Democrats Are Wrong About Iraq
If the U.S. troop buildup in Iraq is reversed before the summer of the military will risk giving up the security gains it has achieved at a cost of hundreds of American lives over the past six months, the commander of U.S. forces south of Baghdad said Friday. Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, mentioned none of the proposals in Congress for beginning to withdraw U.S. troops as soon as this fall. But he made clear in an interview that in his area of responsibility south of Baghdad, it will take many more months to consolidate recent gains. "It's going to take through (this) summer, into the fall, to defeat the extremists in my battle space, and it's going to take me into next spring and summer to generate this sustained security presence," he said, referring to an Iraqi capability to hold gains made by U.S. forces.
Worse for Democrats, is the Pentagon is telling you what I've told you all along: Talk of time lines and withdrawal is feeding enemy propaganda.
"Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies in Iraq, much as we are perceived to have done in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia," Edelman wrote in the July 16 letter.
"Such talk understandably unnerves the very same Iraqi allies we are asking to assume enormous personal risks," he added.

Republican Outburst
Cynthia McKinney didn't do that. Instead, she tried to blame it on race, sexism and other bullshit reasons why she was being asked to come back to see the officer. What does she do in response? She slugs the officer in the chest. Then she has the nerve to bring out all sorts bullshit artists like Danny Glover and Harry Belefonte who all claimed it was a black/white issue.
Shays apologized for his behavior and took responsibility for it. Now, if he had slugged the officer, he should go to jail and be removed from office. The article says that he reached for the officers name tag, however you simply don't touch police officers. They have a tendency to kick your ass for doing that. Personally, I'd LOVE to see a cop beat down a politician who's acting all uppity, but it probably won't happen in my lifetime.
Regardless, my point is, is that Shay didn't turn it into a "it's because I'm a black person" bullshit ruse like everyone knew McKinney did. Let's face facts here people, when you say "it's because I'm black", it's essentially crying wolf. Sooner or later, people are going to stop listening to your racist complaints and then when a REAL racist event happens, people are going to think you're full of shit.

Bush Signs Order Forbidding Torture
However, I do feel better knowing that the CIA is doing everything in it's power to thwart attacks against the US and our interests. It's very comforting to know that there are people out there willing to put the squeeze on someone just to make it so you can sleep at night safely.
Of course, one man's "torture" is another man's "technique". Sleep deprivation, extreme temperatures, uncomfortable positioning, loud music, even subliminal messaging are all legit techniques in my book. Hell, even waterboarding make Khalid give up his terrorist cohorts within minutes. I know of not one case where waterboarding killed someone, so it's a legit technique to me as well.
However, there are others that claim that the only thing that's acceptable is simply asking nicely. Now, that's a start, however, I only ask a question twice. Third time, you're getting the techniques above until you give me the answers I'm looking for, not the answers I want to hear. Lie to me and you'll live the rest of your life dealing with my above mentioned techniques. It would be in your best interests to answer me truthfully the first time, otherwise, waking up in the morning in 40 degree temperatures does not make for a comfortable living. Hell, I'll even warn you about it. If you tell me the truth, your life will be comfortable. Lie to me and X will happen next.

The Luckiest Marine Alive
Thomas will be demoted to the rank of entry-level private and will receive a bad-conduct discharge.
Conspiracy to commit murder, larceny, housebreaking, kidnapping, and making false official statements and he didn't get a day of jail time. I don't know how military justice works, but that seems awfully light in view of the charges against this Marine. While the article is a bit lacking in details, I just would be very surprised if this wasn't very exceptional sentence for whatever reason. Normally, I would imagine that any Marine convicted of such charges would get a lot of jail time. Are there any Marines out there with knowledge of this type of thing to set us all hip?

