Hollywood and Hypocrisy
Everyone knows that Hollywood is a liberal town. However, what people don't know is the disdain that Hollywood has for conservatives across the board.
For example, notice that celebrities such as Rosie O'Donnell, Alec Baldwin, and others proudly say how they are Democrats and liberals to the core.
Yet, you don't hear about Adam Sandler, Kelsey Grammar, and others who proclaim themselves to be Republicans or conservatives.
Why?
"They learn very quickly, if they know what's good for them, to donate to the Democratic Party," said Andrew Breitbart, co-author of "Hollywood, Interrupted." "If they were to donate to the Republican Party, they would be exposed to career-ending ridicule, period."
Now, let's flip that around for a minute.
Say someone in Hollywood is a liberal...I know it's a stretch, but let's pretend. If someone retaliated against them for being liberal, such as not giving them a role in a film, they'd scream about "freedom of speech" and other such nonsense.
But the same people don't stand up for the rights of conservatives in Hollywood.
Hypocritical? You bet. The only ones you hear about are rare ones who are already big celebrities such as Bruce Willis. Had Bruce proclaimed his conservatism when he was still on Moonlighting, do you think we'd be watching him put out Die Hard 4? I sincerely doubt it.
So how are all these "smarter and enlightened" people really better then everyone else if they themselves are trying to stifle someone's ability to earn a living simply because they have a differing political opinion?
That's hypocrisy and the "fascism" that they so enjoy to spew out about the Bush administration.
So when they look in the dressing room mirror, do you think there's a brain in their head for them to realize they are doing the same thing that they would criticize others for doing?
Nah, they're probably too worried about important things like if they are going to get on the cover of Vanity Fair.
It reminds me of Mr. Garrison's response to Rosie O'Donnell in an episode of South Park:
"People like you preach tolerance and open-mindedness all the time, but when it comes to middle America, you think we're all evil and stupid country yokels who need your political enlightenment. Just because you're on TV doesn't mean you know shit about the government."

Oddly, Hypocrisy Rooted in High Morals
That's usually how the case goes with a lot of "moral" people out there. They seem to have a "do as I say, not as I do" type of attitude. For example, when Barbara Streisand suggested that everyone start using their clotheslines instead of the dryer, people took notice, but alas, Babs didn't take her own advice.
I share my opinions on a lot of issues, and I am honest about them to my readers. It helps build up trust and respect between us. I don't preach about a lot of things simply because I don't want to look like a hypocrite. I don't preach about porn, strippers, drinking alcohol, or gambling because I enjoy all of those things in moderation. The alcohol part though is a rare thing for me though, usually only a few times per year.
However, if I preached about the "moral decay" with regards to these things, I'd be a hypocrite. I try to maintain an open and honest relationship with my readers and I think that resonates through my posts.
I spend a good chunk of the time telling people about my "moral compass", but I try not to be too preachy about it. People like a leader or an outspoken person, not a preachy, know it all, and I try to not to cross that line. I fail at that sometimes, but no one's perfect. :)
That's why I'll admit my vices. I want my readers to know I'm not some "holier then thou" type who says one thing and does another. Would you come to my site if I spoke of the "sins" of pornography, yet there was a photo of me floating around the internet coming out of a porn shop? Well you might come back once or twice to yell at me and send me hate mail (more then usual), but you'd have a distinct lack of trust as to what I'm saying and showing you here.
So tell me, what are some of your vices?

Sheriff Forces Inmates to Pay Rent
Right idea, wrong way to go about it.
There's nothing wrong with making inmates pay to stay in jail. It helps keep the financial burden off of the general, law abiding public, gives additional funding to areas that need it, and discourages inmates from coming back. In fact, all jails should charge inmate X amount of dollars per day to help offset the costs of running the jail.
However, this sheriff did it illegally. Therein lies the difference.

