Yearly Kos Liar And Hypocrite Jon Soltz

Thanks to a reader who pointed this out to me:

Busted! Shining light on a cockroach.

It appears that we have a hypocrite on our hands. I think we all remember the Yearly Kos idiot who censored the soldier and threatened him because he was supposedly making political statements while in uniform. Well, unfortunately for Jon Soltz, the guy who did the threatening, the soldier wasn't making any political statements, and here's a picture of Jon in uniform on his POLITICAL WEBSITE. Hypocrisy seems to know no limits with the anti-war liberal left. Unfortunately, this appears to be no different. I have written to Jon and here's a copy of that letter below:

I think it's rather odd that Jon would berate a soldier for telling how the surge is working as political talk and how he threatened the soldier with speaking with his superior. I also find it odd that Jon would make statements like "you will never make statements like that again while in uniform", while there's a picture of Jon IN UNIFORM on your POLITICAL WEBSITE.

http://www.votevets.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=199&Itemid=80

I run a political blog and I plan on exposing this hypocrisy of Jon's. It saddens me that any real constructive ideas he brings to the table is destroyed by his arrogance and hypocrisy. Unfortunately, hypocrisy seems to be a running them with the Left.

I thought you should know that people on the Right will know of the hypocritical nature of who they are debating when they go on talk shows and think twice before debating a man who treated a fellow soldier so harshly for actions he's done himself. If you would like to reply publicly, I would be more than happy to give time and space on the front page of my blog for your rebuttal.

That being said, I would like to thank Jon for his military service. Without people like him, I would not have the freedom to say and do the things I do on a daily basis.

Regards,

Travis

Need More Proof?

Need more proof that Hillary will say anything that would get her into power? Remember the article I wrote about Barack Obama saying he won't use nuclear weapons and Hillary stating that his statement was "naive".

Well, she said the exact same thing a little more than a year ago when discussing Iran. She said it almost word for word: "I would certainly take nuclear weapons off the table"

So which is it hypocritical Hillary? Is Barack correct or did you lie?

Of course, her campaign folks are trying to "put it in perspective"

Her campaign spokesman, Phil Singer, said the circumstances for her remarks last year were different than the situation Obama faced.

"She was asked to respond to specific reports that the Bush-Cheney administration was actively considering nuclear strikes on Iran even as it refused to engage diplomatically," he said. "She wasn't talking about a broad hypothetical nor was she speaking as a presidential candidate. Given the saber-rattling that was coming from the Bush White House at the time, it was totally appropriate and necessary to respond to that report and call it the wrong policy."

So the fact that she wasn't running for President at the time means what now? Obama wasn't talking about a broad hypothetical either. You could call it a wrong policy, but don't backtrack when you're caught being a hypocrite. It makes you look like a hypocrite AND a liar.

Ricky Martin Wants To Adopt

But he wants to adopt a child "from each continent if possible". They're children, not a collector's set you moron, treat them as such, otherwise we'll see you on the front page of the news talking about where you went wrong in your parenting.

Cindy's Officially Running

Oh God thank you so much for the bounty of entertainment we are about to receive!

I personally don't think she has a snowball's chance in hell. However, if you don't think she's milking her son's death for all it's worth, take a look at the podium where she's standing. There's a picture of her son. If she weren't milking his death, why would the picture be there? It's there to remind people that she's a distraught mother who deserves sympathy, and for her, hopefully, a vote.

Let's not forget that Casey had volunteered for the military, and even volunteered for the mission that eventually ended his life. I can only imagine what he would think of the situation his mother has put herself into.

Debate Of Hillary

I think I've found my new hero. Buzz Patterson, a man who worked intimately with the Clinton's for two years, says Hillary is a "dove in hawk's clothing" and "she will say anything she can to get elected to Presidency" as well as calls her a "pathological liar". He tells everyone what we already know: Hillary is an anti-American, anti-military power monger who will do or say anything to get to the top. Mr. Patterson also uses facts and statistics to back up his claim.

But take a look at the other end of the debate. Why it's none other than the guy who led the forums that censored the soldier at Yearly Kos, Jon Soltz.

Of course, Soltz comes off looking like a complete asshole to me, but maybe I'm looking at it from the wrong angle. Either way Soltz certainly doesn't come across as a likable person. He appears to be using his "I've been to Iraq" button to deflect from the core issues at hand.

Iran To Iraq: US Should Withdraw

An end to violence in Iraq depends on the United States withdrawing its troops, Iran told Iraq’s prime minister on Thursday, seeking to deflect the blame for bloodshed that Washington directs at Tehran.

Well of course the violence would end, Iran would no longer have a target to shoot at. Besides, isn't this a little like the wolf telling the chicken that the farmer has to go?

Damn It George, Stop That!

It's time for me to take a slap at George W. Bush. While I agree with a lot of things he says and does, this one needs to be slapped back.

George has said "no" to raising gas taxes to pay for needed bridge repair work. I can definately see where he's going with that line of thinking "gas prices are too high", which I agree with.

However, there's a difference between not raising taxes and cutting taxes.

George wants to look at cutting corporate taxes.

President Bush said yesterday that he is considering a fresh plan to cut tax rates for U.S. corporations to make them more competitive around the world, an initiative that could further inflame a battle with the Democratic Congress over spending and taxes and help define the remainder of his tenure.