The Following Senators Should Be Impeached For Incompetence
| Akaka (D-HI) Biden (D-DE) Bingaman (D-NM) Boxer (D-CA) Brown (D-OH) Byrd (D-WV) Cantwell (D-WA) Cardin (D-MD) Carper (D-DE) Casey (D-PA) Dodd (D-CT) Durbin (D-IL) Feingold (D-WI) | Harkin (D-IA) Inouye (D-HI) Kennedy (D-MA) Kerry (D-MA) Klobuchar (D-MN) Kohl (D-WI) Lautenberg (D-NJ) Leahy (D-VT) Levin (D-MI) Lincoln (D-AR) McCaskill (D-MO) Menendez (D-NJ) Mikulski (D-MD) | Murray (D-WA) Nelson (D-FL) Pryor (D-AR) Reed (D-RI) Reid (D-NV) Rockefeller (D-WV) Salazar (D-CO) Sanders (I-VT) Stabenow (D-MI) Tester (D-MT) Webb (D-VA) Whitehouse (D-RI) Wyden (D-OR) |
Take a good look at the above Senators. These people voted NO on an amendment that would grant people immunity from lawsuits if they in good faith report suspicious activity.
I'll give 100-1 odds that their excuse will be "racial profiling". It's history repeating itself. Actor James Woods reported suspicious activity and the FAA never bothered to follow up on his reporting and some of the people he saw ended up slamming airplanes into various things on 9/11.
Wake the fuck up people, these people in power who voted to STRIP YOU OF PROTECTION don't deserve to keep their jobs. Would you want a cop to be on the job if he didn't feel like patrolling a particular neighborhood?
Let's take a look at some quick facts here:
No Republican voted NO. That tells you something right there. It tells you that each Republican in the Senate "gets it" and understands the threat. Terrorists will either attack us, or sue us, which is what the "flying imams" are doing right now. You know who's name voted YES that shocked the fuck out of me? Hillary Clinton. HILLARY FUCKING CLINTON gets it. I feel almost dirty for agreeing with her 100% on this. But when you're right, you're right, regardless of what side of politics you're on.
Both of my Senators voted NO. They are getting a phone call about this in a little bit. What they are doing is stripping out a layer of protection against terrorist attacks: The general public. No one is going to report suspicious activity if they think they are going to be sued if they are wrong.
If I am reported to be acting suspiciously, and I end up missing my flight. Here's what I expect to happen once they see that I'm not a terrorist: A free flight anywhere in the world I want, a written apology, and a private jet to my original destination. That is fair compensation if I am detained falsely. I don't deserve 5 million dollars because my feelings were hurt, I don't get the right to cry out how it's "white guy phobia" or any other bullshit excuse that you're seeing professional whiners play out in the media.
Security is a deadly serious game when it comes to what basically is a flying missile filled with highly combustible jet fuel and enough kinetic energy to knock down buildings. I would rather they err on the side of caution rather than us watch their screwup on CNN.
One last thing though. Let's call out Barack Obama. He didn't vote on this resolution. I think it's either a calculated move by his part to avoid going on record against terrorism and protecting the American public, OR he's too busy running for President to do his fucking job.
That allows him to take any position that he likes, depending on how the wind blows. If it's an popular vote, then he'll say he was too busy running for President. If it's an unpopular vote, he'll say he was abstaining in protest. Either way doesn't speak well for him as a leader. As a leader, you need to make a stand on all issues and be there to actually do your job.
So, does this prove my point that he's all style and no substance? It certainly appears that way.
So, next time you're in an airport and see something suspicious, you have to ask yourself something: Do I do what's right and possibly save hundreds or thousands of peoples lives? Or do I keep quiet because I don't want to get sued? A real man/woman knows the answer to that question. Here's a hint: If you're confused as to how to answer, you're a coward.

Whine Whine Whine
It asks the question of if you're living the "American Dream". Well, yes I am. I have a comfortable job, live in a large home with 3 cars and my wife and I both make a very good wage. How did we get this way? We worked our asses off, paid attention in school, and didn't mouth off to our bosses when we really REALLY wanted to.
That leads to advancement, better pay, physically easier jobs, and better benefits. Job not cutting it? We got better jobs. Didn't like the house we were in? Got a bigger one, but we did it without slitting our own financial throats to get it.
The point is, it's really not that difficult to live the "American Dream". Work hard, keep your nose to the grindstone, don't live above your means, save money, and you too can have everything that America has to offer.