U.S. Control of Internet Remains Issue
You know, I fail to see why the United States should even bother to relinquish control over crucial Internet related functions.
First off, we invented the internet, so there's no reason why we should give up control. The only reason why people want control over the internet, is because they have come to rely in it's massive potential as a communications and commerce tool.
Plus, look who's asking for "international governance", the Russians:
As the conference drew to a close, Russian representative Konstantin Novoderejhkin called on the United Nations secretary-general to create a working group to develop ''practical steps'' for moving Internet governance ''under the control of the international community.''
The Russians want control or at least a partial say over the core of the internet because they are doing everything they can to take things from us such as military technology, financial success, and now, control over the internet.
Let's look at another reason why we shouldn't give up control: It works.
Russia is already trying to copy China's "great firewall" to censor out speech that it deems harmful, so with the track record of the US when it comes to freedom of speech, you think we're about to give up that?
Plus, it's not about controlling it themselves, but taking it away from us.
Besides, there's nothing stopping any of these countries from building their own internet with all of the infrastructure and redundancy built in like we've done. But it's not about that. None of these countries want to actually put forth the effort to build something like that, they just want control over something that's as powerful as the internet, that the United States built.
So fuck em.

Iran wants Western apology after IAEA report
Oh sure, we'll gladly apologize once you decide to tell us how you managed to get black market nuclear documents that have only one purpose: making nuclear weapons.
We'll apologize once you open up completely about your nuclear program, instead of halfass-ing it to appease your Russian and Chinese masters.
We'll apologize when you come up with a reasonable response as to why you've had sites of nuclear activity, to only raze them once they've been found out.
"America must apologize to the great Iranian nation for lying to the world's public opinion," Khatami said.
Let's talk about lying for a moment, shall we? How do you suppose nuclear weapons documents got to you? You obviously paid for them, so you can't tell us that you got them "accidentally".
Why is the IAEA telling everyone that you're only being "partially" cooperative?
Save your bullshit for the state run media, we're not buying it here.

Wounded warriors face home-front battle with VA - CNN.com
This is completely unacceptable. This man served his country and the best thing we can do for him is to make sure that he's taken care of.
If the VA is sincere in taking care of veteran's, cases like this simply wouldn't fall through the cracks.
Instead, he got a check for far less than expected. After pressing for answers, Ziegel finally received a letter from the VA that rated his injuries: 80 percent for facial disfigurement, 60 percent for left arm amputation, a mere 10 percent for head trauma and nothing for his left lobe brain injury, right eye blindness and jaw fracture.
Take a good, hard look at this man. Take a look at his injuries and tell me he doesn't deserve 100% disability.
I'm more pissed that it takes public shaming to get the VA to do something about it:
Within 48 hours of telling his story to CNN this summer, the Office of then-VA Secretary Jim Nicholson acted on Ziegel's case. The VA changed his head trauma injury, once rated at 10 percent, to traumatic brain injury rated at 100 percent, substantially increasing his monthly disability check.
Ok, so this guy is fighting with the VA for 2 years and then after some public humility, they take care of the issue within 48 FUCKING HOURS??!
Tyler Ziegel, Tammy Duckworth, Garrett Anderson, and all other soldiers going through this, I humbly apologize for the VA's behavior and thank you for your service. What they are doing to you is simply unacceptable.
If you agree with me, feel free to let your opinion known by writing to the VA at the address below:

Former 'Yuppies' struggle for cash
I like to call stories like this "obvious journalism". Here's a perfect reason why:
Nearly half of people who were dubbed Yuppies in the 1980s say they now struggling financially, according to a report.
So-called Yuppies or Young Urban Professionals epitomized 1980s success, and were infamous for their high spending, Filofaxes, having the latest gadgets and splashing out on expensive dining.
Wait, you mean to tell me that people who blew their cash on a million different frivolous things are now finding it difficult to have the same lifestyle? Color me surprised! But wait, it gets better:
But 20 years on, 45% of former Yuppies claim they are struggling financially or failing to live within their means, according to Liverpool Victoria friendly society.
And yet, here we are today and people still aren't smart enough to live below their means. It's 2007 people, it's not brain surgery. If you live in a house you can't afford, move. If you are up to your eyeballs in debt, get a better job, or come up with a budget.
These people are in their 40's and 50's. If they can't get it together by now, these people are already lost. I simply cannot feel sorry for people who lived it up in the 80's and then found out that maybe they should have saved for their retirement. I'm in my 30's and I've already got a retirement plan. And to me, it's not good enough. My goal is to have around $3 million in today's terms, 30 years from now. At 4% interest, that's $120,000 a year to live off of. That's something that's EASILY done.
If you are buying the latest iPhone, fancy cars, and a big house and later on down the road you're struggling, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Hillary's Questionable Donors
Three recipients of controversial 11th-hour pardons issued by former President Bill Clinton in January 2001 have donated thousands of dollars to the presidential campaign of his wife, Democratic front-runner Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., according to campaign finance records examined by ABC News, in what some good government groups said created an appearance of impropriety.
"It's not illegal," Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, told ABC News. "But, of course, it's inappropriate and she should return the money. It does raise the appearance that this is payback.
Sure, it might not be illegal, but let's face it, it certainly appears like it's payback. And what's with the Clinton's and government workers who "mishandle" government secrets?
John Deutch is a different case, having served as President Clinton's CIA director.
Pardoned by President Clinton for charges he had mishandled government secrets.
Him and Sandy Berger both were "mishandling" government secrets, yet neither served any real jail time for it.
It'll also be difficult for Hillary to pay for Universal Health Care when her husband loved to pardon tax cheats like Marc Rich. Two peas in a pod is my guess.
So tell me, why isn't this story on the front page of every newspaper in the country? Hillary has had more shady campaign finance problems then any other candidate combined, yet she seems to get a pass.
If Republican candidates were smart, they would be bringing this up in upcoming debates.