Advisers presented Bush with a series of ideas to restructure corporate taxes, possibly eliminating narrowly targeted breaks to pay for a broader, across-the-board rate cut. In an interview with a small group of journalists afterward, Bush said he was "inclined" to send a corporate tax package to Congress, although he expressed uncertainty about its political viability.

George, just TODAY you have expressed concern about China's immense amount of financial power they have and how "foolhardy" it would be for them to exert any pressure on bringing down the dollar. That's a giant red flag that should be going off in your head. It should be a wake up call that you can't keep spending like there's no tomorrow.

One of the core Republican values is lesser government and lesser spending. So why cut taxes on some of the biggest tax payers when the country is desperately in need of getting out of debt? It's idiocy at best and negligence at worse.

You're uncertain of it's political viability?? Really genius? You think that cutting taxes to corporate taxpayers is going to fly in a Democratically controlled Congress? Those are the same people who want to "take the profits of oil companies". So you have ZERO chance of that flying.

Stop the waste, stop the extravagant spending, and get this country out of debt. You wouldn't pay less on your credit card bill, so why are you doing esentially the same thing?

If businesses need to compete on a world market, let them adjust like any other company in the US has done for hundreds of years. If they can't adjust, they die out. Simple as that. Getting unfair competition from other countries? Raise tariffs. That will level the playing field. China and other countries can't afford to lose the American market, so they'll adjust too.

DailyKos Founder Fined For Unethical Stock Bump

Oh the irony certainly is thick here. DailyKos, a well known liberal blog, has found one of it's co-founders in trouble with the SEC.

Jerome Armstrong has agreed to pay nearly $30,000 in fines in a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission over allegations that Armstrong touted the stock of a software company, without disclosing that he was being paid to do so, the NY TIMES reports.

Under the agreement, Armstrong neither denies nor admits to the allegations.

Hmm....I don't get the feeling that either you or I would pay $30,000 in fines to the SEC unless you were truly guilty of something. Especially an unethical stock incident. Isn't this the same kind of behavior that Republicans are constantly being accused of by liberals? Isn't this the same kind of "back alley deal" that liberals love to point to and accuse conservatives of corruption?

Isn't this the same kind of thing that would be on the front page of CNN right now if it were a conservative? Liberals love to point out hypocrisy in Republicans such as Mark Foley, so I think they readily deserve to have it shoved back into their faces.

Reply From China Story

While the President has replied that any attempts by China to devalue the dollar as "foolhardy" I feel much better with the US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, saying that the idea would be "absurd".

Personally, I would still like to see China's reserve of our dollars shrink significantly. When you have one country owning such a large amount of US bonds, you then have a recipe for blackmail. To tell you the truth, I'd rather we cap the amount of bonds and foreign investment at a set amount, that way no one country can hold anything over our heads.

I'd also like to see this country get significantly further out of debt. Say a few billion at most. With government waste as high as it is, simple belt tightening would significantly help out in that arena. If China's trade gap doesn't start evening out, we can simply add tariffs or ask companies to move operations to another country and offer tax incentives to do so. You can even go one further by moving operations back to the US, but to more rural areas.

I've read stories where instead of moving an operation to China, India, or any other cheaper nation, companies have decided to move operations to Montana, Arkansas, and other rural states.

Matt Damon And George Clooney

Well let's start with where you're wrong:

The Hollywood star told Sydney Morning Herald, "I think films have gotten better since everything started to go off the rails a few years ago. Suddenly all these people are coming out with things to say.

You think films have gotten better in the last few years?? Ok, how about these stinkers: Unaccompanied Minors, Hairspray, Who's Your Caddy, Crossover, From Justin To Kelly, Glitter, Are We Done Yet?, and Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector.

You can't tell me with crap like this that movies are getting better. Sure, there have been lots of popular movies in the last few years, but when was the last good modern classic released? When was the last Star Wars, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, Silence Of The Lambs, or even American History X?

All the above mentioned movies, regardless of content, made you care about the characters and what happened to them. All of them were well written and directed.

In the upcoming U.S. presidential elections, Damon is supporting the Democrat contender Barack Obama. "[George] Clooney called him and said, 'Senator, I'd like to support you in any way I can, including staying home - because you never know how the Right in our country is going to characterize or characterize [one's] participation."'

George is correct in this one. However, he's not quite as correct as he thinks. It's not just the Right that characterize celebrity political involvement. Take a look at the 2004 election for your best example. People are tired of celebrities who think they are better then everyone else. They certainly don't like it when celebrities try to tell you how to vote, or talk down to people with opposing views.

Rosie O'Donnell, Michael Moore, George Clooney, and others had just as much to do with the election of George Bush then anyone else. They pushed people who were on the fence about a particular candidate over to one side or another. Celebrities simply don't get it: People have their own political views and when a pompous asshole tells them how they are wrong or dumb or what have you, then you get someone who thinks "well I'm REALLY going to vote for my guy now".

The problem becomes worse for that celebrities candidate as the person who was offended then tells his/her friends and family to vote one way or another and it snowballs.

I voted for George W. Bush in 2000 because Al Gore was for gun control.

That's it. That's the entire reason why Gore lost my vote. Up until that point, I really didn't pay that much attention to politics. However, as an avid gun collector and sport shooter, I don't think it's up to some idiot in the White House to tell me what kind of guns I can and can't have. The Constitution says I can be armed. Period.