George Bush And The Fourth Amendment
Section 1. (a) Except to the extent provided in section 203(b)(1), (3), and (4) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(1), (3), and (4)), or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense
That directly contradicts the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Normally, I have no problem giving a politician the tools they need to accomplish a certain goal. However, I will NOT give up ANY Constitutional rights to have them accomplish that goal. What I would ideally like to see is the next President come in and say "the following things that the previous President did were un Constitutional and I am rescinding them now".
That will instill confidence in everyone, including international allies that we are going to be on the up and up about things.
It reminds me of "My Cousin Vinny" where he says "everything that guy just said is bullshit" :)

Al Sharpton's Permission
Sharpton said he hadn't softened his views about Imus, who was dismissed from his syndicated program (simulcast on MSNBC) in April for calling the Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos." But he added that, under the right conditions, the radio star's banishment could eventually end.
Let's get a few things clear here people. First, Al Sharpton doesn't own any radio stations, therefore his opinion on where Imus gets hired on doesn't mean shit. Secondly, his "job" in life is to professionally get offended and threatened. Really, what does Al Sharpton really do? His radio show is a joke and is nothing more then a complaint line. Al Sharpton isn't the emperor of black people, therefore, you don't need his fucking permission to do anything.
Now, I don't care about Imus one way or another. I don't care about his comments about "nappy headed hos" or anything like that. He has the right to say what he wants, when he wants. The only reason he was fired is because people made a big deal about it and CBS radio was worried about lost revenue.
Personally, if Al Sharpton protested anything about me, I'd gladly tell him to go fuck himself and I wasn't going to apologize for anything until he apologizes to Steven Pagones over him being falsely accused by Tawana Brawley of rape and Al libeling Steven during that time.
So until Al decides to live as a real man, I consider his opinions to be worthless.

Russia And Britain Getting Testy
However, their response is quite troubling:
Russia announced that it would also stop issuing visas to British officials and cease cooperation on counter-terrorism.
But Whitehall sources claimed cooperation with Moscow on terrorism issues was fairly limited, and revealed that Britain had told Russia privately earlier this week that it would not longer have contact with the FSB - the successor to the KGB.
This has absolutely nothing to do with counter-terrorism, so it makes me believe that the Russian government really did have a hand in the death of this man and they really aren't that reliable a partner for other areas of international relations.

For example: There's simply no reason why a cute woman would ever be with the guy from "King of Queens". Every woman I've spoken to says it's just not going to happen.
Also, you should take a look at the TV show "Mythbusters". In it, they do a special on Hollywood crime dramas and in one of them, they use techniques to see laser trip beams. None of those trip beam "viewers" worked.
But alas, these two morons never saw that episode.
Two teenagers tried to pull a "Charlie's Angels" routine in a burglary and theft Monday night at a local tattoo parlor, police said Wednesday.
"They used hairspray," Deputy Police Chief Steve Trahan said. "They tried to disable the alarm system using hairspray so they could see the alarm beam -- it tripped the alarm.
"They said they saw it on TV."
Arrested and charged as an adult was Brittany Blow, 18, of Clinton, according to Trahan. Also arrested on juvenile charges was a 17-year-old girl from Albion, whose name was not released because of her age.Ok, so call me an asshole, but Brittany Blow sounds like a porn name. :)

With Los Alamos having security problems left and right, it makes me very nervous that guys like this can simply grab whatever and almost get away with it. Who's to say that smarter people aren't getting away with it now?

Standing Up For Smokers
Now, no one is going to argue that a childrens health insurance plan shouldn't be cut, but every time you hear about some big increase on tobacco products. The reason politicians do this is because no one stands up for smokers. You would hear people call for his crucification if he offered to bump up gasoline taxes by 168%.
All I'm saying is, start putting taxes on things that everyone uses so that everyone pays for the benefit that everyone uses. Taxing smokers to pay for something completely non related isn't fair to them as it wouldn't be fair to tax computer parts to pay for road construction.