Clinton Looks to Rebound
And this is why Hillary shouldn't be President:
But her husband, former President Bill Clinton, called Russert’s questioning “breathtakingly misleading.” A Hillary Clinton supporter suggested on a conference call with senior campaign officials that Russert “should be shot.”
On Tuesday, a top aide to Hillary Clinton indirectly warned moderator Wolf Blitzer not to be too hard on her in Thursday’s debate. The warning was issued via the Drudge Report, an influential Web site that has received numerous leaks from the Clinton campaign on such topics as her fundraising prowess.
“This campaign is about issues, not on who we can bring down and destroy,” a senior Clinton aide told cyberjournalist Matt Drudge. “Blitzer should not go down to the levels of character attack and pull ‘a Russert.’ ”
Blitzer, who said he had not been directly contacted by the Clinton campaign, called the New York Democrat “a sophisticated, strong politician.” But he also issued his own veiled warning.
“If she can’t handle the heat during a Democratic contest, wait until the Republicans really start going after her,” he told TV Newser. “If she’s the nominee.”
Rather than just say "I stumbled, let's move on", her and Bill Clinton are playing the blame game. It's everyone's fault but hers. They warn Wolf Blitzer about questioning her "too hard".
That's what it's all about being President. You take the good with the bad, and you roll with the punches, or you simply won't be a good President.
We've all heard Hillary bash Bush across the board and bring up personal attacks, so why is it ok for her to do it, but not to get some lashes in return?
She certainly can't play the "don't pick on me, I'm a girl" on the international stage. They'll eat her alive.
So if you can't take it, but you like to dish it out, you're a hypocrite and aren't fit to be President. It's best to bow out now Hillary so real candidates can step up to the plate.

Whether or not this is enough to get him elected is debatable, but it's a smart move on his part.

Lowe's Apologizes for 'Family Trees' in Christmas Catalog
At what point do you say "I'm going to celebrate holidays the way I want and call them what I want" without pandering to the whole political correctness?
Lowe's apparently cannot understand that by selling Christmas trees, they can indeed call them Christmas trees. For them to call them "family trees" is pathetic at best.
With all the political correctness, everyone's getting their panty wasted feelings hurt left and right, but no one seems to care about the feelings of plain old people who have been calling it Christmas trees for the past 200+ years.
Personally, I could give a rats ass about people who get offended that their holiday isn't included in store decorations or catalogs. If you don't like it, don't shop there. Shop where a store does include your holiday, but don't expect others to bow down to appease your sissy feelings.

Report: China spies threaten U.S. technology - CNN.com
Chinese spying in America represents the greatest threat to U.S. technology, according to a congressional advisory panel report Thursday that recommended lawmakers consider financing counterintelligence efforts meant to stop China from stealing U.S. manufacturing expertise.
The simple fact about the Chinese is that they don't want to do the research and development necessary to bring their country up to speed, when they can simply steal the ideas from us.
It's them trying to take full advantage of their economy and sustain it without putting in the time and effort behind those ideas to maintain them.
It's a recipe for disaster for them.
Of course, they are denying the entire thing, but they also denied trying to hack into Pentagon computers and we all know how full of shit they are on that front.
The easiest way to combat these spying activities? Start randomly executing people who are spying for the Chinese. Make it look like a robbery gone bad, or a car accident, but if the Chinese start seeing their guy's dropping like flies, they'll think twice before sending in spies.
If it's hacking attempts, there's no reason why we can't send a few people over to China to take care of them directly there as well.