I voted for George W. Bush in 2004 because I thought John Kerry was a weaselly type who would cave under any amount of minor pressure. I can't have that when we're dealing with terrorism. Certainly there's lots of things I don't agree with Bush on, like immigration issues, but Kerry simply didn't come to me and say "vote for me and this is what I'll do". He simply said "I'm not George W. Bush. I will tell you my plan for America once I'm in office".

Sorry John, that's simply not good enough. You want to lead my nation, you have to hit the ground running with a solid plan on how to run things. Don't have one? You're not prepared enough to run my nation. Don't want to tell me the plan before you get elected? That's as good as not having a plan.

Pearl Jam Pissed

So, let me get this straight: members of Pearl Jam were pissed that their anti-Bush remarks were censored in a webcast, that AT&T said was due to an editors mistake, but where were they when the soldier at YearlyKos was being censored?

Watch for liberals to get all up in arms over this issue, talking about boycotts, censorship, and Freedom of Speech, yet those same people were dead quiet about the soldier.

While stopping short of calling the omission intentional censorship, the band's Web site said the incident "troubles us as artists, but also as citizens concerned with the issue of censorship and the increasingly consolidated control of the media."

"If a company that is controlling a Webcast is cutting out bits of our performance -- not based on laws, but on their own preferences and interpretations -- fans have little choice but to watch the censored version," the band said. "What happened to us this weekend was a wake-up call, and it's about something much bigger than the censorship of a rock band."

You're absolutely right. Censorship has to be stopped by EVERYONE. So when I hear you defend the rights of someone you don't agree with, then you'll get my support. However, you still do have the right to say what you said, regardless of my point of view.

Question For Gay People

If most of the candidates for President don't support one of your core issues, why are you hosting one of their debates? Personally, I'm for gay marriage. I simply don't see a problem with two people who love each other can't get the same benefits and services that heterosexual married people get.

That means health insurance, tax benefits, and also, the downfalls of divorce such as alimony, child support, and splitting of assets. I can't really blame gay folks for not liking Republicans on this issue as a lot of prominent Republicans have come out against gay marriage, but support a lesser "civil union". Of course, "civil unions" is just a play on words to keep those who aren't for gay marriage happy.

If "civil unions" have the same benefits and pitfalls of marriage, what's the problem with calling it marriage?

But I'm getting off topic. This would be the same as if you had the Brady Bill folks hosting a Republican Presidential debate. Gun control is a core issue of Republicans and I would find it hard to believe that such an event would happen.

How The Anti-War Thinks

When asked about his son's military service, Mitt Romney said this:

"The good news is that we have a volunteer Army and that's the way we're going to keep it," Romney told some 200 people gathered in an abbey near the Mississippi River that had been converted into a hotel. "My sons are all adults and they've made decisions about their careers and they've chosen not to serve in the military and active duty and I respect their decision in that regard."

Exactly right. His sons are adults and he has no right to tell them they HAVE to enlist in the military. This is exactly what I'm talking about when I tell you about the idiocy of the anti-war crowd.

They love to tell you about how politicians aren't "sending their children off to war". Well that's not how it works. Children have a mind of their own and if they want to enlist, they'll enlist. It's not up to the parent whether or not they go. There is no draft, it's all volunteer.

So by the anti-war crowd's logic, they should have enlisted for the fight in Afghanistan right? They are for getting Osama and his guys right? So when is Michael Moore and other prominent anti-war idiots going to join up for the fight in Afghanistan?

The point is that they won't do it because everyone is focused on Iraq. They like to bring children into the mix in hopes that they stir up the basic need of parents to protect their children and make the person who supports the war look like an idiot or a hypocrite. However, their logic doesn't stand up once you bring Afghanistan into the mix.

House Gym

With all the talk about being fiscally responsible, it really pisses me off that Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii), wants an $8 million dollar renovation of the House's members only gym. Of course, other Democrats are nervous about it as they know that they'll get crucified in the public eye for spending money on themselves yet not doing enough for the American people.

Democratic leaders held a special meeting with Abercrombie earlier this year to tell him that now is not the time for a new House gym and also instructed him not to mention the issue to reporters, according to Democratic sources.

Notice how they aren't saying "no", they are saying "not now". They will happily spend the money but because the spotlight's on them right now, they don't want that to be front and center. They'll try to get it passed when no one is really paying attention.

And another thing, what kind of gym are you getting for $8 million? I know damned good and well that you can get a brand new, state of the art Bally's gym, WITH A NEW BUILDING for $8 million. So what's so special that they need that kind of cash for? You can't tell me that they are going to do something special enough to warrant that kind of money. If you need new exercise equipment, that's fine. Those cost a few thousand bucks each at most. A state of the art treadmill costs around $3,500. I imagine if you bought several, you could get a nice deal.

So Democrats, until you bring spending back under control, you're just going to have to deal with your "poor members only gym" the way it is. Suck it up, there are those of us who actually have to PAY for such treatment.

How Would You Attack America?

What a dumb thing to do. Open up a public forum to give ideas to terrorists. That being said, I've walked in downtown and looked at buildings and thought to myself "I wonder how a terrorist would take that building down". Perhaps I might make a good counter-terrorism guy, especially with my strong chemistry and partial military background.

I must admit I've looked around at security vulnerabilities, and thought "if I were a bad guy, I'd do this". I'm not going to share those ideas here on the slim chance I have the next Mohammed Atta as a reader, but the thought still remains the same: With an open and free society that we live in, it's almost impossible to guard against terrorist attacks.