Bennie G. Thompson Wants You Dead
Read that again if you'd like.
What that means is, if you're in an airport, and you see someone or a group of people who are acting suspicious, those who you report could sue you.
That means that actor James Woods could have been sued by the people who committed the terrorist attacks on 9/11 because he reported their suspicious activity during a dry run to the flight attendant.
The FAA did not investigate it because they thought it was racial profiling.
This guy is too dangerous to be in power. He is actively siding with terrorists and doesn't give a shit if you get sued because the attack wasn't carried out or the police don't have enough evidence to arrest or convict.
What that means is, is that people will be hesitant to report anything until it is too late. The general public is the first line and sometimes the last line of defense against an attack and to strip them of protections they rightfully deserve, is almost treasonous.
Now, that's not to say that there would be circumstances where someone was wrongfully reported. However, "good faith" is what separates lawsuit from protection. If I help someone out of a mangled car accident and I break their arm in the process, I'm ok because I'm acting on good faith. However, if I go to that same car accident and intentionally inflict pain on that person, I deserve to get sued.
This all comes from the "flying imam" case. The people involved were acting in good faith because these people were in similar positions around the plane like the 9/11 attackers, they asked for seatbelt extensions even though they didn't need them, and they were being belligerent. So, they were either terrorists or they were yanking the chain of the airlines in hopes of a lawsuit win. Either way they deserve a healthy smackdown from lawyers for the airlines and those who reported them. I hope that they get countersued for everything they own.

Utopia
However, across the pond, Norway has done just that, and they don't like it one bit.
The study also showed that 67 percent of the population think Norway's inheritance taxes are too high, while 63 percent think fuel taxes are too high. Norway's hefty 25 percent VAT (like a sales tax) on nearly all consumer items is considered too high by 53 percent of the population.
25% sales tax!!! In other words, that neat 80gb iPod you've had your eye on for $349.00 would end up costing you $436.25!
Let's face it, when it comes to taxes, people don't like them. They see government waste left and right and if I had to pay almost $100 in taxes for an 80gb iPod and saw the government throwing money away, I'd be pissed off too.
The economy is best when people can decide what to do with their money. They can buy that shiny new LCD monitor for their pc, or they can invest it and help grow the economy. They can put their child through college, or pay for a summer vacation to Hawaii.
The point is, is that governments are HUGE wasters of money and to trust them to spend the money wisely would just be idiotic. After all, when someone purchases something on behalf of the government, they don't bother with a whole lot of research on prices. It's not their money after all so why should they care?

Moscow Killing Opposition?
However, it's difficult to blame the Russians for this one:
He now runs several businesses here while also plotting Putin’s demise. He boasts of bankrolling a group in Russia who aim to bring Putin down by force.
Last night security expert Chris Dobson said the plot to assassinate him showed “Putin is behaving like the thug he always was”.
Mr Dobson added: “The Russians have always believed it is their right to assassinate their enemies wherever they are. They take no notice of diplomatic treaties.”
So you're having a guy who's trying to overthrow the Russian government and take out Putin in a coup, but he's saying that Putin is "behaving like a thug"? Then he has the nerve to mention they don't recognize treaties, but this guy is wanting to remove Putin by force.

Travistravis@rightwinglunatic.com
Gas Prices
This is the problem. We should be driving less NOW. Doing otherwise keeps demand up and allows oil companies to shoot up the price of gas for not other reason. Sure, a barrel of oil does cost significantly more then when it was $1.80 a gallon, but not enough to justify $3.00 a gallon now. I drive my car as little as possible now simply because of the price of gas. What's worse is that when gas does go down, it'll settle on down to around $2.40-$2.60 range and everyone will be happy, not remembering that it used to be $1.80.
Demand is always going to drive up the price of anything, regardless of the situation. You want gas prices to go down? STOP DRIVING AS MUCH. Decreased demand will allow the market to adjust itself and prices will go down. By a hybrid, or better yet, get an electric car when they come out of mainstream car companies. An electric car coupled with a few solar cells on the roof of your home will allow you to strip oil companies of demand for their products.
The more people that do this, the cheaper gas will have to become. If they decide to raise the price because of less demand, they will only push people further towards alternative fuels and drive themselves out of business. The MINUTE a relatively cheap car with good mileage (150+) per charge, and fast recharge time (6 hours or less) becomes available, I'm jumping ship and I won't be purchasing oil unless it's for oil changes or something minor from then on.
Please don't mistake my plans for me preaching to you. If you want to stay with your current car, by all means stay with your car. However, when, not IF, gas prices hit $4 or even $5 a gallon, you can't complain because you weren't warned.