My Way News - Clinton Says No to Licenses for Illegals
Huh, it's funny how Hillary said that this plan "made a lot of sense" when she thought it might be popular, but then all of a sudden when there was a massive backlash, she is now saying "no" to it.
"I support Governor Spitzer's decision today to withdraw his proposal," Clinton said in a statement. "As president, I will not support driver's licenses for undocumented people and will press for comprehensive immigration reform that deals with all of the issues around illegal immigration including border security and fixing our broken system."
Even Barack Obama is showing everyone what a sneaky, underhanded, weasel she can be:
"When it takes two weeks and six different positions to answer one question on immigration, it's easier to understand why the Clinton campaign would rather plant their questions than answer them," said Barack Obama spokesman Bill Burton, referring to the Clinton campaign's admission that aides had staged a question for her at an Iowa event.
And she still has the majority of the vote for the Democratic nomination. Do you see why they deserve the ridicule that I put upon them?

My New Best Friend
This is exactly the kind of attitude I love to see from people when faced with Islamic "activists" and other idiotic people.
ABC News: Ex-FBI, CIA Agent Took Classified Info
crime in my eyes. But we've got some soft prosecutors around here:
The plea agreement recommends that Prouty face a prison sentence between six and 12 months, and pay a maximum fine of $250,000. The documents also indicate Prouty will be on supervised release for two to three years after serving her sentence.
6-12 months for taking classified documents? How about life imprisonment? How about 20 years? What the hell is going on in the FBI and CIA that taking classified information deserves such a slap on the wrist for?
This is the same thing when Sandy Berger took classified 9/11 documents and got a meager slap on the wrist as well.
Taking classified documents needs to have the punishment raised up to the seriousness that it really is.
She passed it onto Hezbollah, a known terrorist group. Had she done the same for Al-Qaeda, people would be asking for her head.
What I'd also like to know is what are the techniques being used to keep this information from being taken in the first place? I know my network policies that I have in place make it impossible for anyone to take copies of information outside of the company without my knowledge. I fail to see why they didn't have something like this in the first place as well.

FBI Faults Blackwater in Civilian Deaths
Things aren't looking good for Blackwater personnel who are now found that the shootings of 17 Iraqi's were unjustified.
Blackwater Worldwide supports "stringent accountability" for any wrongdoing.
Well what does something like that mean? Are they going to try these people for murder in Iraq? In the US? What is a likely punishment for these people who killed 17 Iraqi civilians?
No evidence supports assertions by Blackwater employees that they were fired upon by Iraqi civilians, but the FBI has concluded that three of the deaths may have been justified under rules that allow lethal force in response to an imminent threat, the paper reported.
So if three deaths were justified, why did 14 other people have to die with them? It's easy to throw these people under the bus, but it's also entirely possible that these people were all a part of a group and part of that group opened fire and they all paid with that with their lives.
As more information becomes available, I'll be sure to share it.

Soldier who took overdose on eve of Iraq trip 'feared having to shoot children'
A pretty inflammatory headline wouldn't you agree? I mean shooting children is a pretty serious accusation. However, they left off a key bit of the facts.
A young soldier was so traumatized by the prospect of his first Iraqi posting, he took an overdose which killed him.
Private Jason Chelsea couldn't come to terms with the thought that he might have to "shoot children" carrying suicide bombs.
He was so afraid, on the eve of the tour of duty with the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment he took a lethal quantity of paracetamol and iron tablets.
So you don't want to shoot children carrying suicide bombs? How about you shoot them in the leg or arm? Something that will stop them but not kill them? Sure, everyone can agree that killing children is something that monsters do, but there are less then lethal ways to take care of a situation like that if indeed it comes up.
A sad waste of a life simply because of a paranoid thought that something like that might happen, even if it's extremely unlikely to ever happen.

Sensitive Guantanamo Bay Manual Leaked
The Camp Delta document includes schematics of the camp, detailed checklists of what "comfort items" such as extra toilet paper can be given to detainees as rewards, six pages of instructions on how to process new detainees, instructions on how to psychologically manipulate prisoners, and rules for dealing with hunger strikes.
"What strikes me is the level of detail for handling all kind of situations, from admission to barbers and burials," says Jamil Dakwar, advocacy director of the ACLU's Human Rights program. Dakwar was in Guantanamo last week for a military-commission hearing.
And just in case the document gets pulled from the site, here's a direct link to it being hosted on my servers.
I've read over the document and I haven't found much in terms of "torture" or any other interrogation techniques, so if you're looking for that, save your time. However, it does read like a stereotypical prison manual, for which I have seen similar manuals before.
All in all an excellent read about what goes on inside of Guantanamo Bay, but it is quite lengthy.