However, there have been documented cases where Al-Qaeda members have gotten into this country, found out the same things I know (that this country is the greatest) and then completely turned around and didn't go through with the attack simply because they were welcomed with open arms just like any other immigrant. Sometimes a free and open society is your biggest defense against attack.

Microsoft - War On Terror Overblown

Yes, because when you think "security experts" you think "Microsoft". When you think "guy's who know what they're talking about", you think "Microsoft".

And this goes all the way up to the US's so-called "War on Terror".

So called? I guess the World Trade Center and 3,000 American lives are really still there. I guess that it was all an elaborate hoax to get us to invade Afghanistan and Iraq. It really pisses me off and degrades those who died as a simple statistic or worse.

According to Steve, are any of us really made safer by taking our shoes off to go through metal detectors?

It certainly would have caught Richard Reid.

Surely X-ray scanners which can see right through people's clothing is an unacceptable breach of privacy?

This is the most common argument against security in airports. Let me be clear: You do NOT have a reasonable expectation of privacy when getting on an airplane. If you did, the Supreme Court would have gotten lawsuits galore over "breaches" in people's privacy. Simply put, your privacy is outweighed by the safety and security of the 200 other peoples lives.

At the very least, do we want to live in a society where this is the accepted norm
?

If you don't, you can move to another country that doesn't have these security features in place and then scream "why didn't they connect the dots" when a terrorist attack happens. Also, you don't HAVE to fly anywhere. You can drive, take a Greyhound or even take Amtrak.

No one is forcing you to get on an airplane.

I'm not talking about giving up any civil liberties, I'm talking about people who seem to think that there aren't any bad guys out there trying to kill you. I don't want any civil liberties taken away any more then anyone else.

Arctic Rights Being Pursued By Canada?

I have to admit, I'm pretty happy that Canada is telling Russia to kindly go fuck themselves when it comes to claiming rights on the Arctic and all the resources it contains. Of course, I'd like to see either one of two things happen. Canada is now trying to lay claim to the Arctic.

Either no one gets access to the minerals and oil, or all nations that are bordering the Arctic evenly split the proceeds from extraction of said resources. Personally, I'd prefer the latter of the two. That would mean more oil and natural resources for the US, and depending on how much is actually there, may even take us off of foreign oil sources.

I'd prefer also that we drill up in Alaska because if everyone's screaming about getting off of foreign oil (Democrats and Republicans alike), then you have no room to complain when we explore for other natural resources within the United States.

To offer a compromise to environmentalists, triple the amount of fines and damages that occur when an oil company screws up. So, if there's a million dollar fine for safety hazards, if you're in Alaska and drilling, those same screw ups cost you $3 million. It keeps them on their toes for safety and environmental concerns, and if they do it right, it doesn't cost anyone any extra.

Foot And Mouth Disease - Bioterrorism?

Those investigating the recent foot and mouth disease problem in Ireland are pointing towards a lab that could have been the source of the disease. They are even investigating the possibility of direct, malicious release of the disease.

Unfortunately for most bioterrorists, if true, diseases and other forms of weaponized bacteria only infect a small amount of area and don't do the drastic type of damage and death that they hope for. My gut feeling is that someone screwed up and this got accidentally dispersed into the environment. I don't think you'll find malice involved, just incompetence or at worst, apathy.

Company Charged With Manslaughter

Now, we're talking. Corporate responsibility for a tragic event is sorely lacking in many areas, and to see the glue company who's product failed and killed someone is now being charged with involuntary manslaughter is quite refreshing.

Unfortunately, the maximum punishment for such a crime against a corporation is $1,000. I think that if it weren't for the whole "guilty of manslaughter" bit, the glue company would simply write out a check and be done with it. However, guilt of a crime is pretty serious and could lead to drastic side problems for that company.

China's Crossed The Line

It appears now that China has gotten a bit too big for it's britches and is now threatening to ruin the US economy if it doesn't get it's way. While it's very unlikely that they'll screw their biggest customer and themselves in the worst possible way, it's high time to fix this problem and I mean now.

That means that foreign investors are no longer allowed to accumulate VAST amounts of US bonds to hold over our heads at their will. Cap it at say 50 billion per country. All foreign aide that doesn't go directly towards allies will be cut, so if you're a country that's hostile towards us, sorry, you get to kindly go fuck yourself.

The government will now be run like a business. Profits and getting the best "bang for your buck" will be of high concern. Government employees who slack off continually will be fired just like any other person who works in the private sector. Democrats will not be allowed to tax and spend as usual. Republicans will not be allowed to reduce taxes and run up the tab.

This was bound to happen sooner or later folks, but unless we do something soon, we're in for a financial crisis. Spending money on frivolous bullshit like helping people make their house payment, military jet travel for Congress, and universal health care simply aren't going to happen.

It's going to take a catastrophic event to get us to take this seriously, and I think the shot has been sent across our bow. China has been gearing up for a fight for a very long time and they are doing it slowly and methodically.

They are hacking into our networks to gain military technology so they don't have to spend the money to research it on their own, they are holding a vast amount of dollars in investments, they are circumventing human rights issues so they can manufacture items for us at cut throat prices, and they've been threatening Taiwan for years. The signs are all there, they are trying to undercut us for when they go to war over Taiwan and want us to be at our weakest.

They know that the secret is our Navy, which is the most advanced in the world. They know we'll be using it heavily, so they ask for joint Navy exercises but don't give one in return. They trail our Navy destroyers via submarine and don't tell us. They purposefully keep their citizens behind a giant firewall away from any other source of news on the Internet because they know they'd get crucified. Hell, many of them don't even know about Tiananmen square, where the Chinese government massacred hundreds of their own citizens.