July 4th Was A Good Day
One of those officials said the announcement of his arrest was delayed because officials wanted to "maximize their ability to get information" from him before others he was associated with knew about his detention.
Makes perfect sense to me. Now we have a few weeks worth of heads up time against Al-Qaeda. This could very well be the beginning of the end for them. One can only hope.
Al-Mashadani also shed light on the Islamic State of Iraq, the so-called umbrella group of Iraqi insurgents that includes al Qaeda in Iraq.
That group has claimed responsibility for many terrorist attacks.
But Bergner said that al-Mashadani passed on the information that the creation of the group was a ruse to cast itself as home-grown, when in fact it is led by foreigners.
It went so far as to create a fictional political head of Islamic State of Iraq, Omar al-Baghdadi and an actor was used to portray him.
Bergner said Islamic State of Iraq is "a front organization" for al Qaeda in Iraq and a "pseudonym" for it as well.
"It is really being controlled, directed and guided by al Qaeda in Iraq leadership."
No shit eh? You mean to tell me foreign fighters are converging on Iraq to fight against American troops? You mean to tell me that we were right all along? It must be a dark day for liberals who want to say that it's the Iraqi's who are becoming terrorists because we are there.Travis

Iran's Getting A Talking To
"We think that given the situation in Iraq and given Iran's continued behavior that is leading to further instability in Iraq, that it would be appropriate to have another face-to-face meeting to directly convey to the Iranian authorities that if they wish to see a more stable, secure, peaceful Iraq, which is what they have said they would like to see, that they need to change their behavior," spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.
"They need to stop supporting sectarian militias that are exacerbating sectarian tensions, they need to stop supporting EFP networks that pose a direct threat to our troops," he said, referring to Explosively Formed Penetrators, devices crafted to penetrate armored vehicles that Washington claims are being sent to insurgents by Iran.
"It is important to directly convey to the Iranian government the importance of their changing their behavior, not only for the safety of our troops, but also for the future of Iraq," McCormack said.
Umm....what??? "Behavior"?? The Iranians are only doing this simply because they are exerting their region power and they have seen so far that they've gotten away with it. You throw a bomb their way, they will back down. They've been supporting the insurgency now for years and they simply cannot be allowed to get away with it. They need to be hauled in front of the UN for their nuclear program and sanctioned severely. They need to have a weapons factory bombed to rubble. They need to have Russia and China against them. If Russia and China cannot or will not back sanctions for such blatantly obvious acts of war, then it might become time for other drastic measures to be taken: Allow the Israeli's to attack Iran. Regardless of what happens, the US is going to get blamed anyways. The Israeli's are foaming at the mouth, ready to strike and they simply can't afford to have a nuclear Iran sitting next door to them.
Now that attack could come in many ways. Targeted assassinations of key scientists or leaders, airstrikes against their nuclear facilities, sabotage of various other facilities, destroying oil rigs, and more. Do you think that China would be taking this on the chin if all of a sudden Japan started ratcheting up the rhetoric against them and talking about "peaceful" nuclear plants? Do you think China would allow Japanese people to flow into their borders with $10,000 sniper rifles to kill Chinese soldiers? Of course not, so why should we be any different?
The time for peaceful resolutions to this situation is fast running out. If Iran wants to continue to have a normal relationship with the rest of the international community, it had better shape up or the consequences will be dire.