Iran hands IAEA nuclear blueprints - Yahoo! News
Iran has met a key demand of the U.N. nuclear agency by delivering blueprints that show how to mold uranium metal into the shape of warheads, diplomats said Tuesday, in an apparent concession meant to stave off the threat of new U.N. sanctions.
The confidential report, expected to be distributed to agency members this Wednesday or Thursday, is likely to show substantial but not full compliance by Iran with its pledges to come clean on past activities — and confirm at the same time that Tehran continues to enrich uranium in defiance of the U.N. Security Council.
While agency inspectors had been allowed to examine them in the country, Tehran had up to now refused to let the IAEA have a copy for closer perusal.
Both the IAEA and other experts have categorized the instructions outlined in the blueprints as having no value outside of a nuclear weapons program.
Senior IAEA officials were refused interviews with at least two top Iranian nuclear officials suspected of possible involvement in a weapons program, they said. One was the leader of a physics laboratory at Lavizan, outside Tehran, which was razed before the agency had a chance to investigate activities there. The other was in charge of developing Iran's centrifuges, used to enrich uranium.
There really isn't much more evidence that you need to know that Iran is indeed trying to develop a nuclear weapon, something they do not have a right to because of the non-proliferation treaty that they signed.
Anyone care to rebut?

AFP: China FM in Iran for nuclear talks
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held talks on Tuesday with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Iran's controversial nuclear drive, insisting he wanted to cooperate with Europe and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Ahmadinejad told Yang that Iran wishes "to pursue dialogue and cooperation with the IAEA and the Europeans," his office said in a statement carried by the state news agency IRNA.
The Iranian president also spoke "of the resistance of the Iranian people and the fact that friends of the Islamic republic are with it" in this resistance, the statement said.
The visit by Yang, who also met with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, came as Beijing urged Iran to be flexible but remained wary of Western pressure for
sanctions.
Make no mistake, China isn't doing this to be the "good guy" in all this. They are doing this to try to keep the price of oil low so their economy doesn't suffer. They are more then willing to put up with a nuclear armed Iran simply because they aren't in their crosshairs. If Iran was threatening China, you can bet your ass that China would be asking us for help in a big way.
But they only care about their image and economy. That's where they are running into problems right now. With the lead in almost all their exports, their reputation for cheaply made goods, and cutting corners, China is facing a major, major problem.
The falling dollar isn't going to help matters. Sooner or later, the dollar will fall to levels that are equal to China's currency. When that happens, Chinese made goods will be more expensive to make there then in the US. That means that US manufacturers will be able to make more money and manufacturing jobs will come back to the US.
That also means that most outsourcing will start to come home again.
With the recent spyware found on Chinese made hard drives, we simply cannot trust the Chinese anymore. Therefore, it's time that our goods came home to be made at home. Personally, I'd rather pay a few extra dollars to know that the Chinese hadn't fucked up somehow and endangered the lives of children or anyone else for the goods and services I pay for.

In book, FBI agent says Saddam Hussein cried at last meeting
If this article is true, it brings about a new twist for the war in Iraq.
After confessing to slaughtering 180,000 Kurds and plotting to build a doomsday nuke, Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was so upset when his FBI interrogator left for home that he cried like a baby.
Until 9/11, Saddam thought UN sanctions would go away and he could make a nuclear bomb. His prewar weapons of mass destruction deceptions were a ruse to convince Iran - whom he feared - that he had an arsenal.
In other words, he had the intentions to build a nuclear weapon.
He admired Americans, particularly ex-Presidents Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan
Reagan supported him and Clinton didn't do jack shit when it came to Saddam firing on our airplanes patrolling the no fly zone in Northern and Southern Iraq.
- but loathed the two Bushes he fought wars with.
Because they didn't put up with his bullshit and took him on for the bully he was.
So here we have an admission of intention to build a nuclear weapon. Whether he had WMD's before the invasion is debatable, he's being portrayed as them being deceptions, he did have the desire for them.
If he didn't have those weapons, then the ruse backfired on him in a big way. He was captured and it the WMD's ruse was a main factor in our invasion of Iraq.
The "Butcher of Baghdad" also confessed he ordered Kurdish civilians gassed and slaughtered thousands more, their remains left in mass graves.
Everyone conveniently forgets this fact. We're finding mass graves all over Iraq, and everyone wants to talk about it's the "big bad United States who attacked a peaceful country", yet, almost 200,000 people were killed by Saddam. I suppose we were just supposed to turn the other way and let that slide eh?
Liberals never want to get their hands dirty when it comes to dealing with a monster, they just want to second guess things. Personally, I would LOVE to see a liberal stand up to a bully on the international stage and actually follow through with it instead of undermining the military and second guessing field commanders.
But I suppose that's like asking Santa Clause for a new bike for Christmas. It's a fairy tale that has no basis in fact.