Take my advice people, China isn't stupid and they will undermine us at any chance they get, and if we let them, they are going to try to take power.

Typical Hillary

Regulate and spend hard earned tax payer dollars. This time it's with mortgage companies who slit their own throats by loaning money to people who shouldn't have been loaned to.

The New York senator, on the campaign trail in New Hampshire, also proposed a $1 billion fund to supplement state programs that help homeowners catch up on mortgage payments, renegotiate loan terms or provide financial counseling.

A BILLION of YOUR dollars she wants to use to help people that got in over their heads and put glitz over substance. A BILLION of YOUR dollars she wants to use to bail people out who should sell their homes and move into something more affordable. If you can't afford homeownership, maybe you should rent an apartment and save your money just like every generation before us did.

Where do you suppose that billion dollars is going to come from? You and me. With this country already up to it's eyeballs in debt, I don't feel a bit sorry for any of the players involved. If you couldn't afford the home, you shouldn't have bought it. If you normally wouldn't have loaned these people money a few years back and now you did, you deserve to eat the cost because of your greed.

Hey Hillary, I'd love some "help" on my mortgage. How about you throw a couple grand my way? Oh wait, I don't need it because I sat down and worked out the math on worst case scenarios and figured out what kind of home I could afford (4 bedroom 3 bath 2,100 sq feet if you must know). I then went shopping for a home.

Once I knew what I could afford, I simply kept my search to that amount or less. If a home was even a dollar more then what I could afford, I didn't look at it. Sure, I would have loved to have gotten a 3,500 sq. foot home with a jetted tub in the master bathroom, but I simply couldn't afford it. So what's my plan? I'm waiting for my wife's student loans to come in to see how much they are before we move forward to thinking about a newer, bigger home. It's simply planning that has helped us avoid financial pitfalls.

Sometimes, yes, people do get caught in bad situations where they can no longer afford their mortgage. However, REAL Americans simply dust themselves off, sell the home, and buy a lower cost one or move into an apartment. They don't beg the government for money, they don't whine about it, they just adjust and move on with their lives.

There's no reason why anyone can't do the same thing. Hillary Clinton is a dangerous person when it comes to the finances of the American taxpayer. She has already said she's like to "take the profits" from oil companies, raise taxes, and make your life much more expensive. How is she helping people with their mortgages if the actions she wants to take will make everything else in your life much more expensive.

So if you're coming up $200 short a month on your mortgage, but all of a sudden, your gas bill, tax bill, and groceries are now $250 a month more, how has she helped you out? Easy, she hasn't.

Jose Padilla's Trial Almost Over

Testimony ended today without a defense for Jose Padilla and I must admit, I don't have a clue what Jose's defense attorney's are thinking. There's a lot of evidence against Padilla, so I'm opening wondering if they are just saying "screw it" because they know their client is guilty as hell.

Perhaps they are thinking that they'll get a conviction and try to win on appeal. Either way doesn't look good for Padilla.

Is The New York City Council Bored?

I mean, if you have the free time to want to symbolically ban words, then I think you're either not doing your job properly, or you're not doing enough. Now they want to ban the word: "bitch".

Leaker Found?

The FBI has raided Thomas M. Tamm's home in an effort to find out who leaked information over the warrantless spying case to the press.

I must admit I'm a bit torn over this. First off, if he did leak classified information, he deserves to go to jail. However, if he leaked something that was illegal, isn't he protected under the Federal Whistleblower statutes?

I certainly don't trust Alberto Gonzales to be fair and follow the rules when it comes to anything anymore, so I'd feel much better if an impartial third party investigated this.

No kidding?!?! I'm just as shocked as you all are. Granted, it's not back up to where it used to be, but going from 29% to 34% is a pretty big jump. What's really startling is the New York Times article cited in the post about how things are looking cautiously optimistic in Iraq.

Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria! Double brownie points if you get the reference.

Capture of Osama, his #2 guy Al-Zawhiri, or a definitive end to the war in Iraq would bolster Bush's ratings significantly. To tell you the truth, I'd rather have Osama and his #2 guy over a definitive end to the war in Iraq. It would let the American people know that if you hit America, we will come get you. It will make them feel safer, let them know that people are on the job about protecting Americans, and let the world know we mean business.

Russia - Georgia In Act Of War Event?

Georgia, the former Soviet state, has said that Russian jets dropped a bomb while in Georgian airspace. They are claiming that the ordinance didn't explode.

One way to clear it up? Show us the ordinance. You show us Russian ordinance and you'll have an act of war that I don't think Russia can readily explain itself out of.

If true, Russia has a VERY large problem on their hands. They will be seen as the aggressor and they will be condemned by world powers. But it all rests on one fundamental question: Is it true?

Taliban - Full Of Geniuses

Wow, you'd think that they'd have a bit more brains then this, but a group of about 75 Taliban attacked a remote American base and were promptly slaughtered and sent home with an American boot print on their asses.

Let me explain something here people: Americans love guns. American military folks love guns. So when you decide you're going to attack Americans, you can bet your bottom dollar that Americans are a pretty good shot. Couple that with the fact that AK-47's aren't very accurate past 300 yards, and you have a recipe for disaster on the Taliban's part. Sure, you can spray bullets everywhere and hope you hit something, but an American soldier with an M-16 can and will hit his target from much further away as well as hit with deadly accuracy.