John Kerry Gets A Pair?
Still stung by accusations of his own flip-flopping, U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday put the shoe on the other foot, accusing former Gov. Mitt Romney of being the real chameleon of presidential politics and jabbing him with the same painful taunts that helped sink Team Kerry in 2004.
“Let’s be very clear. I had not changed my positions and they played a game with that,” Kerry said of his Republican opponents in the 2004 race.
By contrast, he said, Romney is far more deserving of the flip-flopper label. “He’s changed on abortion, he’s changed on gay rights and he’s changed on marriage,” Kerry said. “He’s changed on guns and he’s changed on the war. That’s pretty significant. I think people are asking the question out there, ‘Who is he, really?’ ”
Sure sounds like he's grown a pair (too bad it took him so long to do it) But alas, he gets slapped back like a hooker who's holding out on her pimp.
A Romney spokesman quickly returned fire yesterday, charging that Kerry is harboring the delusions of a fallen contender.
“This is a textbook case of Freudian projection,” Eric Fehrnstrom said. “John Kerry is projecting his own undesirable traits onto other people. It’s a mild form of personality disorder. Usually, it’s not a cause for concern unless it shows up in a U.S. senator.”
Ouch. I was ALMOST rooting for Kerry since he started looking like he had grown a pair and was going on the offensive, but alas, he got verbally smacked back into place. Sad really, you'd think that the guy would know when to keep his mouth shut, but you'd be wrong. :)

Both Sides Of The Same Coin
Of course, you also have Al-Qaeda's #2 guy saying that Iraq is the focal point in their fight with us, so who's right? I think we all know the answer to that question: I am. Democrats are wanting to pull us out before the September report and Al-Qaeda's seizing on it for propaganda saying "See! I told you we could beat the Americans."
Hell, even Russian President Putin has smelled blood in the water and is now going power hungry. It all comes down to weakness. Weakness on the part of Democrats who want to pull out before the job is done. Weakness from people who don't want to take the fight to those who threaten us (Iran...I'm looking in your direction). Weakness on the part of everyone involved who didn't want to let our military take the gloves off, whip some ass, and go home.
Do you know why this war has lasted longer than WWII? Because when we fought WWII, we didn't pussy foot around. We came in, kicked ass, and went home. Sure, there were times where things looked dark, but when it came down to brass tacks, we made sure that we captured or killed anyone who appeared to be the enemy.
That hasn't happened in this war. Everyone wants to second guess troop movements, military commanders decisions, place everyone on Youtube that could possibly be made to make America look bad, and what have we done about it? Nothing. We keep taking more and more bullshit from everyone on all sides and we don't say or do a God damned thing about it.
We're too worried about international incidents with Pakistan when it comes to tribal leaders protecting Osama Bin Laden. Osama's guys were responsible for more deaths than Japan's Pearl Harbor attack. You saw the price that Japan paid in August 1945.
I'm rambling on, but my basic point is this: Get the Iraqi's on their feet as quickly as possible, stop second guessing military commanders, stop taking snippets of what military commanders say and twist it towards your particular point of view ala Michael Moore, capture or kill anyone involved in the insurgency in Iraq, regardless of where they come from (Iran, I'm looking at you again), go into Pakistan regardless of whether or not Pakistan wants us there or not (Remember "You're either with us, or you're with the terrorists"?)
Also, remember that "we will not make a distinction between those that harbor terrorists, and terrorists themselves"? So Pakistan should have NO problem letting us do our thing since they are on our side right? If we break something along the way, we'll write them a check.
When Democrats get serious about fighting against those who wake up in the morning dreaming of killing Americans, then I'll stop treating them like the spineless pussies that they are. Until that day, I'll keep pointing out their idiocy.
That also goes for Republicans. Stand up for yourselves and stop allowing everyone to bash everything that you stand for.
President Bush: Catch a fucking clue. Put more people and more money into getting Bin Laden and Al-Zahahiri. I don't care if it costs a trillion dollars, I want them both dead. Let people in the field do their thing. Give them unlimited freedom and funds to get the job done. I don't care who captures or kills them, I just want it done. Navy SEALS, Air Force bombers, goat farmers in Pakistan, whatever it takes. Stop telling me that "Bin Laden doesn't matter" He DOES matter. Yes, dismantling Al-Qaeda is very important, but the psychological damage killing him an Al-Zahahiri would do to Al-Qaeda's morale cannot be underestimated.
We aren't going anywhere in Iraq until the job is done. To do otherwise is dishonorable to those who died, dishonest to Iraqi citizens, and irresponsibly hand over a very large propaganda piece to Al-Qaeda.
Now look at me, I'm rambling on like a man on fire. :) I just get sick and tired of people undermining the efforts of men and women who stand watch over us and others with a weapon and defends them without asking for anything in return.

