Indonesia rocked by another quake - CNN.com
I want to point out the recent back to back to back earthquakes in Indonesia.
When something bad happens in America like Hurricane Katrina, many Muslims around the world get on TV and the internet and say "This is Allah's will! He is punishing the great Satan!" And yet we sit back and take it.
However, with 4 earthquakes hitting Indonesia now, all of them pretty severe, you don't hear Americans saying "Indonesia, as the most populated Muslim country in the world deserved this! This is for all the terror attacks and blasphemy that they've caused!"
Do you know why? Because deep down, American's love to help people. I'm willing to bet that there's relief planes heading to Indonesia from us as we speak. Yet, what do we get for our troubles? We get protests about us. They tell us how evil we are and how much they're suffering.
They have no problems asking for aid from us, but once we stop giving them aid, they turn on us like a rabid animal. This is the same thing that I spoke about yesterday about Pakistan.
So if we can't seem to get along, why are we helping these people? Why not let their government and citizens see what it's like when American relief planes don't come to help? You can bet that after even one natural disaster that they'd be singing a different tune.
We even got the same response when Iran had their earthquake that killed 90,000 people. We offered help, we GAVE help, and we now have an Iranian government who wants to support people who shoot at our soldiers.

Dobbs: Mexican president's blatant hypocrisy - CNN.com
Well of course the Mexican President is going to show hypocrisy when it comes to illegal immigration. With our porous borders, our lax immigration laws, and Mexico's inability to meet it's own citizens needs in Mexico, sure, they love to try to sponge off the US as much as possible.
Mexico looks at the US as a mere pressure valve. We're here to take in all their citizens who don't want to live in Mexico. We're here to feed, clothe, and pay for medical care for their citizens. But try that same kind of crap in Mexico and you know what? You have ZERO rights in Mexico. Why? Because they aren't foolish enough to try to help everyone like we are.
Why do you think that Mexico protested the proposed 700 mile long border fence? If they didn't think of us as something to be sponged off of, why would they care?
Even by Mexico's standards, Calderon's blatant hypocrisy is breathtaking. Calderon told the Washington Post more than a year ago that he believes laws are not a relative concept, nor subject to a personal concept of justice. Calderon declared a big difference between himself and his rival for the Mexican presidency, Manuel Lopez Obrador, was this: "I believe in the rule of law." Obviously he does not believe in the rule of U.S. law on U.S. soil.
If you really want to solve the immigration problem, you need to build fences, go after employers with hefty fines, and actually enforce immigration laws. If a person is convicted of a crime, they need to be deported, not released back into society. If they are, you are helping them commit a crime.
No one is saying "no immigrants", we're saying "no illegal immigrants". There's a difference.

Earl Ofari Hutchinson: Fonda Should Apologize for Gutter Name Call of Hillary - The Huffington Post
Oh Huffington, is there no level of hypocrisy that you won't stoop to? Now the very LAST person on Earth I would defend would be Jane Fonda...ok maybe Osama Bin Laden last, but right before him would be Jane Fonda. So when she spouts off about Hillary Clinton, calling her a "ventriloquist for the patriarchy with a skirt and a vagina.", I laugh and think nothing of it.
Why? Because Jane Fonda enjoys that right as an American citizen. One that was given to her even though she spits in the face of soldiers of those who've given that right to her. As vile as she is, she still has that right.
But Huffington Post writer Earl Hutchison thinks she should apologize. Why? The point of an apology is because you've said or done something that you don't mean and you generally feel that you didn't mean what you said or did.
THAT'S the point of an apology, not to appease someone who got offended, not to smooth things over with people around you, but for your own personal reasons.
Hell, even the first poster of the article noticed the hypocrisy:
"So it's OK to do it to republicans, but Hillary is off limits?"
No it's not ok when you do it to Republicans but not Democrats. But folks at Huffington don't see it that way. They have absolutely no problem calling Republicans some of the worst names in the book, yet when Hillary has gotten off fairly light with a comment of "ventriloquist for the patriarchy with a skirt and a vagina." there are calls for apologies?
Man up Earl, there's larger problems to be fixed than hurt feelings. If you have an issue, go grab a tissue.

Power Line: MSNBC, CNBC Refuse to Run Pro-War Ads
You mean to tell me MSNBC and CNBC are biased? Say it isn't so! But Keith Olbermann, don't complain about Freedom of Speech when your own network refuses to air ads that disagree with their own points of view. I know Keith isn't in control of such things, but he never points out the hypocrisy of those within his political party, and he certainly won't do the same about his boss.

Sorry for Jesus-cigarette photo? - Asia-Pacific - MSNBC.com
So a Malaysian newspaper has published an image of Jesus Christ holding a cigarette.
I wonder when the Christian's will rise up and threaten to riot, behead the newspaper reporters, and cause worldwide uproar. Oh wait, that's not going to happen. Why? Because generally speaking, Christians aren't whackos who think that every little dig at their religion needs to be met with protests in the streets and threats of violence.
I wonder what religion has extremists who would do such a thing....hmm..

Field Poll shows Californians lean toward dividing electoral votes
Let's take a look at the hypocritical nature of the Democratic Party shall we? In 2000 and 2004, when Democrats lost the Presidential elections, many people, including prominent Democrats, got pissed and whined about how Al Gore REALLY won the election because he won the popular vote. When told "that's not how it works", they all cried that we should change it.
Well we've all been on the same system for pretty much as long as America has been around. So you'd like to think that if Republicans supported a change to reflect a more of a "popular vote" method, that Democrats would be all for it.
"It shows that without much (campaigning) ... there's a gut-level notion that this is the fair way of doing things," said Kevin Eckery, a spokesman for Californians for Equal Representation, a committee recently set up to push the measure.
However, the state's Democrats argue that the proposal is nothing but a "right-wing power grab."
"Republicans are in disarray nationally right now. And in California, they aren't even treading water. They'll do everything they can to steal the White House in 2008. Our job is to make sure that we take it seriously and do everything we can to kill it," said Roger Salazar, a spokesman for the California Democratic Party.
So tell me, why is Roger Salazar against this proposal? If Democrats REALLY wanted to be fair and change our voting system to a more "popular vote" type, they'd support this wholeheartedly. However, since California has been a typically Democratic state, they don't want to change it there. They want to change it when it suits them like the 2000 election.
That's hypocrisy boys and girls. That's the kind of stuff you'd expect to see from a child. What Democrats REALLY should do is say "ok, we'll change it in California, if we can put forth initiatives like this across the country". That ways it's fair across the board. But they don't want to because they know that certain areas of California would be won by Republicans and they are doing everything they can to get the White House back, including showing blatant hypocrisy.
However, there is support for the initiative amongst Californians, 47%-35%.
It's sad really when you think about it. You'd think that everyone in the political spectrum would want elections to be open and fair, but when it comes down to it, Democrats seem to want to change the rules only when it suits them, not in the name of fairness.