Idiots.

The Truth Hurts

Senator Lindsey Graham has been spotted next to a sign that said: "Obama, Osama, and Chelsea’s Moma say cut and run", and of course, people have their panties all up in a knot over it.

However, while the sign is crude, I don't see anything about the sign be FALSE. Al-Qaeda's videos have all said that they look forward to when America runs from a fight. They have all said that Democrats are looking for a way out. So while I can't say I agree with the wording, I can say that there's an air of truth to it.

Democrats Cheat At House Vote

Take a gander at this:

When the vote is called, the vote to deny illegal aliens tax payer services was 215-213. That means it passed. However, Democrats openly took votes AFTER the gavel had been thrown and the vote called. After they did that, the final vote made it so the measure failed. Democrats then "apologized for calling the vote early" but won't recant the vote and won't go on CNN to explain themselves.

What they've done is out and out illegal. However, the Republicans are doing the right thing in saying that they won't do ANY additional House business except the Minnesota bridge disaster and FISA until it is resolved.

Democrats have sunk to a new low and they should be held accountable for it. They even wanted to cut benefits from senior citizens to pay for illegals? Even after the seniors busted their asses all their lives and worked to make this country a better place, Democrats want to cut their benefits for someone who has NO RIGHT TO BE HERE! Here's a final vote tally so you can see how your Representative voted.

Interracial Relationships

CNN takes a good look at black women who are starting to take notice and date or even marry white men. I've dated black women before, and I must tell you this: There's a stereotype that they fully deserve, they are EXCELLENT lovers. Every black woman I ever dated treated me like a king. They cooked, cleaned, and were absolutely outstanding in the bedroom. If you're the type to date only within your own race, you're truly missing something wonderful.

I was dating a woman named Angelique when I was working at UPS many many years ago, and I cannot speak highly enough about her as a lover. Only idiots wouldn't date someone simply because of the color of their skin or religion. We as a planet of people are just starting to come around to the idea of interracial relationships as a more socially acceptable norm in the past few decades, but it's really too bad. There's a lot to be said for women of different cultures, races, and religions. A Ying to your Yang if you will.

Muslim Men Found With Pipe Bombs

Ahmed Bedier, the executive director of a civil rights organization for Muslims in Tampa, criticized the arrest as racial profiling, an accusation South Carolina police refuted.

"Definitely this is not related to terrorism," said Bedier, of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

They were speeding and they had pipe bombs in their car. That's a crime. That's not "racial profiling" idiot. And how can you be so sure that it's not related to terrorism? A couple of guys with pipe bombs in their car would surely make me pause and wonder if it is. Besides, I don't trust the CAIR people since they are knee deep in terrorism financing themselves. Even Ahmed is sitting on the board of Youtube and actively suppressing comments he deems offensive to Muslims. He certainly doesn't mind jumping on TV whenever it suits him, but wants to shut those who disagree with him down. Sounds like Al Sharpton to me.

It would be like if you have the Aryan Brotherhood tell you that a cross burning done by men in white sheets wasn't a "racist event". If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

Officers became suspicious because the men quickly put away a laptop computer and couldn't immediately say what they were doing in the area or where they were going, DeWitt said.

Of course putting away a laptop computer and not being able to say where you're going or why you're here is obvious racial profiling. How were these innocent young men supposed to know that carrying around several LIVE pipe bombs, speeding, and suspiciously putting away a laptop quickly was illegal? Happens all the time here people.

This Is Why You Don't Negotiate With Terrorists

They see something that works, they use it again and again. The Taliban is threatening more kidnappings of foreign people now that they have seen the reaction from South Korea. When something like this happens, you hammer down hard on them. Then they will learn.

August 6th, 1945

Today is the 62nd anniversary of the first atomic bomb explosion over Hiroshima. Here's an excellent bit on the event from a documentary:

What people don't understand is, that even with the human factor, when you see people's faces and feelings, had I been President during 9/11, I was angry enough to unleash the hell that a nuclear weapon would unfurl had the Taliban not given up Osama. I simply would have said "you have 24 hours to hand him over....or else" That's how angry I was and still am to this day over 9/11. The attack on Pearl Harbor killed less people and was mainly restricted to military targets. 9/11 was different for me and a lot of other people. Regardless of your point of view, you have to admit that you have to be pretty angry to order the killing of 90,000+ people in retaliation. Many of the citizens of Afghanistan probably don't deserve an atomic blast to end their lives, but neither did Kevin Cosgrove:

An eye for an eye leaves us all blind - Ghandi said that. But revenge would make me feel much better and would let terrorists know : "Never screw with America"

As a side note: in the atomic video, when the man on sitting on the stairs is vaporized, please note, that part was true as shown in the photo below:

Democrats And Earmarks

Didn't they campaign in 2006 about doing away with the "culture of corruption" and "doing away with earmarks"? I guess they like to be revisionist historians. How about instead of bullshitting the American public, you actually KEEP a campaign promise, just to shake things up a bit?

Nah, they still are spending money like it isn't theirs. Oh wait, it ISN'T theirs! Representative Jeff Flake said it best:

`It baffles me how people can complain bitterly about Halliburton and no-bid contracts and then lard up a bill with literally thousands of earmarks to companies when that's all they are -- no-bid contracts,'' says Representative Jeff Flake, an Arizona Republican, referring to criticism of the Bush administration's sole-source contract with the Houston-based company during the Iraq war. Flake is noted for not requesting earmarks and publicizing those of his colleagues.