Congressman Compares Bush To Hitler
It's almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted.""
Mr Ellison said he would not accuse the Bush administration of planning 9/11 because "you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box - dismiss you".
Well if you're comparing Bush to Hitler, who was responsible for the deaths of 6 million people, I think you're a bit stretching it here. Of course, I'm going to put you in the nut-ball box for your comments about the Reichstag fire. You state that "they blamed the Communists for it" and then put Hitler into power with unlimited authority.
Tell me, how does "blaming it on the Communists" not put you in the nut-ball box? You yourself believe that Osama Bin Laden was behind the 9/11 attacks, so how is it that anyone is blaming anyone besides Osama?
A convert to Islam who was previously linked to the extremist Nation of Islam.
NOW we're starting to see how his line of thinking works. We all remember the NOI leader Farrakhan right? The same guy that said "Hitler was a very great man". You'll have to excuse me if I don't exactly buy into this guy's line of thinking. It would be the same thing if I told you all about how Al Sharpton eats puppies, but I used to be a member of the KKK or something. Everything I say becomes suspect if that were true.
When Bush starts ordering American citizens be rounded up and tortured to death on a grand scale, THEN you can make the Hitler comparison, until then, you're just plain wrong.

North Korean Nuclear Reactor Shut Down
However, if North Korea reneges on this deal in the future, then the gloves should come off and military strikes should happen. They've already broken a deal set up by the Clinton administration, so they rightfully should be under a microscope for a very long time.

Bad Math
The same analogy can be said of a Clinton/Obama campaign that this woman is pushing. Her idea is to take the two biggest Democratic Presidential candidates, put them both on the same bill, and you're pretty much guaranteed a White House victory in November 2008. However, there's several problems with that.
First: Ego. Barack has publicly said he would gladly do something like that if Hillary was his VP candidate. There's no way in hell Hillary is going to take a back seat to Obama. Her ego and ruthlessness won't allow it.
Secondly: Hillary. Over 50% of Americans polled have said that they would never vote for Hillary, even if they themselves were Democratic leaning. Some people may say "Obama I like, but since it's also Hillary, no thanks".
Third: Jabs. Each one has jabbed the other for various issues. Obama on his inexperience and lack of a plan. Hillary for her vote on the Iraq war, etc. If this ticket were to happen, you can bet smart Republican political strategists would take those jabs and work them into campaign speeches. I know I would.
Lastly: Democrats. Yes, the Democratic party would rip itself a new one if they had to vote for this ticket. They would all start infighting about which candidate deserves what, and a smart Republican candidate would play one side against another and vice versa. The result? A party that can't get anything done right and will appear weak and unable to fill the role of the Presidency.

Pot, Meet Kettle
China can ill afford to have this reputation, which is why they are clamping down on anyone who even remotely could be responsible for the ongoing concerns of unhealthy environments. Their economy can be easily disturbed if they start getting the reputation of loose quality controls and that will thwart their plans of economic super stardom.
If China was really serious about cleaning up their act, they'd allow people to inspect their factories and do random tests like we do here in the US. They may do that already, but a more public showing might help alleviate those fears.

White House Correct...For Once
However, the White House was correct in telling them "no" until his report comes out.
This makes perfect sense for the White House to do. First off, why cut the general off at the knees when he's making progress? Why change his course of action before his report is due? That's like changing the rules right in the middle of the game. It's not fair to do.
Now, that being said, if General Petraeus' report states that the Iraqi's are failing miserably and aren't doing enough to get back on their own feet, then yes, they have every right to ask for a change in course. Until that report is ready though, it's all premature ejaculation on their part.

Dumb Leaders
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Saturday that the Iraqi army and police are capable of keeping security in the country when American troops leave "any time they want," though he acknowledged the forces need further weapons and training.
Kind of a contradiction don't you think? We can "leave any time we want" but you need further weapons and training. Those two aren't mutually exclusive. You either need our help or you don't. Already his aide is saying that his words were "misunderstood". Whatever the case may be, if the Iraqi government isn't ready by the time we do leave, who ever started the leaving process: Bush, Democrats, or the Iraqi leader, they'll have hell to pay.