New technique creates cheap, abundant hydrogen: report - Yahoo! News
American ingenuity at it's finest. What's better about it is that it's "energy positive", meaning that they get more out of it then they put into it.
In laboratory experiments, their reactor generated hydrogen gas at nearly 99 percent of the theoretical maximum yield using aetic acid, a common dead-end product of glucose fermentation.
"This process produces 288 percent more energy in hydrogen than the electrical energy that is added in the process," said Bruce Logan, a professor of environmental engineering at Penn State.
That means that cheap, abundant hydrogen fuel may very well be on it's way to a car near you soon. Personally, I like electric cars better as electric motors provide torque immediately, instead of higher in the power band. Plus, I can create electrical energy from solar panels on the roof of my house and tell OPEC to go fuck themselves at the same time.
I've simply have had it with dealing with nations that treat us like shit, openly tell us they aren't going to try to ease prices, and have us have nothing to do about it. You think Saudi Arabian princes can afford private jets when the demand for their oil plummets? You think they'll be able to afford to fund terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah?
Cut off the funding to them and you'll watch a ton of fun little things happen in the Middle East. Get rid of the demand and you'll see them start begging for help in various ways. And we can tell them to go fuck off when they do. We just have to get off our asses and make a car that doesn't deal with oil from foreign sources.

Gays should be hanged, says Iranian minister - Times Online
So I guess Ahmadinejad was right, they DON'T have gay people in Iran. They're killing them all.
So tell me, do you think people like this STILL aren't a threat? They advocate killing of people for who they are (gays in this case), so is it unreasonable for them to want to kill other groups of people, say, Americans, or non-Muslims?
Homosexuals deserve to be executed or tortured and possibly both, an Iranian leader told British MPs during a private meeting at a peace conference, The Times has learnt.
And he said this at a PEACE conference no less.
I'm just waiting for the liberals to come out of the woodwork to say that this guy was misquoted like Ahmadinejad was supposedly done to as well with his "wiped off the map" comments.
Nicole Pichet, a researcher who also took notes of the gathering, told The Times that the discussion began with British MPs discussing the underage gay hangings. Mr Yahyavi responded by saying homosexuality was to blame for a lot of diseases such as Aids.
And if any other politician on earth said such a thing, you'd all be outraged and people would want their resignation immediately. But because this is Iran, they seem to get a pass. How is that fair? These "people" should be condemned by the international community for such remarks.

Whether you're black, white, green, or Jewish, you can make it here. For example, I have a friend, who happens to be black, who studied hard, took responsible risks, and now makes a ton of money, more then I do. He lives in a $500,000 4 bedroom home with his wife and two children.
How did he do it? He studied, went to college, paid attention, and started his own business. He's a bright guy with a lot of talent, who didn't let anyone get in his way when it came to financial prosperity.
You can do it too and if someone tells you that you can't, tell them to fuck off on your way to the top.
"Too many Americans, whites and even some blacks, think that the playing field has indeed leveled," said Marc Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League.
It has not, he added.
Bullshit.
Morial blamed the disparities on inadequate schools in black neighborhoods, workplace discrimination and too many black families with only one parent.
My friend grew up poor just like I did, but instead of screwing around, he worked hard at school. He had the same opportunities that I did and went to the same lower-middle class schools I did.
It's idiots like Morial who wants to make people feel sorry for themselves when instead they need a kick in the ass and shown how to make their lives better.
Anyone can do it, and it simply doesn't matter what your skin color is.