Exactly right. How CAN you complain about one bit of spending, while not saying a word about your own? Here's one earmark that disturbs me:

Some companies stand to gain from Pelosi's earmarks. The California Democrat has won funding for six companies in a 2008 defense funding measure. One is a $4 million request to develop a ``novel viral biowarfare agent'' for Prosetta Corp., based in her San Francisco district. Tom Higgins, the company's chief executive officer, says he talked to the Speaker's staff directly rather than hiring a lobbyist and hasn't given money to her campaign. ``We're just a little company,'' he says.

Don't you think a "viral biowarfare agent" should be developed by the military? There are private companies developing "biowarfare agents"??? Who's to say what kind of security they have in this company? Who's to say they don't' have foreign spies in their company payroll looking into how to use this against the US?

Earmarks like this are very dangerous and Nancy Pelosi should be condemned for wanting to fund it.

Home Mortgages And Bankruptcy

American Home Mortgage Investment filed for bankruptcy today. Can't say that I feel sorry for them either. The specialized in people who fall just short of good credit scores. While that sounds like they are trying to "help" people, what they are really doing is charging higher interest rates to those people hoping to screw them out of even more money.

When you do that and do it on such a grand scale, you really deserve to go out of business. You're taking advantage of people at their weakest, buying a new home. You're in control over their dreams of having something of their own and screwing them out of as much money as possible. When something catastrophic happens, then you have no one to blame but yourselves.

Home buyers: Stop buying houses you can't afford. You're just as much to blame for this as anyone else. You shouldn't have bought that 4 bedroom house in suburbia and bought a 3 bedroom house on the outskirts of town. You should have taken into consideration job loss, medical emergencies, and new children before you bought your home. Because you didn't, now you're struggling to pay off the mortgage that you shouldn't have gotten in the first place. Lenders should have told you "no". They didn't, and now they are in this mess. You should have said "we'll look at other places" and when you didn't, now you find yourself getting second and third notices in the mail because you didn't look at other houses.

What does that mean? Prices are going to go to the floor. People like me who didn't buy the bigger home, more luxurious car, or latest trendy item, will now be able to buy your home at a pretty steep discount. When the market readjusts itself in a few years, we'll be able to sell your home for a tidy profit. I'm talking with a real estate agent and a lender this afternoon to see how the market looks in my area for a deal.

Fiscal responsibility allows you the freedom to do things that you never thought possible. Heed my warning. I don't want any of you to fail, I want you to learn from this. If you take my advice, you're almost guaranteed not to have any more mortgage troubles.

Some American's Finally Getting It

In the latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, taken Friday through Sunday, the proportion of those who said the additional troops are "making the situation better" rose to 31% from 22% a month ago. Those who said it was "not making much difference" dropped to 41% from 51%.

About the same number said it was making things worse: 24% now, 25% a month ago.

While still most (57%) of the people want immediate withdrawal from Iraq, because they are starting to see a turn around in Iraq, they are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and are starting to see that Bush's surge is working.

That's got to be a thorn in the side of Democrats. Especially if they make comments like positive results "could be a problem for us."

With combat and civilian deaths way down, Democrats are finding themselves between a rock and a hard place. Do they pander to the far left constituents who are screaming for America's defeat and look like cowards? Or do they stick it out when it looks like things are going well and alienate their voters?

Bush, Pelosi, And FISA

While I can agree that the 1978 FISA law does need a good once over, I can't believe Nancy Pelosi's take on it: Pelosi said that S. 1927, the bill passed tonight by the House to temporally amend FISA for six-months contains many provisions that are "unacceptable" and she does not believe that the American people will want to wait that long before corrective action is taken.

Nancy, if you believe that parts of the bill are "unacceptable" why did you not offer those changes up immediately? Was vacation too important to you to protect American civil liberties? Is another 6 months worth of "unacceptable" parts ok with you?

You should have spoken up louder like you do when speaking about Bush or the war in Iraq or perks you want your family to get because you're the Speaker. Because you don't, you're no different then any other sleazy politician out there. You don't care about the issues at hand, you only care about the power that it brings.

As a side note, Congress did pass the legislation that gives the NSA and other agencies the power to eavesdrop on foreign people without a warrant suspected in terrorism. However, that's the distinction. The target of the eavesdropping MUST be a foreign person. I also agree that if someone comes into this country and they are suspected of a crime, they should be followed by whatever agency that originally followed them throughout their stay in the US. It doesn't make sense for the CIA to track a guy then hand it off to the FBI simply because the person is now on US soil.

Personally, I'm a bit troubled by the Attorney General getting a say over what's right and wrong within the spying because Alberto Gonzales simply can't be trusted to protect American rights. I would feel much better if a judge was giving the go ahead on such matters.

Hero Bus Driver

A bus driver struck a passenger about the head with a phone after the rider refused to give up his seat to an elderly woman, police said.

According to police, Woods asked Custis to give up his seat when the woman using a cane boarded the bus at Hillside Avenue and 164th Street on Friday. Custis refused, police said. The driver then hit Custis about the head with the bus' onboard phone.

So where's the problem? He didn't give up his seat to an elderly woman who was using a cane? Sometimes Karma gets dished out immediately.

Oprah's Idiocy

Here's an interesting article titled: Questions to ask before you get married. Good God, you can completely tell that it was written by a woman who's mainly interested in changing her future husband to be into what she considers "the perfect man".

