a blood bath. When that happens, you'll see that the firefight took place in Iraqi waters and the Iranian government will have no choice but to admit they encroached on their neighbors territory.

This whole situation was all smoke and mirrors for their nuclear program to continue without international pressure. Well it won't work. People will start to see the Iranian government for what it really is: A sneaky, terrorist supporting regime out for nuclear weapons.

Off Topic - The UFC

This is completely off topic, but a buddy of mine lost his fight at Saturday night's UFC 69 pay per view. I won't mention who it is because of anonymity, but I have to say he gave it his all and he's a very tough man. I wish him well in his future fights.

Al-Sadr Signs Own Death Warrant

We tried to be nice. We tried to allow him into politics even though he was wanted for the murder of a rival cleric. We tolerated his anti-American rhetoric. But now, he's calling for attacks against US troops. That puts a line in the sand and he's now a fair target to be captured or killed.

Notice how he does it while he's inside Iran, where he thinks he's safe.