Student describes how she became a Clinton plant - CNN.com
Oh how I love these things. We have witnesses and an admission of Hillary Clinton's campaign trying to plant questions for her to answer.
It truly seems pathetic to me. Just a side note politicians, just be yourself, answer honestly, and if you don't know, say "I don't know".
Do that and people will respect you a lot more then when they find out you're a phony who's only trying to hit softball questions.
But alas, Hillary doesn't and here's the CNN story on it:

US military reversing Iraq troop surge - Yahoo! News
It begins. Now is the time where all the hard work and new tactics should theoretically start paying off. The first downturn in troop numbers has begun with more on the way.
What does that mean? That means that if our new tactics and training worked, Iraq should start being able to stand on it's own two feet. They should be able to start policing themselves and the violence levels should stay low.
Now, I'm not suggesting that car bombs won't happen again, I'm sure that they will, but this is the moment that everyone has said "wait" for. Now we should see results, right or wrong.
I really can't wait to see the results of where our troops have handed over control to see where they are in say 6 months.

US right to bear arms may get its day in court
For the first time in 70 years, the US Supreme Court may decide next week whether to examine the question of the right to bear arms, something which is fiercely upheld by millions of Americans.
The US capital of Washington, which is trying to stem a wave of violence in its seedier neighborhoods, has lodged a case with the nine Supreme Court judges seeking to maintain its three-decade ban on individuals carrying handguns.
But since 1976, it has banned residents from carrying handguns, although they are allowed to keep a rifle or hunting gun in their homes, providing it is locked and not loaded.
I guess in Washington DC they have a problem reading the Second Amendment. Here, I'll help them out:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
I'll even be nice and break it down for them:
"A well regulated militia" is an example of how people have the right to own firearms. It's not the only example, but it's a good one.
"being necessary to the security of a free state", means that for law and order to be accomplished, the public being armed is one of those crucial things that helps keep chaos from happening.
"the right of the people to keep and bear arms" I know it's difficult to think people have a problem with this sentence, but the words are as clear as day. The right of the PEOPLE, meaning the general public, AKA American citizens.
"Shall not be infringed". That means that Congress, the President, or any city or state may not pass a law that disallows the rights of a person to own a gun.
It doesn't say anything about a handgun or rifle, so Washington DC is completely in the wrong here.
"Faced with the evidence that handguns pose a particularly serious threat to public safety, the council chose to ban handguns because it concluded that less restrictive regulations would be ineffective," the city said in its petition to the court.
So since alcohol and cars are related to almost 40,000 deaths a year, WAY more then handgun deaths, then perhaps we should outlaw Jack Daniels and Honda Accords? People would laugh in your face if you suggested that, but yet here we are dealing with people dumb enough to think that a ban on a person's Constitutional rights is an ok thing to do.
"Whatever right the second amendment guarantees, it does not require the district to stand by while its citizens die."
And how many of those citizens would be alive today if they had the option to arm themselves with a handgun to protect themselves and others?
It's simply a knee jerk reaction that has perpetuated for the past 30 years and unfairly targeted the citizens of Washington DC.
We'll see what the Supreme Court has to say about this shortly.

Turkey charges soldiers for Iraq incursion - UPI.com
I think this is really the only thing they can do to save face. Having your soldiers go into another country is a massive international incident and can cause unnecessary political repercussions. Unfortunately, Turkey is now dealing with this problem.
What's worse is that these soldiers were kidnapped and then released, and now they are getting punished from their home country. Not a good time to be these guys. :)

Armitage says he was 'foolish' to leak CIA agent's name - CNN.com
Foolish? How about almost treasonous?
"There was no ill intent on my part, and I had never seen, ever in 43 years of having a security clearance, a covert operative's name in a memo," he said.
Armitage if he "simply assumed that she was not a clandestine officer of the CIA."
"Well, even Mr. Novak has said that he used the word 'operative' and misused it," Armitage said. "No one ever said 'operative.' And I not only assumed it, as I say, I have never seen a covert agent's name in a memo. However, that doesn't take away from what Mrs. Plame said. It was foolish, yes."
Let's assume for a moment he's telling the truth. Why is he talking to a reporter about CIA things? Even if the CIA admits something, just out of personal paranoia, I don't think I would be talking with reporters about CIA activities. It's too easy to get things mixed up and for things like this to happen.
Let's say for a moment he's lying and he leaked her name on purpose. That's a felony that deserves to be punished severely, regardless of political affiliation.
However, if you read through liberal websites and such, they blame Scooter Libby and say that he was the one who leaked the name. But they can't really be faulted with historical revisionism, they are experts at that kind of thing.