For example:

Question 4: What is our ultimate financial goal regarding annual income, and when do we anticipate achieving it? By what means and through what efforts?

Sweety, if YOU don't know when you plan on reaching 50k a year, 60k a year, then you really need to take a look at yourself before you marry someone. You should know yourself inside and out before you share your life with someone else.

Question 12: Is each of us happy with the other's approach to health? Does one have habits or tendencies that concern the other (e.g., smoking, excessive dieting, poor diet)?

See what I mean about changing someone?

Question 13: What place does the other's family play in our family life? How often do we visit or socialize together? If we have out-of-town relatives, will we ask them to visit us for extended periods? How often?

Question 14: If we have children, what kind of relationship do we hope our parents will have with their grandchildren? How much time will they spend together?

Yes, all three of the above questions are what women think about. However, do you honestly think that's what you should discuss before you get married? Besides, I think you ought to ask your parents that question rather then your future spouse.

Question 16: How will having a child change the way we live now? Will we want to take time off from work, or work a reduced schedule? For how long? Will we need to rethink who is responsible for housekeeping?

Why would you need to rethink who's responsible for housekeeping? A child is a huge responsibility, and there have been women and men throughout history who've managed being single parents and doing normal household stuff, so you can't tell me that would change significantly.

Here's questions I asked before I got married:

Were you born a woman? (don't laugh, it's important)

What are your plans for college (she was in college when I met her)?

Do you plan on asking me for something 10 times within 20 minutes if I don't answer you right away?

How much does your wedding ring cost? (I took her to a jewelry shop and told her she could have any ring in the place....yes I know....BIG $$$ mistake. :) )

The bottom line is, if you click with someone and want to get married, then feel free to do so (gay or hetero in my opinion), however if you put THAT much though into whether or not you want to get married to this person, then I think you should take a good hard look at yourself and wonder if you're high maintenance.

Karzai Wavering

Karzai had said in advance of his visit to Camp David that Iran is a partner in the fight against terrorism and narcotics. "So far, Iran has been a helper," he said over the weekend.

You're.....kidding......right? Iran has done nothing but ferment trouble to US interests since we've gotten there. They smell weakness because of Democrats continually calling for US troop withdrawal and they are flexing their regional muscle to dominate the area.

Of course Karzai SAYS that he'll work with Pakistan and the US to root out terrorists, but I'm not so sure he'd be willing to work with Pakistan as they've clashed before.

President Bush said Monday that with the right intelligence U.S. and Pakistan governments can take out al Qaeda leaders, and he wouldn't say whether he would consult first with Pakistan before ordering U.S. forces to act on their own.

"There is still work to be done" in Afghanistan, Bush said. "But progress is being made."

"With real actionable intelligence, we will get the job done," Bush said.

He was asked whether he would wait on permission from Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf before committing the U.S. military to move on "actionable intelligence" on the whereabouts of al Qaeda leaders in Pakistan.

He did not answer directly.

Well no shit. With the strikes inside Pakistan a while ago that targeted Al-Qaeda's #2 guy that threatened to escalate into a full blown "international incident" I don't expect the President to ask permission to hit a known terrorist. But it really does tell you something about Pakistani citizens when they protest our striking a known Al-Qaeda leader.

Traitor Threatens US

"These spy dens and military command and control centers -- from which you plotted your aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq and which still provide vital moral, military, material and logistical support to the crusade -- shall continue to be legitimate targets for brave Muslims ... until and unless you heed our demands: Stop the crusade and leave the Muslims alone," he said.

Sorry junior, but you guys started it on 9/11, and we're not stopping until you're all captured or dead. You can call it a "crusade" because it's the bullshit lie that you tell young impressionable Muslim kids, but the truth is, we wouldn't even BE in Afghanistan or Iraq if it weren't for YOUR threats against my home. Until YOU are captured or killed, we're not going anywhere.

Cheater's Never Win

While there's no definitive statement about Barry Bonds' steroid use, he did hit a home run to tie Hank Aaron's record. I think this picture says it all

Hillary Clinton - More Of The Same

Isn't this coming from the same Democratic Party that keeps holding Republican's feet to the fire over "special interest groups"? If so, what's up with this:

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton refused Saturday to forsake campaign donations from lobbyists, turning aside challenges from her two main rivals with a rare defense of the special interest industry.

“A lot of those lobbyists, whether you like it or not, represent real Americans, they actually do,” Clinton said, drawing boos and hisses from liberal bloggers at the second Yearly Kos convention.

I'm telling you all that Hillary is a ruthless politician who won't get you anything you're hoping for by voting Democrat. Just take a look at the newly empowered Democratic Congress. How much have they accomplished?

Take a gander at this quote:

Clinton was asked what three lessons she learned from her failed health care reform effort during the presidency of her husband, Bill Clinton. “It is not enough to have a plan. You’ve got to have a political strategy,” the New York senator said.

Isn't political strategy and a plan the same thing?? She's already doing politician double speak.

So would she continue to accept those donations?

“Yes, I will,” she said, arguing that plenty of lobbyists represent good causes. “They represent nurses, they represent social workers, they represent, yes, they represent corporations that employ a lot of people.”

Which of course, her political opponents pounced on.

Obama rejected that argument, saying Clinton should know better because special interest money helped sink her health care package in 1993. The crowd cheered wildly.

It certainly appears that Hillary can be vulnerable when she's honest, although it's difficult to tell when she is and isn't.
